"Vanity Fair" national editor Todd Purdum, whose article about Sarah Palin on the 2008 campaign trail eventually served to be a precursor to Palin stepping down as Governor of Alaska that same week, joins "Morning Joe" to comment on the abrupt resignation. He doesn't think his article "caused a rift in the Republican party, it exposed a rift that was already there." He later comments that Palin "is not a politician." Joining Todd Purdum is NBC News' Andrea Mitchell, live from Wasilla, Alaska with reaction from Palin's hometown. Also, Donny Deutsch back in the studio chimes in, saying of Palin: "She was incompetent."
