20 years of partnership
Dear colleagues, partners and friends,
It’s with mixed feelings that we approach the closure of the UNDP Croatia Country Office. After two decades working with the Government to advance sustainable development, our office will cease operations on 31 December 2017, and this website will no longer be maintained. It has been a wonderful, intense and productive 20 years of work with you, and we are grateful for that experience.
From green entrepreneurs in Dalmatia to Roma settlements in Međimurje, from ‘Project Hunters’ capacity building to sustainable energy solutions, from Gacka River to the Workers’ Hall in Vukovar – it is impossible to recount all that we have achieved together. Croatia has made progress on many fronts, but we must keep in mind that the work of development never ends.
The legacy we leave to our allies in Croatia is the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. This global agenda is a blueprint to create a better world for all of us, but it won't become truth all by itself. That is why we remind you to think and to act as global citizens. As individuals or as organizations, each of us can and should do something to contribute to reducing poverty and inequality and to addressing climate change.
For inspiration visit the Sustainable Development Goals section of our global website. To learn more about UNDP’s work in the region, visit the UNDP Eurasia website. Click here for more information on UNDP’s global operations.
We thank the people and Government of Croatia for 20 years of collaboration and friendship.
