We recently took a guided trip to see The Great Wall of China and visited the Mutianyu (Mu Tian Yu) portion. Why you may ask? Because it has a freakin Toboggan slide ride from the top to the bottom, for the ultimate end to a day of trekking along the wall. Well worth the 60¥ one way ticket price.

Love these Bobkart rides and the one at Knight Valley has been the best I've ridden yet! It's like a "Powered Alpine slide" where you can control the speed yourself (although I only go FAAAAAST!!!!" Chengdu in China has been the hometown of the giant panda -- one of the world's most endangered species - for more than 8 million years, and the Chengdu Panda Base (a not-for-profit organisation) is a world-renowned breeding and research center for the giant panda. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2012, the Panda Base now has the largest controlled breeding population in the world -- 108 giant pandas.
Panda Awareness Week highlights the work of the Chengdu Panda Base in fostering the continued growth of the giant panda population, as well as rescuing and rehabilitating pandas so they can return to the wild.
To celebrate Panda Awareness Week, 108 pandas brought panda-monium to the streets of London on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of July.

Riding the Great Wall of China Alpine Slide. Some guys I met that day and I waited at the top of the slide for about 15 minutes for everybody else to clear out of the slide, and then we went down as fast as possible. I went last, and was going so fast at the end that I slid through the ending zone, and down the cart return ramp into the chairlift terminal!
Note - this was shot on my GoPro Hero4 Silver at 1080p/60 - so be sure to watch it in 60fps!

A giant slide was recently unveiled in a Shanghai shopping center, attracting public attention and also sparking safety concerns.
The mall built the five-story steel tube slide that connects the fifth floor to the ground floor.
The big slide easily captures shoppers' attention. Some people were enthusiastic about taking a ride when it opens next month, while others said they were concerned about how safe it is to slide down from the five stories.
It is said to take one only 16 seconds to slide from the top to the bottom.
Local authority said they have required the mall to submit draft and construction plan of the slide for safety check.
"We have asked the mall to submit the examining record and the test report of a third party. It will not be allowed to run into operation until relevant documents are handed in," said Zhang Qiangkang, deputy director of safety production supervision department of Shanghai Pudong Safety Production Supervision Bureau.

Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China to protect the Chinese states and empires against the raids and invasions of the various nomadic groups of the Eurasian Steppe. Several walls were being built as early as the 7th century BCE; these, later joined together and made bigger and stronger, are now collectively referred to as the Great Wall. Especially famous is the wall built 220–206 BCE by Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. Little of that wall remains. Since then, the Great Wall has on and off been rebuilt, maintained, and enhanced; the majority of the existing wall is from the Ming Dynasty.
Other purposes of the Great Wall have included border controls, allowing the imposition of duties on goods transported along the Silk Road, regulation or encouragement of trade and the control of immigration and emigration. Furthermore, the defensive characteristics of the Great Wall were enhanced by the construction of watch towers, troop barracks, garrison stations, signaling capabilities through the means of smoke or fire, and the fact that the path of the Great Wall also served as a transportation corridor.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, or simply Chengdu Panda Base, is a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals. It is located in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
Chengdu Panda Base was founded in 1987. It started with 6 giant pandas that were rescued from the wild. By 2008, it had 124 panda births, and the captive panda population has grown to 83.
Its stated goal is to "be a world-class research facility, conservation education center, and international educational tourism destination."
Partnerships
Chengdu Panda Base has partnered with many organizations in improving ways to conserve giant pandas. For example, its partnership with Zoo Atlanta helped the zoo secure the loan of 2 giant pandas. To date, these 2 giant pandas, Yang Yang and Lun Lun, have produced five off-spring: Mei Lan in 2006, Xi Lan in 2008, Po born on November 3, 2010 and Mei Lun and Mei Huan in 2013.

