OpenOffice.org (OOo), commonly known as OpenOffice, is a discontinued open-source office suite, while it has descendant projects. It was an open-sourced version of the earlier StarOffice, which Sun Microsystems acquired in 1999, for internal use. Sun open-sourced the software in July 2000 as a competitor to Microsoft Office, releasing version 1.0 on 1 May 2002. In 2011 Oracle Corporation, the then-owner of Sun, announced that it would no longer offer a commercial version of the suite and soon after donated the project to the Apache Foundation. Apache renamed the software Apache OpenOffice. Other active successor projects include LibreOffice (cross-platform including OS X) and NeoOffice (only for OS X).
OpenOffice.org's default file format was the OpenDocument Format (ODF), an ISO/IEC standard, which originated with OpenOffice.org. It could also read a wide variety of other file formats, with particular attention to those from Microsoft Office.
OpenOffice.org contained a word processor (Writer), a spreadsheet (Calc), a presentation application (Impress), a drawing application (Draw), a formula editor (Math), and a database management application (Base).
Root! (stylised ROOT!) was an Australian rock group from Melbourne formed in 2004. Their music combines alt-country, blues and indie rock with elements of spoken word, satire, social commentary and post-modernism. They have gained attention through a band member being a former member of Melbourne band TISM.
Some time in 2004-05, Root! began as a series of demos written solely by lead singer DC Root. In late 2006, guitarist Henri Root was hired as a tradesperson to build a set of shelves for DC. "Henri came 'round to my house to build me some shelves and I discovered that he was a jazz trained musician". During 2006, the group was fleshed out with Steve Root on keyboards and Barnaby Root on drums. Cowell and Grawe knew each other as far back as 2000 - Grawe had worked with Cowell's former band TISM on their 2001 album De Rigueurmortis.
Their first concert as a group was made at the closing party of Melbourne’s Spanish Club on 17 June 2007. Although barely announced, word that an alleged member of TISM was unveiling a new project led to a large, expectant crowd assembling. From there, word of mouth spread, leading to heavy traffic on the band's nascent MySpace page, the creation of a fan website entitled The Root! Compendium, and growing demand for an album.
A root is the part of a plant that is below ground.

Root are a Czech black metal band.
Root were formed by vocalist Big Boss and guitarist Blackie in late 1987. According to Big Boss, in the beginning, they knew no foreign bands and could do no tape trading. Although the first demo recording mentioned on their homepage's discography section is Deep in Hell, according to their biography, they recorded their first official demo tape Reap of Hell after a few rehearsals. Root played their first concert in September 1988. The next demo cassette War of Rats was released in 1988, followed by Messengers from Darkness in 1989. Vocalist Big Boss played drums on these recordings. Whereas Messengers from Darkness is mentioned as "the third and last" demo cassette in their biography, the discography section lists The Trial as the last one.
In 1990, the band released the single 7 černých jezdců / 666, with artwork done by Master's Hammer vocalist František Štorm. To promote their first album, Zjevení (again with artwork by Štorm), they recorded a video for their song "Hrbitov", released on the Czech Death Metal Session compilation, with photographs by Štorm. Zjevení was also released as The Revelation.
Woke up naked in the park
No recollection of where I go after dark
But when the moon is full I change my form
Bringing chaos and terror, whipping up a storm
Hurling abuse at passers by
They freeze with fear by my very sight
I’m Dr. Jekyll, I’m Mr. Hyde
I wet myself like an infant child
I am The Howling
I am The Howling
I am The Howling
I’m fucking howling
Indiscriminate of friend and stranger
My frenzied rage brings hellish danger
They tried to curb my wretched soul
They locked me up, issued an ASBO
But I’m the monster that can’t be tamed
An untamed beast with no restraint
A booze-fuelled demon rising after dark
Who wakes up naked in Hyde Park
I am The Howling
I am The Howling
I am The Howling
I’m fucking howling
Caged for hours like a rabid dog empowered
