Spanish pronouns

The Spanish language has a range of pronouns that in some ways work quite differently from English ones. The system is more complicated, but richer. Correct pronoun use is essential for successful relationships with other people. In addition, subject pronouns are often omitted, and object pronouns usually precede the verb.

Personal pronouns

The table below shows a cumulative list of personal pronouns from Peninsular, Latin American and Ladino Spanish.

Subject personal pronouns are usually omitted in both spoken and written language, as the grammatical person and number of the subject are made explicit in the verb form. For this reason Spanish is considered a "pro-drop language". Nevertheless, subject pronouns can be used for emphasis or contrast, or to avoid ambiguity. With regard to pronouns, Latin American Spanish differs from Peninsular Spanish mainly in the usage of vos in some areas and in the absence of vosotros, among other things. Note that Ladino and Latin American Spanish (like most other "colonial" speech) tend to be conservative in their structural changes compared with that of the country of origin. Luis Miguel

Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri (April 19, 1970), known professionally as Luis Miguel, is a Mexican singer and an icon in Latin America, he is often referred to as El Sol de México. He is one of the most successful artists in Latin American history, having successfully performed in a wide range of musical styles, including pop, ballads, boleros and mariachi. To date, he has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Latin pop music, along with his personal life and showmanship on stage, has made Luis Miguel an icon for nearly his entire career, which started in Mexico in 1981. Having won his first Grammy Award at the age of fourteen for his duet "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres" with Sheena Easton, he is the third youngest act in music history to receive this accolade. In 1991, the RIAA recognized the high sales for his 1991 album Romance, itself being the best-selling music album in Mexico, and one of the best-selling Spanish language albums of all time. He is the only Latin artist to have been awarded two Platinum certified Spanish-language albums in the United States (Romance and Segundo Romance). His most recent album, Luis Miguel, was released in 2010 and achieved gold and platinum certifications in four countries within three days of its release.

Diego Torres

Diego Antonio Caccia Torres (born March 9, 1971 in Buenos Aires), also known as Diego Torres, is an Argentine two Grammy Award-nominated pop singer, songwriter, composer, musician and actor (of films, theater and television). He is the son of the legendary Argentine artist Lolita Torres (1930-2002).

Biography

Diego Torres was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Is the son of popular argentine singer and actress Lolita Torres. In 1989, Torres' music career began with a band called "La Marca." Later, he began his first steps on TV starring in the successful TV series "La Banda del Golden Rocket" which stayed on air for three years. He loved soccer. Torres has won 3 awards along with 17 nominations for the Latin Grammys.

In 1992, he launched his first album, "Diego Torres," produced by Cachorro López. This album was rewarded 3 times platinum. Two years later, and a little distant from TV, he launched his second album called "Tratar de estar mejor" which received 5 platinum albums in Argentina and gold and platinum albums in other Latin American countries. This album launched Torres to the international scene.
