An anarchist look at the forest fires in south-central Chile

An anarchist look at the forest fires in south-central Chile
And on the attempts of the power to take advantage aiming at the Mapuche and anarchist subversion.

For a couple of weeks, the expansion of various firefighting areas in the forest industry business in the south-central part of the country has been reported in Chile. These fires were spread over various territories and have resulted in irreparable damage to various natural ecosystems and native forests, reaching homes and causing the deaths of people and a large number of animals in what is already a true ecocide that is still continuing.

These forest fires and their consequences have become the subject of the news agenda in recent weeks, with the political, business and media class (dis)informing and imposing a version of the origin of the fires that omits- or leaves last – any responsibility on the part of forestry companies. In turn, given the magnitude of the catastrophe, several groups and organizations seek to support the devastated territories and criticize from various positions the way the government has tackled the problem. Forest occupation in Bure – Stop the nuclear monster (France)

Saturday, November 26th, 2016

Emergency call-out from the forest occupation in Bure, France: the nuclear monster is coming in for a kill

You know how these occupations often go: bad people start destroying the environment, good people intervene, and in the end the bad people get the papers to favour them and start the bulldozers once more. This is exactly what just happened in the woods of Lejuc, near the village of Bure in France. And that’s why we need you. To come. Here. And resist. Big time.

«Some people re-occupied this forest two months ago. To support them I decided to put myself on the line and officially squat the place. I changed my home address here, there’s a mailbox and everything now, and I’m an official resident. Hopefully I’ll makes destroying all this a bit more difficult for Andra bastards!» says Sven Lindstrom, the first official squatter of the Lejuc forest. For obvious reasons he’s entitled to have his say in this call-out. (more…)

Hambach Forest: Solidarity to imprisoned Sarah and Huba (Germany)

Thursday, March 24th, 2016

After the courtcase of LAUtonomia activist Sarah on the 22 of March at the court district of Cottbus our compa Huba got arrested. Sarah was released and got arrested straight away again for something else but we do not have the info on why and for what. Sarah was in jail for a month for not giving ID after getting caught shoplifting. When leaving the courtroom civil cops and the screws hold Huba at the door and confronted him with a warrant for his arrest. The same day he saw a judge in Cottbuss. He came as a spectator for the court case and left in hand-cuffs.

Right now he is in the JVA Wriezen and will be transported to Aachen this week. He is charged with violent assault that allegedly happened the 11 of November in the cutting area of the Hambach forest.

We do not know how long it will take for Huba to arrive in Aachen. prisoner transport normally takes quite a long time. Huba will be transported from prison to prison where he will be put in one person cells with no access to books, sports or other things that you would normally get when you are in jail. when arriving in Duren he will be seeing another judge. Urgent – Hambach Forest Eviction (Germany)

Wednesday, March 16th, 2016

Ongoing eviction in the Hambach forest! Support needed!!

15.03.2016 – Yesterday morning the meadow occupation was surrounded by cops. This turned into a huge police operation: All main paths in the forest were cleared, fixed and broadened, all barricades and tripods destroyed. Until today four unoccupied platforms were evicted. Police forces are still present all around, chasing people who try to build new barricades…

This is an urgent call-out for all kinds of support! What has happened the last two days is a massive attack! Because all the roads are cleared and passable for big machinery, it is important to protect the forest occupations NOW!
Come to the Hambach forest, we need food, water, blankets and most of all more people with fresh energy!

Text concerning Hambach Forest (Germany)

Friday, January 29th, 2016

The conflict against RWE at Hambacher forest has intensified with every
day since the beginning of this new year.

Many individuals embracing a diverse variety of tactics have been hard
at work bringing anarchic mischief to the mine.

Some elements of practical refusal from the occupiers of the forest
include:

* The continuous barricading of the roads used by security and
construction vehicles, as well as structural damage to the bridges they
use with fire and pick axes.

*Tree-spiking and the placement of “potential improvised explosive
devices” in threatened areas of the forest, as well as more and more
barricades, platforms and tree-defenses deeper in the woods.