Great Wall Alpine Slide CRASH!
Riding the Great Wall of China Alpine Slide. Some guys I met that day and I waited at the top of the slide for about 15 minutes for everybody else to clear out of the slide, and then we went down as fast as possible. I went last, and was going so fast at the end that I slid through the ending zone, and down the cart return ramp into the chairlift terminal! Note - this was shot on my GoPro Hero4 Silver at 1080p/60 - so be sure to watch it in 60fps! A giant slide was recently unveiled in a Shanghai shopping center, attracting public attention and also sparking safety concerns. In part two of my video travel guide to India I travel to Bodhgaya, one of the most sacred places in all of the Buddhist religion. It was at this location 2,500 years ago that a young Prince Siddhartha sat under a fig tree, meditated and found enlightenment, thus becoming the Buddha. I start off by visiting the many temples that have been built by various Buddhists from around the world, including temples dedicated to Buddhists living in China, Japan, Tibet and Nepal. I then visit the Tergar Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist complexes in the region, which is a short walk from the main road. The palace served as both a residential and governmental seat to the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. A stone’s throw away from the old Summer Palace is the Garden of Harmonious Unity that was the favourite garden of the Emperor’s household who retreated to its cool lakeside shores during the humid months of summer. Close to Badaling the Great Wall Of China extends majestically across misty mountains. It is the largest Man-made structure in the world and was erected to protect the country from invasion from the North. The gigantic wall represented the division of two very different cultures. On one side the Central Asian Nomads and on the other the highly developed civilisation of the emerging Chinese Empire. Shanghai is a Gigantic City and a meeting point of both east and west. The shoreline is without a doubt the city’s main focal point and is a combination of past, present and future and contains the historic monuments and eye catching buildings of a great city. Famous explorer Marco Polo referred to Suzhou as the ‘Venice of the East’, a city that is particularly famous for its gardens. Many of its extremely elegant buildings are remnants of a glorious past. Yunnan´s most famous site is the unique Stone Forest Of Shi Lin, a forest of rock that extends for 27,000 hectares. Hong Kong is a city of the superlative with glimmering skyscrapers that seem to take root in the sky and one elegant building after another with shining glass and hi-tech facades. Top Things to do in China!
I know that this is long overdue and that I haven't posted a video in a while, but seriously China!! Anyways, this list is less about the top attractions in China and more about the best ones. Moreover, it features the off the beaten path destinations in China as well. So what are the most incredible things to do in China. Here's my take:
10) Changsha and the Mao Zedong Staute (长沙和毛泽东雕像)
This is crazy, in the capital of Hunan Province there's a giant statue of Mao Zedong that looks like something out of Mount Rushmore. Definitely a top thing to see in China.
9) Bifengxia Panda Base (碧峰峡大熊猫保护区)
The Panda Center in Chengdu is a bit over-touristed. That's why it's a great option to head to Bifengxia on the edge of the village of Ya'an, and up to this amazing place to visit in China.
8) Dunhuang Oasis (敦煌绿洲)
Up in Gansu Province there are a lot of amazing places to see! The Dunhuang Desert Oasis is an extension of the Gobi and is unreal!
7) The Westernmost Section of the Great Wall of China in Jiayuguan (对中国的嘉峪关长城的最西端科)
Sure, most people travel China specifically to see the Great Wall. Most head to Beijing. If you want an off-the-beaten-path option than Jiayuguan is perfect.
6) Yangshuo (阳朔)
In Guanxi Province Yangshuo is awesome. Limestone karst landscapes and beautiful river scenes make this an easy addition to the top things to see in China.
5) Mati Si and the Cliff Temples (马蒂思崖寺)
Mati Si is really cool. It's famous for the Buddhist Cliff temples, and they are very cool. Full of grottos and caves, this is a must see in China.
4) Zhangye Rainbow Mountains (张掖彩虹山)
This was probably the #1 thing I was looking forward to in China. However, most people don't even know about it. The Zhangye Rainbow Mountains are unreal, and a worthy addition to a travel itinerary in China that is full of amazing attractions.
3) Shangrila and the Songzanlin Monastery (香格里拉和松赞林寺)
Up on the border of Tibet in Yunan Province, the town of Shangrila is a really interesting visit. Lots of colourful people, interesting architecture, and the amazing Songzanlin Monastery.
2) Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces (龙的骨干梯田)
Near Guilin, the Drangon's Backbone Rice Terraces are a must-see in China. They were close to ending up as the number one thing to see in China on this list, but even the amazing landscapes of this place couldn't beat out...
1) Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the Avatar Mountains (张家界国家森林公园和阿凡达山)
Actually, this was fairly easily my #1 Thing to see in China. The avatar mountains in Zhangjiajie National Forest park are crazy cool. The incredible mountains were the inspiration for the movie avatar. You need to see this place with your own eyes!

