Tokyo

Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō, "Eastern Capital") (Japanese: [toːkjoː], English /ˈtoʊki.oʊ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都, Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, and is both the capital and largest city of Japan. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府, Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市, Tōkyō-shi).

Armin van Buuren

Armin van Buuren (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑrmɪn vɑn ˈbyːrə(n)]; born 25 December 1976) is a Dutch trance producer, DJ and radio personality.

Since 2001, Van Buuren has hosted a weekly radio show called A State of Trance, which currently has more than 20 million weekly listeners in 74 countries on over 150 FM radio stations. This radio show propelled him to stardom and helped cultivate an interest in trance music around the world.

Van Buuren has won a number of accolades. He has been ranked the World No. 1 DJ by DJ Magazine in their annual Top 100 DJs fan poll a record of five times, 4 years in a row. He is currently ranked World No. 4 on DJ Magazine's list for 2015. In 2014, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for his single "This Is What It Feels Like" featuring Trevor Guthrie, which makes him the fourth trance artist ever to receive a Grammy nomination. In the United States, he holds the record for most entries (21) on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. His 2008 studio album, Imagine, entered the Dutch album chart at No. 1, a first for a trance artist in Dutch music history.

Donald Trump

Donald John Trump, Sr. (born June 14, 1946) is an American businessperson and media personality. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. Trump's career, branding efforts, personal life, wealth, and outspoken manner have made him famous throughout the country. Since 2015, he is also a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election.

Trump is a native of New York City and a son of Fred Trump, who inspired him to enter real estate development. After two years at Fordham University and while studying at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Trump worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son. Upon graduating in 1968 he joined the company, and in 1971 was given control, renaming the company "The Trump Organization". Since then he has built hotels, golf courses, and other properties, many of which bear his name. He is a major figure in the American business scene and has received prominent media exposure. English/Nat Hundreds took to the streets of Tokyo Sunday to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, Ireland's National day. It's the only non cultural Japanese street parade allowed in Japan. Hundreds of Irish and people with Irish ancestry took to the streets of central Tokyo Sunday to celebrate St. Patrick's day, Ireland's national day. A traditional band set the tone for a day of laughs and ales. But it was also a chance to send home a strong message of peace after the Irish Republican Army shattered the fragile Northern Ireland peace process with a series of bomb attacks on London. St Patrick is thought to have died on March 17 in the year 462, making Ireland's national day one of the oldest. St. Patrick went to Ireland from 5th century Roman Britain. An estimated 900 Irish citizens living in Japan took part in the parade, joined by hundreds with Irish ancestry. Traditional Irish folk music was played and even some Latin American friends joined in the fun. SOUNDBITE: (English) Well, it's great fun. Sometimes I think the Irish make more fun about St. Patrick's day abroad than they do even in Ireland. It's a time for them to remember home and also to join in the imagination with Irish people and people with Irish ancestry all over the world. Japanese/Nat Young Japanese have celebrated their coming of age in a bizarre manner. An estimated one point 64 (M) million Japanese were 20 years old on Monday - the traditional age marking the transition from childhood to adulthood. Some of them marked the momentous occasion by immersing themselves into freezing water. It's a ritual known as misogi (me-so-gee), designed to cleanse the body and remove physical and spiritual defilements. According to Japanese Civil Code, young men and women officially reach adulthood when they reach 20. Most mark this day by attending formal ceremonies organised by local governments. But a few hardy souls go further than this. Some young men chose to practise an ice water ablution rite. At a religious shrine in downtown Tokyo, they receive a blessing from a Shinto priest before leaping into an ice cold bath of water. The rite - called misogi (me-so-gee) - is a Shinto rite of ablution. It's a ritual cleansing of the body with water to remove one's physical and spiritual defilements. The annual ritual draws a crowd of people eager to watch the young men immerse themselves into the cold water. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) "I'm cold! Fortunately, it is warmer than usual. So, once I got used to the temperature of the water, my fear disappeared and I started feeling good." I've decided to become a responsible adult." SUPERCAPTION: Yoshiaki Ikuma, 20 year-old Japanese man The ceremony might be cold, but these young men see it as a bit of fun - and it takes their minds off other worries. Twenty-year-olds in Japan face a difficult time. The recession and corporate restructuring have increased unemployment. There's also concern about rising youth suicide rates and other signs of alienation among young people. The coming-of-age season also focuses attention in Japan on another issue: the falling birth rate. The rate in 1998 - one point 38 births per woman - was the lowest ever and among the lowest in the world. Many in Japan fear that there will not be enough workers in the future to provide for the growing ranks of elderly. It is not all dark for Japan's young people, however. Many hope that the erosion of strict education and corporate practices will offer future generations more freedom. And for one day at least, the 20-year-olds can enjoy being the centre of attention - even if it does involve a very chilly start.
