The Merri Table
The Merri Table is CERES’ own purpose-built organic cafe, and is one of the most popular attractions in our community. We are open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, and provide a relaxed, environmentally friendly dining experience. We offer welcoming, casual service, and a contemporary menu that caters for all tastes and dietary requirements, with many vegan and gluten free options. We operate within the CERES ethos of sustainability, community, and mindfulness of our planet, and all our profits go back to CERES to support our programmes.

Are you hiring a room at CERES and also looking for morning tea or lunch options? The Merri Table team provide delicious catering options Monday to Friday for groups who hire rooms in the Van Raay Centre.
The catering menu offers a variety of morning tea and lunch options, all made here at CERES. All the food served is organic, local and seasonal and we have delicious options for vegetarians, vegans and those who are gluten free. We are able to cater to most group sizes and are able to ensure fresh, healthy food is available within the break times required by your meeting. See our menu for more information.
To make a catering booking:
Please email us at themerri@ceres.org.au (preferred) or phone: 03 9389 0166 (this number is not attended during service times).
You will need to let us know:
- Date
- Time (s)
- Number of people
- Dietary restrictions
We ask that you confirm your order and finalise your payment one week prior to your booking. Any additional food or beverage must be paid for in full on the day of your event or beforehand.
Alternatively your group may wish to dine in the beautiful restaurant space at The Merri Table, choosing from the regular menu. You will need to book ahead for larger groups of 10 or more people.
At the moment we are unable to offer catering on weekends or for people who are not using the Van Raay rooms – our cafe is just too busy! Please speak with Venue Hire staff regarding alternative catering arrangements – venuehire@ceres.org.au
The Merri Table is the building on your left when you enter CERES through the main gates on the corner of Roberts and Stewart Streets. If you come in another gate, head up the hill.