Top Things to do in China!
I know that this is long overdue and that I haven't posted a video in a while, but seriously China!! Anyways, this list is less about the top attractions in China and more about the best ones. Moreover, it features the off the beaten path destinations in China as well. So what are the most incredible things to do in China. Here's my take:

In part two of my video travel guide to India I travel to Bodhgaya, one of the most sacred places in all of the Buddhist religion. It was at this location 2,500 years ago that a young Prince Siddhartha sat under a fig tree, meditated and found enlightenment, thus becoming the Buddha.
I start off by visiting the many temples that have been built by various Buddhists from around the world, including temples dedicated to Buddhists living in China, Japan, Tibet and Nepal. I then visit the Tergar Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist complexes in the region, which is a short walk from the main road.
I then head to the sacred Mahabodhi Temple complex in the center of town. At sunset it is a scenic, peaceful time to explore the grounds, which include a large monument built at the Bodhi Tree itself, as well as a sprawling garden area where people come from around the world to meditate.

Great Wall Alpine Slide CRASH!
Riding the Great Wall of China Alpine Slide. Some guys I met that day and I waited at the top of the slide for about 15 minutes for everybody else to clear out of the slide, and then we went down as fast as possible. I went last, and was going so fast at the end that I slid through the ending zone, and down the cart return ramp into the chairlift terminal! Note - this was shot on my GoPro Hero4 Silver at 1080p/60 - so be sure to watch it in 60fps! Please read the description! Steve Jablonsky is a wonderful composer. No matter what film he works on, he never fails to disappoint. And his score for Transformers: Age of Extinction was no different. I decided to create a compilation featuring nearly all of the music featured in the film, from the opening titles all the way to the credits. This video features 97% of the original score placed in the order it was heard in the film. I combined the original score with the expanded score, and in all there are around 70 different tracks. Steve Jablonsky is a wonderful composer. No matter what film he works on, he never fails to disappoint. And his score for Transformers: Age of Extinction was no different. I decided to create a compilation featuring nearly all of the music featured in the film, from the opening titles all the way to the credits. This video features 97% of the original score placed in the order it was heard in the film. I combined the original score with the expanded score, and in all there are around 70 different tracks.
Personally, I didn't like the film. It was long, boring, dull, and disappointing. But the music is definitely worth listening to. We are treated to the film versions of such tracks as "The Presence of Megatron", "Dinobot Charge", "Honor to the End" and others. Some of the tracks are partially overlapped over each other as they were in the film. For instance, the end of "Autobots Angry with Humans" and the beginning of "KSI Chicago" overlap.
So I did mention that this video features 97% of the music from the movie. Not all of the music is featured. Here's what's not included: any of the tracks that included vocals in them, particularly tracks such as "Beer Bot Fails", "Cade Takes Matters Into His Own Hands - Parts 1 and 2", and "Non-Dating Household". I was not a big fan of the vocals, so I did not include them in the video. The tracks "Cade Works on Truck in Barn" and "Lucas Arrives at the House" are not featured because they are both very short, at around ten seconds long each. There are two tracks titled "Dogs Chase Tessa" and "Weapons Room" that were featured near the middle of the film and released in the expanded score, but unfortunately, they were muted for some reason, so they are not included. Imagine Dragons' "Battle Cry" song appears in the middle and the end of the film, but I decided not to include them because I felt it would take away from the other vocal-less tracks.
