Dennis Emmanuel Brown CD (1 February 1957 – 1 July 1999) was a Jamaican reggae singer. During his prolific career, which began in the late 1960s when he was aged eleven, he recorded more than 75 albums and was one of the major stars of lovers rock, a subgenre of reggae. Brown is the color of dark wood or rich soil. Brown is a composite color; in printing or painting, brown is made by combining red, black and yellow, or red, yellow and blue. In the RGB color model used to make colors on television screens and computer monitors, brown is made by combining red and green, in specific proportions. The brown color is seen widely in nature, in wood, soil, and human hair color, eye color and skin pigmentation. In Europe and the United States, brown is the color most often associated with plainness, humility, the rustic, and poverty. Brown is also, according to public opinion surveys in Europe and the United States, the least favorite color of the public.

Dennis or Denis is a first or last name from the Greco-Roman name Dionysius, via one of the Christian saints named Dionysius.
The name came from Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, which is sometimes said to be derived from the Greek Dios (Διός, "of Zeus") and Nysos or Nysa (Νῦσα), where the young god was raised. Dionysus (or Dionysos; also known as Bacchus in Roman mythology and associated with the Italic Liber), the Thracian god of wine, represents not only the intoxicating power of wine, but also its social and beneficent influences. He is viewed as the promoter of civilization, a lawgiver, and lover of peace — as well as the patron deity of both agriculture and the theater.
Dionysus is a god of mystery religious rites, such as those practiced in honor of Demeter and Persephone at Eleusis near Athens. In the Thracian mysteries, he wears the "bassaris" or fox-skin, symbolizing new life. (See also Maenads.)
A mediaeval Latinised form of the Anglo-Norman surname Le Denys was Dacus, which correctly meant Dacian, but when the Vikings were about was often used to mean "Danish" or "The Dane". The name became modernised as Denys, then later as Dennis.
Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley, OM (6 February 1945 – 11 May 1981) was a Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist who achieved international fame and acclaim. Starting out in 1963 with the group The Wailers, he forged a distinctive songwriting and vocal style that would later resonate with audiences worldwide. The Wailers would go on to release some of the earliest reggae records with producer Lee "Scratch" Perry.
After the Wailers disbanded in 1974, Marley pursued a solo career upon his relocation to England that culminated in the release of the album Exodus in 1977, which established his worldwide reputation and produced his status as one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, with sales of more than 75 million records.Exodus stayed on the British album charts for fifty-six consecutive weeks. It included four UK hit singles: "Exodus", "Waiting in Vain", "Jamming", and "One Love". In 1978 he released the album Kaya, which included the hit singles "Is This Love" and "Satisfy My Soul".

Dennis Emmanuel Brown belongs to that elite band of reggae artists who have succeeded in achieving a true international stardom. Often hailed today as "Bob Marley's favourite singer". Dennis Brown has managed not only to achieve elusive chart success with 'Money In My Pocket', but has also regularly performed in the United Kingdom and Europe. This footage captures the artist at the peak of his performing ability during his considerable run of chart successes in 1979. He performed with the outstanding 'We The People' made up of the cream of the Jamaican session world. In the midst of this chaos, the tranquility of Montreux and it's superb annual festival was a welcome relief and became a special moment as these recordings clearly show. Marla Brown, daughter of the late great Dennis Brown sang one of her Dad's greatest songs for Seani B on the Thursday night Dancehall show.
While preparing for the release of "Easy To Love," his first new album in seven years, Maxi Priest stopped by Sirius XM in NYC for a chat with the legendary reggae media boss lady Pat McKay. And of course the original Lion Face, formerly known as Babyface of King Addies sound, was there at the control tower. During the reasoning, Maxi got to talking about his favorite singer, Dennis Brown, and something came over him. Call it inspiration, call it the spirit moving. Before you knew it, the interview turned into a performance. Afterwards Maxi took a moment to big up Beres Hammond, and to acknowledge VP Records' role in spreading reggae music worldwide. Subscribe to Boomshots TV for more crucial reggae and dancehall videos.

When she launched her music career in 2013, she was already an enviable achiever in dance and theater across Europe – a semifinalist in the hit TV show Britain’s got talent, a dancing face for sporting giant Adidas and extensive theatrical productions all over London under her belt. Add to that, she being the daughter of the late crown prince of Reggae, and her transition to a musical artiste garnered no surprises; the only question then, was the caliber of music talent. Well, in 2014 she left an indelible mark on Jamaicans after a live performance at her father’s annual tribute-concert in Kingston, and by the end of 2015 was affirmed an accomplished recording artiste She is Marla brown, reggae princess right now
