The A-Team is an American action-adventure television series, running from 1983 to 1987, about a fictitious former United States Army Special Forces unit who, after being court-martialed "for a crime they didn't commit", escape from military prison and, while still on the run, work as soldiers of fortune. A feature film based on the series was released by 20th Century Fox in June 2010.
The A-Team was created by writers and producers Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo at the behest of Brandon Tartikoff, NBC's Entertainment president. Cannell was fired from ABC in the early 1980s, after failing to produce a hit show for the network, and was hired by NBC; his first project was The A-Team. Brandon Tartikoff pitched the series to Cannell as a combination of The Dirty Dozen, Mission Impossible, The Magnificent Seven, Mad Max and Hill Street Blues, with "Mr. T driving the car".
The A-Team was not generally expected to become a hit, although Stephen J. Cannell has said that George Peppard suggested it would be a huge hit "before we ever turned on a camera". The show became very popular; the first regular episode, which aired after Super Bowl XVII on January 30, 1983, reached 26.4% of the television audience, placing fourth in the top 10 Nielsen-rated shows.
Team building is a collective term for various types of activities used to enhance social relations and define roles within teams, often involving collaborative tasks. It is distinct from team training, which is designed to improve the efficiency, rather than interpersonal relations.
Many team building exercises are intended to expose and address interpersonal problems within the group.
Over time, these activities are intended to improve performance in a team-based environment. Team building is one of the foundations of organizational development that can be applied to groups such as sports teams, school classes, military units or flight crews. The formal definition of team-building includes:
Team building is one of the most widely used group development activities in organizations.
Of all organizational activities, one study found team-development to have the strongest effect (versus financial measures) for improving organizational performance. Recent meta-analyses show that team development activities, including team building and team training, improve both a team’s objective performance and that team's subjective supervisory ratings.
A team is a group of people or other animals linked in a common purpose. Human teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks.
A group does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Naresh Jain (2009) claims:
Team members need to learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential, and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond his or her limitations. Teams can be broken down into from a huge team or one big group of people, even if these smaller secondary teams are temporary.
A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members.
Thus teams of game players can form (and re-form) to practise their craft/sport. Transport logistics executives can select teams of horses, dogs, or oxen for the purpose of conveying passengers or goods.
Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It is performed for various reasons, including strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, honing athletic skills, weight loss or maintenance, and merely enjoyment. Frequent and regular physical exercise boosts the immune system and helps prevent the "diseases of affluence" such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, and obesity. It may also help prevent stress and depression, help to promote or maintain positive self-esteem, improve mental health generally, and can augment an individual's sex appeal or body image, which has been found to be linked with higher levels of self-esteem.Childhood obesity is a growing global concern, and physical exercise may help decrease some of the effects of childhood and adult obesity. Some care providers call exercise the "miracle" or "wonder" drug—alluding to the wide variety of benefits that it can provide for many individuals.

It is the sequel to Portal (2007) and was released on April 19, 2011, for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The retail versions of the game are distributed by Electronic Arts while online distribution of the Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux versions is handled by Valve's content delivery service Steam. Before the game's release on Steam, the company released the Potato Sack, a second multi-week alternate reality game, involving 13 independently developed titles which culminated in a distributed computing spoof to release Portal 2 several hours early.

This way the team will get to know how they perceive one another in a light-hearted manner. Everyone will get a turn to divide the team into different categories. The one who comes up with a categorie or subject points to someone else who will come up with 3 subcategories that the team will be divided in to. This also means you can give other participants a tough time coming up with subcategories with themes like: ‘secret fantasies’ or ‘types of catfish’. The person naming the subcategories has to come at least with 3 suggestions or more depending on the group ...

The point is that the team members senses in silence when the next number is going to be said. The challenge of the exercise is to alternately say a number without speaking at the same time. Sometimes there are long silences between the numbers and sometimes the pauses are very short. How come during some attempts the team reaches to a high number, and during another attempt they fail at a very low number? This can have several reasons: 1. To repeat old success After a round in which the team has achieved a high number, such as 26 , the team tends to repeat its...

When all the cards have been distributed everyone will see which traits have been assigned to him or her. This way, everyone immediately gets an image of how they are being perceived by the other team members. The team members distritube positi...

At the end of this exercise everyone has a note from every member of the team with one characterization that describes him the best. The game element (the person gets to guess who gave him which notes) in the exercise makes it lighthearded and fun to play. Some times the person guesses correctly, other times it’s completely wrong. These guesses tell something about the person receiving the notes. This exercise can be played in various ways in order to make it fit for all audiences. During the exercise you can use a couple of methods to give more ...
I don't remember the precise date, I'm sure there was one. But I do remember the shift. The moment when I realized that my effort alone could never be enough. I know I didn't learn this in school, when we had team projects, we survived because the stronger individuals stepped in to get the project done. Time after time, heavy lifting by individuals to get the team across the line. I realized it much later and after I did, I became mindful of the importance of proactively investing in building high performance teams. Sometimes advice in this area sounds so cliché to me like "Eat less, exercise more" which is the best advice out there for shedding excess pounds but somehow so difficult to do. This tip is a little bit like that: "Make time for your team to get to know each other a...

We’ve all been here before…We’re in the gym training and look over to see the person next to us doing something we would consider to be “abnormal” or “sub-optimal”. This could be anything from half-squats, to eccentric bench-press training, to static-holds. However, before we judge too quickly, are there actually some situations where these approaches have logical application? In today’s episode, Andrea, Brad and Eric discuss the rationale behind using different training tools. Techniques covered include: bands, chains, pause-squats, half-squats, heavy walk-outs, tempo-training, and more. As with almost every other nutrition and training related question, the application of these tools is situation dependent. There needs to be specific rationale for your choices, versus simply random ap...
