Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō, "Eastern Capital") (Japanese: [toːkjoː], English /ˈtoʊki.oʊ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都, Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, and is both the capital and largest city of Japan. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府, Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市, Tōkyō-shi).
The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad (第三十二回オリンピック競技大会, Dai Sanjūni-kai Orinpikku Kyōgi Taikai) and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is a major international multi-sport event due to be celebrated in the tradition of the Olympic Games as governed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The games are planned to be held from 24 July to 9 August 2020 in Tokyo, Japan. Tokyo was announced as the host city at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 7 September 2013. Tokyo previously hosted the 1964 Summer Olympic Games, and in 2020 will become the fifth city (and the first in Asia) to host the Summer Olympic Games more than once. Tokyo will also be hosting the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Tokyo, Istanbul and Madrid were the three candidate cities. The applicant cities of Baku and Doha were not promoted to candidate status. A bid from Rome was withdrawn.
48 votes needed for selection in opening round & runoff; 49 in final round.

Japan (i/dʒəˈpæn/; Japanese: 日本 Nippon [nip̚põ̞ɴ] or Nihon [nihõ̞ɴ]; formally 日本国
Nippon-koku or Nihon-koku, "State of Japan") is an island country in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, China, North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The kanji that make up Japan's name mean "sun origin", and Japan is often called the "Land of the Rising Sun".
Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 6,852 islands. The four largest are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, which make up about ninety-seven percent of Japan's land area. Japan's population of 126 million is the world's tenth largest. Approximately 9.1 million people live in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, which is the sixth largest city proper in the OECD. The Greater Tokyo Area, which includes Tokyo and several surrounding prefectures, is the world's largest metropolitan area with over 35 million residents and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy.

Hey tech enthusiasts! I recently traveled to Japan in late November, and had an amazing time! I brought 3 phones with me - the iPhone X, the Galaxy Note8, and the Google Pixel 2 XL. I ate all sorts of great food, including LOTS of sushi. I took some videos to share with all of you so you can get an idea of what the video quality is like. The one thing I noticed the most between the devices was how fast the phones could focus in lower light conditions, so take a look and let me know what you think! This sushi restaurant serves a $70 omakase ("chef's choice") that I think is one of THE most amazing values. Hit the Like button if you LIKE sushi, and leave me a comment below if you LOVE sushi! Shopping for cheap and used gadgets in Tokyo can be really fun! This time you are coming with me to shop for a second hand i-phone in Akihabara! yaaay! Akiba is sooo full of nice stores for you to shop for new or used; cameras, computers, notebooks, manga comic books, toys and much more! this place also has a creepy side, since you can find creepy DVDs of Japanese child models, in swimwear there. On Wednesday, Tokyo 2020, the organizing committee for the Japanese city's Olympic Games said that it would make the medals for the winner's of each event, from recycled metals from from old smartphones. This effort is a part of the Olympic agenda, which states that "sustainability should be part of all aspects of the Games." The organization is hoping to extract eight tons of metal from old electronic gear that will then be recycled into two tons. Which would be enough to produce the 5,000 medals needed for both the Olympic and Paralympic games. https://www.cnet.com/news/tokyo-olympics-to-feature-medals-made-of-recycled-phones/#ftag=CAD590a51e http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Aibo robot dog is back, gives us OLED puppy dog eyes Weird Sony is back, and it recently announced a new version of the Sony Aibo, everyone's favorite robotic toy dog! Sony has been out of the plastic pooch business for about 11 years, and the 2017 version is well-equipped for the smartphone era with LTE and an app. Sadly, like seemingly every Aibo ever, the pup is only for sale in Sony's hometown of Japan, but we can still love it from afar.

Akihabara (秋葉原), also called Akiba after a former local shrine, is a district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many electronics shops. In more recent years, Akihabara has gained recognition as the center of Japan's otaku (diehard fan) culture, and many shops and establishments devoted to anime and manga are now dispersed among the electronic stores in the district. On Sundays, Chuo Dori, the main street through the district, is closed to car traffic from 13:00 to 18:00 (until 17:00 from October through March). Akihabara has been undergoing major redevelopment over the years, including the renovation and expansion of Akihabara Station and the construction of new buildings in its proximity. Among these newly opened buildings were a huge Yodobashi electronics store and the Akihabara C...

In the third grade
It was decisions that I made
A choice of admiration turned disdain
A friendship betrayed
By the whispers of a boy who had
Turned all attention his way
Learn to be friends
At that age it's hard to see
Learn to fight your enemies
We're attracted to those things
Those things we wish we could be
The two Kevins taught me a lesson
A lesson in life a lesson in pain
A lesson in friendship, a lesson
I would learn again and again
A changing of time
As our interests went their way
And the friends we made passed us by
A changing of place
Where we were at that time and the
Course that our own lives would take
Learn to be friends
To those who reach to you inside
Learn to fight your enemies
Holding back your fists because
You can fight them with your mind
The two Kevins taught me a lesson
A lesson in life a lesson in pain
A lesson in friendship, a lesson
I would learn again and again
They wouldn't learn who's
Friendships were genuine
It didn't shine through
Eventually I saw the way
Lead by the people who's hearts
