Boise (i/bɔɪsi/) is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Idaho, as well as the county seat of Ada County. Located on the Boise River in southwestern Idaho, the population of Boise at the 2010 Census was 205,671, the 99th largest in the nation. Its estimated population in 2013 was 214,237.
The Boise-Nampa metropolitan area, also known as the Treasure Valley, includes five counties with a combined population of 664,422, the most populous metropolitan area in Idaho. It contains the state's three largest cities; Boise, Nampa, and Meridian. Boise is the third most populous metropolitan area in the United States' Pacific Northwest region, behind Seattle and Portland.
Accounts differ about the origin of the name. One account credits Capt. B.L.E. Bonneville of the U.S. Army as its source. After trekking for weeks through dry and rough terrain, his exploration party reached an overlook with a view of the Boise River Valley. The place where they stood is called Bonneville Point, located on the Oregon Trail east of the city. According to the story, a French-speaking guide, overwhelmed by the sight of the verdant river, yelled "Les bois! Les bois!" ("The wood! The wood!")—and the name stuck.
Boise State University (BSU) is a public research institution in Boise, Idaho.
Founded in 1932 by the Episcopal Church, it became an independent junior college in 1934, and has been awarding baccalaureate and master's degrees since 1965. With nearly 23,000 students, Boise State has the largest enrollment of higher education institutions in the state of Idaho.
Boise State offers 201 degrees in 190 fields of study and has more than 100 graduate programs, including the MBA and MAcc programs in the College of Business and Economics; Masters and PhD programs in the Colleges of Engineering, Arts & Sciences, and Education; and the MPA program in the College of Social Sciences & Public Affairs.
The university's athletic teams, the Broncos, participate in NCAA Division I athletics (FBS for football) as a member of the Mountain West Conference for most sports. The Wrestling team is an associate member of the Pac-12 Conference, since the MWC does not sponsor the sport.
Boise State University was founded in 1932 as Boise Junior College by the Episcopal Church, which created the school from the earlier St. Margaret's School, an Episcopal school founded in 1892 in nearby Christ Chapel. BSU's founding president was Middleton Barnwell, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho. After two years the school became independent, and, in 1940, moved from St. Margaret's Hall to its present site along the south bank of the Boise River between Capitol Boulevard and Broadway Avenue.

Plot: Henrickson plays Frank Morgan, a notorious and feared gunfighter that has lived his life on the run. His face and eyes reveal a man that has been very much hardened by that life. We quickly learn, however, that there is still passion inside. Upon receiving a telegram from Linda, an old lover (played by Kay Lenz), requesting his presence, he abandons his woman, mounts his horse and rides to Linda without giving it a second thought. Upon arrival, he learns that Linda is now happily married to the owner of the local general store. The only vestige of her past that remains is a daughter, who Frank is surprised to learn is his. The daughter, of course, does not know about Frank. Linda, not wanting her to know that her father was a notorious gunfighter has given her a fictional father that died a hero's death at the First Battle of Bull Run. Frank quickly learns that Linda's reason for calling for him has nothing to do with romantic feelings. She wants him to protect her husband. It seems that there was an attempted bank robbery in town and the local sheriff and one of the robbers was killed. The other robber is in jail, waiting to be hanged, and Linda's husband has been appointed to the job of temporary sheriff. A cousin of the prisoner is set to be released from prison in a few days, and has made it clear that he will do whatever is necessary to get his kin out of jail. Linda's husband believes that the town will back him up when the showdown comes, but Linda knows better. She knows that he will be killed unless Frank agrees to help him. The story unfolds as Frank comes to terms with the fact that Linda and, for that matter, his newly discovered daughter are forever beyond his reach. He must decide whether to help the man that now has the woman he loves or to simply ride away.

I feel like I been here in Boise, Idaho for a lifetime! It was well worth it though, because I learned a great deal here. This place is a cool town that loves their college football team! Seem to be a quiet working town, but when it is time to party they can go HARD (Boise State game showed me that) lol! There are a lot scenic hiking areas here and a few breathtaking views just outside of Boise as well. They say a lot of people move here just to get away from the crowd and start anew. I must say if you are looking for that then look no further, Boise Idaho is a great place to be (But don't tell anybody I sent you there lol). Travel video about destination Shoshone Falls. Around five miles east of the town of Twin Falls in the U.S. State of Idaho, a spectacular and fascinating natural phenomenon attracts much attention. Shoshone Falls is one of the most visited attractions of the region and is also very well known way beyond Idaho, its waters plunging sixty five metres down into the depths below, a truly breathtaking sight. The waters of Shoshone Falls are supplied by Snake River, one of the longest and most important tributaries of the legendary Columbia Rivers. The source of Snake River, whose name was created by the Shoshone Indians, lies at the continental watershed of North America namely, the Yellowstone National Park. Man’s visible encroachment on the falls has been few and far between. Even the hydro...

I've got a picture
It's gonna help me on my way
Cause now I'm stuck in Boise in the rain
Another day with an empty heart
It alway hurts to be so apart
I count down the minutes until I'm back inside the world
So call me up when you're awake
Cause I'll be waiting
To let your voice once more carry me away
The bluest stars, sharp as sleep
Even though so far away from me
And my heart will tell you more than I could say
Another wicked winter
And I'm frozen to my soul
I could never find you this way
So many times has passed us by
Underneath the same winter sky
These circumstances prove how little lost you know
So call me up when you're awake
Cause I'll be waiting
To let your voice once more carry me away
The bluest stars, sharp as sleep
Even though so far away from me
And my heart will tell you more than I could say
This is our time
When its frozen outside
I know it's warm inside your arms
Create a circumstance
Will I forsake this chance
And take down my time to resign
I wonder now and then
If I could hold your hand