Newest information about the Hambi-prisoners

Yesterday evening we got new information about the conditions and developments concerning the 3 prisoners from the forest occupation, who are at the moment imprisoned in Aachen and Cologne. We want to give an update to everyone interested and call out for solidarity. At the moment, there are no public names for the two persons arrested last Thursday, so they’ll be called A. and B. in this text.

All 3 prisoners suffer from injuries they had inflicted on them during their arrest. How the situation exactly went and if they were hurt by police or security, we don’t know. Mr. Blue, who is imprisoned for several weeks now, can’t hear well out of his left ear, and he can’t feel two fingers on his left hand. Since he is in prison, he is not been allowed to see the prison-doctor. (more…)

Another comrade arrested and detained in Hambach Forest Struggle (Germany)

Thursday, October 15th, 2015

After our comrade Jus got out of prison, and is freely walking amongst us again,
another comrade got kidnapped by the police.

The 7th of October the person blockaded one of the conveyor belts in the Hambach
mine. When this belt stops, some diggers stand still and the trains can not be
filled with coal. This mine is second biggest open cast mine of Europe, This area
is the biggest Co2 emitter of Europe.

It is reported that he got beaten by security as well as police, with a broken
wrist, bruises and a red eye as a result. Allegedly photos where taken of the
person at 5 different actions in which the detainee allegedly was involved. They
are accusing him of assault because he allegedly bit a security guard, also
trespassing, ‘disturbing of public enterprises’ resisting and insulting police
officers, are on the list of charges. (more…)

Solidarity with Dariusz 'Jus' Brzeski – Hambach Forest Struggle (Germany)

Monday, September 7th, 2015

6 weeks ago our comrade Jus got taken from us at the eviction of Remi’s Tower, a huge barricade built in honour of Remi Fraisse, who got killed by the freakin cops.

The first 3 weeks Jus was on hunger strike and as a reaction to that the cops told him he did not have a lawyer registered (which he had) and put him in a isolation cell, where it is hard to sleep because they check every 15 minutes if you are not dead yet by turning the lights on and off. All the letters he receives now get checked and it takes about 2 to 4 weeks for them to get to him. He is in prison for 6 weeks and only had two visits. It is extremely difficult to arrange visits, because there has to be an interpreter at all times, and they want audio-visual surveillance. Also his phone privileges are restricted to only his lawyer (even though everyone else can call whoever the fuck they want) and even about that they are being assholes. (more…)

Athens: Dynamic protest against destructive gold mining in the ancient forests of Halkidiki (Greece)

Sunday, April 26th, 2015

On 16 April 2015 a dynamic protest took place, despite the provocations of the Greek riot police operating under the left government of SYRIZA, in solidarity to the residents of Halkidiki in northern Greece fighting against the destruction of their homes, the environment and the pollution of drinking water in their area due to gold mining operations.

A few years ago the multinational gold mining company Eldorado Gold settled in Skouries and with the backing of powerful domestic private interests has begun large-scale mining activities. Thus, the irreversible destruction of the ecosystem of Skouries and the contamination of soil and groundwater with heavy metals throughout western Halkidiki has already started.

Comrade killed by police defending the wetland of Testet (ZAD, France)

Tuesday, October 28th, 2014

From rabbleldn, reposted from squat.net and contrainfo:

According to a statement from squatters in the ZAD (occupied “zone to be defended”) of Notre-Dame-des-Landes, during the night between Saturday and Sunday the 26th of October 2014 a protester named Remi was killed in clashes that broke out after a rally against the construction of a dam along the Sivens forest in the wetland of Testet in the Tarn department (southern France).

Around 7000 people gathered in the ZAD (zone to be defended) of Testet, after months of police attacks and destruction of the wetland and habitations of those who defend the area. In the late evening and overnight, dozens of people attacked the forces of order that were protecting the dam construction site. Activists expressed their anger trying to delay the resumption of works, originally scheduled for Monday the 27th of October.

The cops fired rubber bullets (known as flash-balls), distraction devices such as stun hand grenades and fragmentation grenades, and tear gases. According to testimonies of protesters from the Testet wetland area, Remi must have collapsed after being hit with a grenade; then his body was reportedly taken by the repressive forces.

