Match Day is a football computer game, published by Ocean Software in 1984, originally on the ZX Spectrum and then later released on the Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, & Commodore 64 systems. It is the first game in the Match Day series, and the title and opening music are references to Match of the Day. It was the creation of programmer Jon Ritman.
This video game was the first one where large moving footballers characters could dribble, throw-in, take corners, etc. on ZX Spectrum. The game uses modified sprites from a previous title Bear Bovver to create an almost isometric, but still ultimately side-on football title.
The game was included on the 1986 compilation They Sold a Million II, along with Bruce Lee, Match Point, and Knight Lore.
The game only has 2 teams Ritman Rovers and Clarke PR, but to change the names of the teams
The sequel, Match Day II was much the same but incorporated two features still used today in most football titles - a deflection system, the ball could bounce off players, which meant headers were possible, and a shot power system, although it was as easy to accidentally backheel the ball with this system, as it was to hit a powerful shot. The game is also similar to a previously, not published game by Jon Ritman, Soccerama.

The National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) was a rebel group that initiated and participated in the First Liberian Civil War from 1989 to 1996.
The military aspects of NPFL was led by Charles Taylor, a former government official who was being sought for trial on charges of corruption, the NPFL took up arms against the regime of Samuel Doe on 24 December 1989. Most NPFL fighters were originally drawn from the Gio and Mano ethnic groups of northern Liberia who were persecuted under Doe's regime.
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf served as International Coordinator of the NPFL. Taylor and Tom Woewiyu were also in leadership positions.
Taylor's NPFL enjoyed the active backing of Libya, Côte d'Ivoire, and Burkina Faso, especially in the early years of the war. Popular support within Liberia helped the group grow from an initial force numbering in the low hundreds to a large irregular army which occupied around 80 percent of the country in less than a year.
Sports Tonight was an Australian sports news and information program broadcast on Network Ten (and on its sister digital channel One), from 1993, until 2011.
At the end of its run, the program was broadcast on weeknights (on One) at 10.30 pm; at 11.00pm (on Ten combined with Ten Late News), Fridays at 12.00am (on Ten after the Late News), and on Sunday from 7:30pm AEDT (on One, though this sometimes varied due to live sports coverage or other programming). The program provided up-to-date sports scores and team and player information for all codes of football and different sports across Australia.
The show ran from 1993 to 2011. From 1993 until 2005, the show ran for half an hour on each weeknight after Ten Late News. The two shows merged in 2006, but there was some criticism by viewers that Sports Tonight was not long enough and that it should have remained the same.
However, Sports Tonight was aired on Fridays as a separate program.
In 2011 the weekend 5:30pm editions of Sports Tonight normally seen on Network Ten were removed from those timeslots, due to the weekend news bulletins moving to 6pm. To compensate for this, a Sports Tonight-branded sports report were incorporated into these bulletins. This edition of Sports Tonight had been airing in the 5:30pm weekend slot since 2000. Thus, the only time Sports Tonight is aired on Network Ten is in the traditional late-night time slot with Ten Late News.

The Beginning Of The End
( New Buffalo EP )
You got me thinking about the end.
Giving up making changes and starting again.
You with your eyes open when you're sleepwalking.
Check the time, it's the beginning of the end.
Tonight there's a race with an intangible prize
Bare feet on the lawn see the frill in your eyes
And we'll sing the winning song together again.
'Cause it's time for the begiinning of the end
Locked inside cabin fever, he's changed his tun
He's not singing the blues, he's seranading you
Take my hand, close your eyes
Let me lead you astray
'Cause tonight marks of the end of your terrible ways
And together we'll climb and stand on top
See the lights in the city
See your courage singing pretty
One more letter to send
Say "thank you friend"
