    Erica wrote 3/4 of a book on her own. She had a publisher already on lined up. She wrote dozens of articles that we never put out because of one thing or another. Her story IS incredible. Including what it took to just survive BEFORE the activism started.

    It’s worth taking note of the young black activists over the past few years who have passed away in large part because of the work they were doing every day to combat systemic racism. People underestimate the physical & emotional toll it takes to convince the world you’re human.

    Spent @ the 's Making Africa exhibit. The theme of "collective work & responsibility" resonated from the way the artists work in small collectives to the community "Wecyclers" program in Lagos.

    The Us Organization spelled the celebration with 2 "a’s" to differentiate it from the Kiswahili word kwanza, which means ‘first.’ Using 7 letters was also meant to accommodate the 7 principles and the initial 7 children of the organization.

    During the 1990s with a national emphasis on multiculturalism and inclusion, gained mainstream acceptance with corporations and mainstream Black organizations promoting it.
