The UNCT retreat provided an opportunity for strategic restructuring and to discuss the new UN Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework (UN MSDF), its putting into practice through the Country Implementation Plan (CIP) and the communications and promotion for the UNCT in Trinidad and Tobago.

One Caribbean 2030 Conference, 2017

This conference was organised to advance and accelerate regional action on the Sustainable Development Goals, also known as Agenda 2030. The conference was hosted by the Government of Jamaica and organized by the United Nations in the Caribbean in partnership with the University of the West Indies.

Representatives of the UNDP attended the office of the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development, Tobago House of Assembly on 27th November 2017. At the meeting, the involvement of the Tobago Regional Health Authority in a proposal for Human Resource Intervention at all Regional Health Authorities initiated by the Ministry of Health and managed by the UNDP.

“Caribbean Environmental Information Week was hosted in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad”

The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GORTT) under the Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD), along with the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), The Federal Government of Brazil (FGB) and The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) hosted the Caribbean Environmental Information Week at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The main objective of the conference was to agree on a strategy between the participating stakeholders, to monitor and report on the State of the Environment as it pertains to the Caribbean region.

The United Nations Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework (UN MSDF) defines how the UN will jointly achieve development results in partnership with 18 English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries and Overseas Territories for the period 2017-2021.
