It girl

An "It Girl" is slang for a beautiful, stylish young woman who possesses sex appeal without flaunting her sexuality. The phrase is believed to have originated as in British upper class society around the turn of the 20th century. An early literary usage of the term "it" in this context may be traced to a 1904 short story by Rudyard Kipling: "It isn't beauty, so to speak, nor good talk necessarily. It's just 'It'." The expression reached global attention in 1927, with the popularity of the Paramount Studios film It, starring Clara Bow. Elinor Glyn, the notorious English novelist who wrote the book It and the screenplay based on it, lectured: "With 'It,' you win all men if you are a woman and all women if you are a man. 'It' can be a quality of the mind as well as a physical attraction." Glyn, who first rose to fame as the author of the scandalous 1907 bestseller Three Weeks, is usually credited with the invention of the "It Girl" concept, although it predates her book and movie. But she is definitely responsible for the impact the term had on the culture of the 1920s.

"Oh Oh" is a song written by Guy Sebastian and Jarrad Rogers and is the third and final single from Sebastian's second studio album, Beautiful Life. It was released on 6 March 2005. The single peaked at No. 11 on the ARIA Charts.

Jason Joel Desrouleaux (French pronunciation: ​[deʁuˈlo]; born September 21, 1989), better known by his stage name Jason Derulo (an alternate spelling of his name, which he pronounces English pronunciation: /dəˈɹuloʊ/), is an American singer, songwriter and dancer. He began as a singer performing covers on YouTube, where he gained a sizable following. He later released dozens of singles and four full albums.

Career

Jason Chen began his music career in 2007 while he was in his sophomore year. Jason Chen evolved from performing covers of songs from famous music artists on YouTube to producing and performing original music.

He released his album, Gravity, and the single “Best Friend”, which now has over ten million views. He has also performed in various countries such as Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan, as well as throughout the United States. Although Jason did not receive positive response initially, he started to gain more views in 2010.

Girl

A girl is a female human from birth through childhood and adolescence to attainment of adulthood when she becomes a woman. The term girl may also be used to mean a young woman, and is often used as a synonym for daughter.

Etymology

The English word girl first appeared during the Middle Ages between 1250 and 1300 CE and came from the Anglo-Saxon words gerle (also spelled girle or gurle). The Anglo-Saxon word gerela meaning dress or clothing item also seems to have been used as a metonym in some sense.

Girl has meant any young unmarried woman since about 1530. Its first noted meaning for sweetheart is 1648. The earliest known appearance of girl-friend is in 1892 and girl next door, meant as a teenaged female or young woman with a kind of wholesome appeal, dates only to 1961.

Usage for adults

The word girl is sometimes used to refer to an adult female, usually a younger one. This usage may be considered derogatory or disrespectful in professional or other formal contexts, just as the term boy can be considered disparaging when applied to an adult man. Hence, this usage is often deprecative. It can also be used deprecatively when used to discriminate against children ("you're just a girl").
