Minecraft: Story Mode

Minecraft: Story Mode is an ongoing episodic point-and-click graphic adventure video game based on the sandbox video game Minecraft, with the first episode released worldwide in October 2015 for Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, and iOS, with subsequent episodes each following a month or two afterwards. The game is being developed by Telltale Games, in association with Mojang, the original developer company of Minecraft.

The game follows the episodic format that Telltale used for its titles The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones. The game centers around a new character, named Jesse, who can be either male or female, as they and their allies attempt to save their world by defeating the Witherstorm.

Gameplay

Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic interactive comedy-drama point-and-click graphic adventure video game similar to Telltale's other games, released as a number of episodes. The player will collect items, solve puzzles, and talk to non-player characters through conversation trees to learn about the story and determine what to do next. Like other Telltale Games, decisions that the player makes will impact events in the current and later episodes. However, unlike Telltale's previous games that tend to carry more mature or emotional overtones including the death of major characters, Minecraft: Story Mode is aimed as a family-friendly title, so the decisions will still be pivotal and emotional but will not involve mature imagery or themes. Elements of crafting and building, central to Minecraft, will be included in the gameplay, following a similar approach. The game will feature combat and other action sequences, carried out through both quick time events similar to Telltale's other episodic games, and more arcade-like controls, such as steering around debris on a road.

Bloodstain pattern analysis

Bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA), one of several specialties in the field of forensic science, involves the study and analysis of bloodstains at a known or suspected violent crime scene with the goal of to helping investigators draw conclusions about the nature, timing and other details of the crime.

The use of bloodstains as evidence is not new; however, the application of modern science has brought it to a higher level since the 1970s and '80s. New technologies, especially advances in DNA analysis, are available for detectives and criminologists to use in solving crimes and apprehending offenders.

The science of bloodstain pattern analysis applies scientific knowledge from other fields to solve practical problems. Bloodstain pattern analysis draws on the scientific disciplines of biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics. If an analyst follows a scientific process, this applied science can produce strong, solid evidence, making it an effective tool for investigators, although care does need to be taken when relying on bloodstain pattern analysis in criminal cases. A report released by The National Academy of Sciences calls for more standardization within the field. The report highlights the ability of blood spatter analysts to overstate their qualifications and the reliability of their methods in the court room.

The Rubens

The Rubens are a five-piece alternative rock band originally from Menangle, New South Wales. The band comprises the three Margin brothers, Zaac, Sam and Elliott, and friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis. Their debut self-titled album The Rubens gained them domestic success with it reaching No. 3 on the ARIA Charts and being nominated for a J Award for Album of the Year.

In 2011, their debut single, "Lay It Down", was voted the 57th-most-popular song in the Triple J Hottest 100. Their next single, "My Gun", was nominated for Best Music Video in the 2012 ARIA Awards and was also voted 10th-most popular song in the Triple J Hottest 100.

In May 2015, the band released the lead single from their second album, called "Hallelujah". The album, Hoops, was released in August 2015. The follow-up single from the album, the title track "Hoops", reached number 25 on the ARIA Singles Chart in 2015 and was voted number one in the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2015 held on Australia day 2016 ( January 26th). After its success on the Hottest 100, the single re-entered the charts, reaching a new peak of #9 on the ARIA Singles Chart in February 2016.
