About borderlands PUBLISHER'S NOTE

Variation to Volume 15

Due to resignations and illness in our editorial team, and a decline in submissions through 2014, publication in Borderlands was unavoidably delayed. The rise of neoliberalism in universities and government research assessment, with its emphasis on statistics and journal rankings, has been harsh on relatively new transdisciplinary journals such as Borderlands.

We are however strongly committed to the future of the journal and through 2018 will be refreshing its board membership and its themes - to, among others, take in a critique of the borderland between human and other-than-human, culture and nature. We are now 16 years young and are proud of the diverse global profile of our authors and the consistently high quality of scholarship we have published.

As a part of this renewal strategy we have decided to publish only one issue in Volume 15 and are resuming bi-annual publication with Volume 16 in 2017. We have some fine special issues in the pipe and we encourage all readers and contributors to continue their support of Borderlands - a beacon of critical thought in these dark times.
