No disrespect. I LOVE these plays.. I have performed both Hal in Henry IV 1&2 and Henry in Henry V... I’m just very excited to bring this story to the screen in a different way. Skip if you will or judge on its merit when it happens.

I very much enjoyed people’s recommendations on Shakespeare for children on Front Row. I would go for Macbeth as the perfect entry play. (And Love’s Labour’s Lost as the opposite of that).

I have a ticket for performance tonight at 7:30 pm at the aptly named Monarch Tavern. I *also* have walking pneumonia. So who would like to see some brilliant Shakespeare while enjoying a pint? DM me.

Forgot to mention that The Tempest is increasingly becoming THE entry point for Shakespeare in UK primary schools. Children really seem to relate to it. (Pic: perform The Tempest for )

Shamefully, I neglected to credit for the above graphic – so belated thanks for that! Check out for all your Robert Pattinson fan needs. (The connection is that Robert may be up for a part in the Shakespeare adaptation)

And at least three major publishers do Shakespeare 'retold for children' books (£4.99 each, but you can often get the full set for £9.99). These are great for the grown-ups too – if you don't know Shakespeare, you can learn alongside your little ones.

The Pop-Up Shakespeare book from the Reduced Shakespeare Company is a delightful way for families with young children to enter and explore Shakespeare's worlds.

The CBeebies production of A Midsummer Night's Dream (2016) is a fantastic introduction to Shakespeare for younger children (and their grown-ups). Also, there are really good Horrible Histories-style touring shows like the Ruff Guide to Shakespeare.

The Joel Edgerton Henry IV/Henry V thing is going to be "Game of Thrones meets Shakespeare". But with all the Shakespeare taken out.