Prefectural authorities stated they did not want to comment on the matter before the official autopsy was made public on Monday. The government has already begun to stigmatize the protesters, in addition to trying to divide them in order to cover up what happened. But they know very well that, whatever they do, this death will have explosive consequences.

'My adventures with Interpol' by Pyotr Silaev (Spain, Finland, Russia)

Friday, August 16th, 2013

On 22 August 2012, the anti-fascist Pyotr Silaev was arrested in Grenada. He is an activist in anti-governmental protests, and the author of the book “Exodus” (published in Finland, Greece, Italy and Germany), under the pseudonym DJ Stalingrad. Pyotr took part in the infamous protests in Khimki, which for some protestors ended in jail or hospital (as it did for the renowned journalist Oleg Kashin, who was attacked with baseball bats near his home). Around 400 young people threw stones and flares at the administrative office of the town in protest against the construction of the Moscow – St. Petersburg highway through the Khimki forest – one of the few remaining green oases around Moscow. The situation bore some similarity to the recent events in Istanbul. (more…)

Excavator and bulldozer torched in Moscow region during the ongoing Khimki forest struggle (Russia)

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

During the night of 08/03/13 we placed 3 incendiaries on construction vehicles in a sand extraction complex of Solnechnogorsk district (near Moscow).

The sand from this site goes to the highway construction projects in Khimki forest as well as some other regional development projects. Two vehicles were completely destroyed: a tracked dozer and an excavator.

Because of damp weather one of the devices failed to ignite, so we had to backtrack. With ravaging flames from burning excavator at our backs, we approached the bomb and re-wired it.

Wholehearted support to CCF-Russia, Indonesian rebels from Kulon-Progo, ALF/ELF/FAI groups around the world.
Combative solidarity with “ALF lone wolf” Walter Bond, imprisoned members of Greek CCF, Marco Camenisch and Italian anarchist persecuted under the police operations of 2012 like Thor etc.
Felicity Rider: remain free!
Tortuga: we enjoyed reading your letters man!

Black February: Message of Solidarity from some people of the ZAD and elsewhere (France)

Sunday, February 24th, 2013

Message of solidarity from some people of the ZAD (Zone A Défendre) and elsewhere in France, an occupied area against an international airport and metropolisation project.

With pleasure, we heard of the reactions of solidarity against the evictions at Athens in December and January : United States, India, England, Canada, Australia, Japan, Chile… and also the numerous actions and demonstrations through Greece.

In split of contexts differences here or elsewhere, the same mechanisms of repression sweep down on all those who struggle against the imposition of what our lives should be. And who wants a liberty which have an other flavour than the sad liberty to survive in their international competition in silence. (more…)

Self-Determination and Self-Defense in Cherán, Michoacán (Mexico)

Thursday, January 10th, 2013

From El Enemigo Comun – by Simòn Sedillo / via anarchistnews

On December 11, 2012, the US Justice Department announced that banking giant HSBC was immune from prosecution despite overwhelming evidence that they consistently failed to implement controls against money-laundering. Assistant attorney general Lanny Breuer said: “Had the US authorities decided to press criminal charges, HSBC would almost certainly have lost its banking license in the US, the future of the institution would have been under threat and the entire banking system would have been destabilized.”

The entire banking system would have been destabilized?

The Department of Justice opted rather to charge HSBC a record-breaking 1.9 billion dollar fine, and ordered the bank’s activities monitored for five years. The 1.9 billion is equivalent to five weeks’ worth of HSBC earnings, in other words, a drop in the bucket. The saddest part of the story in the mainstream media, is the focus on money laundered and money fined, as opposed to lives lost and crime legitimized in one of the most grotesque admissions of complicity with organized crime in the so-called war on drugs. Basically what was announced to the world by the US Justice Department was that the money ran too thick, and the criminals were too powerful. The global economic impact of prosecuting a bank where the dirty money has been going, was too dangerous to risk. “Sorry kids, but we guess the bad guys win.” (more…)
