Good news. Let’s hope this is the start of a permanent rethink of the borough’s leisure strategy

Following the events in Spain this week, I am deeply concerned that the European arrest warrant issued to extradite the former president of Catalan Carles Puigdemont is being used for political purposes - I raised the issue with the minister today

British steel is a crucial part of our economy and Orb in particular is essential to future green industry. It was great to join so many people & colleagues out today, including our fantastic Islwyn Labour team, showing solidarity with Orb workers

Islwyn has been hit particularly hard by bank closures that’s why I went along to Risca branch to find out more about their work to engage with the community. Local residents need to have access to bank branches

It’s important that our footpaths and bridleways are safe so that residents and visitors can enjoy all Islwyn has to offer. I was glad to meet representatives from and today to discuss how we can work together to keep them that way

Popped into today to present a cheque for their school garden. Also met with their eco committee where we talked about ways each of us can do small things to reduce our use of plastic. The children put us all to shame with their efforts!

Good to see so many colleagues turn out today to support debate on Orb Steel in Newport. Rather than allowing it to close the government should put its money where its mouth is and support the plant in helping to manufacture the next generation of electric cars

The Orb plant in Newport is the only place in the UK capable of producing the steel needed for electric vehicles. Shouldn't this supposedly environmentally friendly Government be doing more to save it?

During my recent visit I was shocked how much their resources are stretched dealing with high risk offenders who’ve been released early. Police work hard enough without this increased burden. Today I asked the Justice Sec to change this policy
