Smarter business banking -- How to process payments within St George Business Banking Online to credit, debit and/or payroll from your account. Title: St George Business Banking Online -- How To Process Payments Intro Screen: With Business Banking Online, there are lots of ways to process payments. These include: - Direct Entry or "D-E" file payments - Transferring funds to a third party or between your own accounts - Transferring funds in real time (within the same day) - Paying bills via BPAY - Overseas Telegraphic Transfers This video will take a look at two facilitating Direct Entry Payments. Frame 1: First, let's take a look at creating a new Direct Entry Payment. A Direct Entry payment is a simple way to transfer funds to one of more accounts within Australia by creating or importing a batch file. To begin, select Direct Entry from the Transactions drop down menu, then click on Create DE from the sub-menu. Click on the drop-down menu next to Create Payment Type and select "Credit" if you intend transferring funds to other bank accounts, or select "Debit" if you intend to withdraw funds from other bank accounts to receive payments. Select Payroll if you wish to process a staff payroll. It's important to note that the company administrator will need to grant Payroll access on the accounts that you require to make these payroll payments from. Frame 2: On the bottom left hand side of the screen you'll see a box under the word "Account." Click on this, and then select the account from which you'd like to deposit the funds for this transfer from the list of your accounts above. The description box is there for you to enter a description of the transaction that will be meaningful to you in the future. The Remitter name and DE user ID fields will be populated based on which account you select in the previous step. It's important to note -- the "Nominated Billing Account" drop down selects which account you wish your fees for this transaction to be withdrawn from. Click "Next" to continue. Input the details into the corresponding fields. After you've completed the record, click Add Record to continue adding more records. If you have Third Parties already set up, you can Auto populate the fields by right clicking on the fields and selecting the Third Party you wish to use. Once you're satisfied with your DE Payment, click Validate to proceed. A Receipt will be displayed confirming your payment. Click OK to continue. This will take you to the Work In Progress or "W-I-P" screen where you can continue with Authorising and Submitting this payment to the bank. Frame 3: You can also import DE files from your business's financial management software. To do this, click on Direct Entry under the Transactions drop-down menu and click on Import DE from the sub-menu. Input a description for the transaction and click on Browse to locate your file, which should be saved on your computer. Once you've found the file, click Import to continue. The file will be automatically imported from the location you have selected and dropped into the DE editor displaying details of each record on this file. You may amend information here if you wish by clicking on any field and changing the information. You may delete a payment line by clicking on Sequence Number to highlight the payment then click on Delete Record at the bottom of the screen. When ready, click Validate DE to continue. By clicking Validate DE the system will validate or double check the information you have entered into your file. It will check that there are no blank fields and that the BSB you have entered is a valid BSB. A Receipt will then be displayed confirming your payment. Click OK to continue. This will take you to the Work In Progress or "W-I-P" screen where you can continue with Authorising and Submitting this payment to the bank.
