Twin Peaks is an American television serial drama created by Mark Frost and David Lynch. It follows an investigation headed by FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) into the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) in the fictional town of Twin Peaks, Washington. Its pilot episode was broadcast on April 8, 1990, on ABC. Seven more episodes were produced, and the series was renewed for a second season that aired until June 10, 1991.
Twin Peaks explores the gulf between the veneer of small-town respectability and the seedier life beneath. As the series progresses, the inner darkness of characters who initially appeared innocent is revealed, and they are seen to lead double lives. Its unsettling tone and supernatural features are consistent with horror films, but its campy, melodramatic portrayal of quirky characters engaged in dubious activities parodies of American soap operas. Like much of Lynch's work, the show represents an earnest moral inquiry distinguished by both offbeat humor and surrealism.
Just You is a song by US singing duo Sonny and Cher, first released in April 1965. It was recorded in January of that year, and was the first single which they released on the ATCO label; before that time they had been under contract to Reprise Records. The song initially did not chart but in the slipstream of the I Got You Babe success it was rereleased and reached a respectable #20 on the US singles chart. The B-side of the record, Sing, c'est la vie did much better in other parts of the world (in Australia, for example; it also reached #1 in Belgium).
The single Just You, taken from Sonny and Cher's successful album Look at Us, reached the top twenty in the US in 1965. In France it led to a French language cover version by Sheila who teamed with the young male singer Akim to record Pas sans moi (French lyrics by Claude Carrère and Vline Buggy). It was on an EP with the hit track Devant le juke-box (If I didn't have a dime). Cher wrote in her autobiography that Just You is still one of her favorite tracks. The song is said to be similar to Baby, I Love You by The Ronettes. Just You became the duo's third top twenty hit after I Got You Babe and Baby Don't Go.

The film then cuts to one year later in the nearby town of Twin Peaks and follows the events during the last week in the life of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) a troubled teenage girl with two boyfriends; the hot-tempered rebel Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook) and quiet biker James Hurley (James Marshall), her drug addiction, and her relationship with her difficult (and possible schizophrenic) father Leland (Ray Wise), a story in which her violent murder was later to motivate much of the TV series. Contains a considerable amount of sex, drugs, violence, very loud music and inexplicable imagery.

Amazing song from the cult series Twin Peaks. It was mainly a theme of the relationship between James Hurley and Donna Hayward, but the only time it was heard in its full length was at the earliest episodes of the second season, when Donna and James sang it with Laura Palmer's cousin Maddy, which lead to a triangle love drama. It was — of course — written and composed by the great Angelo Badalamenti, whose songs David Lynch used in many of his movies.
Here is my review of Twin Peaks: The Return - Part 13. Right off the bat the most memorable part of the episode for me was James Hurley singing "You and I". Never thought I'd hear that song again in an episode of Twin Peaks, bu there we have it. "James has always been cool." — Shelly Briggs Now this episode of The Return was extremely fractured, and I personally had a hard time keeping up with it. So I'm asking you guys, the dedicated fans to help me out in making sense of what happened this episode. Also, we got to see Big Ed, big lonesome Ed, that is. Heartbreaking. We're only 5 episodes/parts away from the end now. Will we see the Coop we knew in loved in '91 or is Dougie Jones here to stay?
