Mukalla, a seaport and the capital city of Yemen's Hadramout Governorate, is located in the Southeast coast of Yemen and on the shores of the Arabian Sea. For decades, fishing has been the main career for many of the Mukalla residents.
Mohammed Mansour Yahiya, a coffee farmer in his 30s from Al-Dharif village, Burra District of Hodeida Governorate, did not lose hope despite facing unbearable hardships in such tough times.
Otrah , 24, a young women who lives in a very small house in Aslam district owns 30 bee hives and sells honey to different markets and individuals in Hajjah city.
The 24-month Emergency Crisis Response Project (ECRP) aims to mitigate the impact of the current crisis on local households and communities and assist their recovery from the bottom-up using local systems, capacities and institutions to progressively resume and scale-up service delivery.
United Nations Development Programme in Yemen launched the “Restore the disrupted livelihoods of crisis-affected populations” component within the framework of the Yemen Stabilization Programme.
UNDP has actively supported HMA (Humanitarian Mine Action) nationwide in Yemen since the late 1990s working with the national implementers. The aim of UNDP’s intervention has remained constant to reduce or eliminate the impact EO (Explosive Ordnance) has on the civilian population, infrastructure and economy.
