Public Domain is a 2003 Canadian film about reality TV. It was directed by Kris Lefcoe and stars Nicole de Boer, Mike Beaver, Lindy Booth and Dov Tiefenbach. The film is openly critical of reality TV and portrays the hosts and producers as cruel and heartless people. While it was considered a "feature" film, it has toured film festivals more than it has been screened in cinemas.
Public Domain is a reality TV game show in which the producers infiltrate the contestants' homes without their knowledge and place them under surveillance for the world to see. In a Big Brother-style twist, viewers vote for who they think is the funniest and most dysfunctional contestant, and the top three based on these votes are chosen as the finalists.
Public domain status below Grant and Hepburn Before 1978, U.S. copyright law required works to include the word "Copyright," the abbreviation "Copr." or the "©" symbol. Because Universal Pictures included no proper copyright notice with Charade, the film entered public domain in the USA immediately upon its release. Copies of this movie, made from film prints of varying quality, have been available on VHS and DVD based on its status in the public domain. However, while the film itself is public domain, the original music remains under copyright if outside of the context of the film* Universal released an official VHS cassette of the film, transferred from original elements. However, when DVD was introduced, they licensed the film to The Criterion Collection rather than release it themselv...
This public domain movie is a classic example of film noir and one of my favorite movies. In it, a guy is poisoned by radiation poisoning put in his drink, and he knows he is going to die, but in with his remaining time he dedicates himself to discovering who killed him, and why. It wasn't on YouTube yet so I thought I'd put it up. Orchard-L, author of Boundless Ocean, Missing, and who is helping me make Saturated Dreamers, recommended the movie to me. If you are in the mood to watch some scary classic movie on Halloween for free, here is your chance. Here are 5 popular horror movies that have been released in public domain, because they failed to renew copyright or file the copyright properly. These movies are available on Youtube for free and the links are provided within the video above. Here are these 5 movies: 1- Night of the Living Dead (1968): This movie (directed by George A. Romero) tells the story of several people trapped in a rural farmhouse in Pennsylvania while the house is attacked by zombies. The film has effectively redefined the term "zombie" as "reanimated, flesh-eating cannibals" and is widely known as a classic horror movie. 2- In "Horror Express" (1972), an anthropologist is transferring a monster on board of a tr...
Pleasures of the living flesh verses the rantings of fanatical religious preachings are aptly displayed in this screen adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham's story Miss Sadie Thompson. Sadie Thompson (Joan Crawford) is a sassy prostitute who lands in Pago Pago in the South Pacific after an epidemic grounds the ship on which she's booked passage. Sadie's good looks, free spirit, and quick wit soon attract the attention of a group of American soldiers stationed on the island; while most are motivated by simple lust, the naive Sgt. O'Hara (William Gargan) falls in love with Sadie, thoroughly unaware of her checkered past and real profession. Rev. Alfred Davidson (Walter Huston father of actor director John Huston), a fire-and-brimstone pompous preacher bent on bringing salvation to the soldiers,...
Naudet brothers 9/11 film documentary free movie public domain 9/11 is a 2002 French-American documentary film about the September 11 attacks in New York City, in which two planes crashed into the buildings of the World Trade Center. The film is from the point of view of the New York City Fire Department. The film was directed by Jules and Gedeon Naudet, and FDNY firefighter James Hanlon.[1]
It's 1959, and the beatnik culture is in full swing, cats! Drug dealer Nico (the late great Peter Falk) ain't no square, he makes a fine living supplying his club patrons, each one trying to find meaning in a new, atomic, capitalist world through art, culture, and cannabis smoke. However, Nico starts to think like the beatniks, even becoming their leader... but its not enough. With gullible Francis in tow (Ron Hartmann), the pair lace a kid's hamburger with broken glass, killing him horribly... for kicks. It's up to Cliff (Jack Betts), brother of the murdered kid, and Ellie (Barbora Lord), Nico's girlfriend (sort of) to help the cops pin the murder on Nico. Peter Falk steals the show, and this film really plays with the beatnik stereotype. It's not often a good idea to let you know who the...

Hello Everyone! Here's a Comedy-Drama from the 1930s with Robert Armstrong, Dixie Lee, Nydia Westman, Franklin Pangborn (He's a hoot!) and others that you may recognize. The story is fun...I couldn't think of a way to synopsize (is that a word?) for you without giving too much of the story away. So, just sit back, relax, and enjoy a light-hearted Classic!

Frank Sinatra is going to shoot the President! Yes, THE Frank Sinatra, and his performance is, frankly, brilliant and chilling, matching the tone of the film perfectly. Frank plays John Baron, hired killer, World War 2 veteran and psychopath. What follows a somewhat slow start is a great crime drama/home invasion in one with good performances all round that will have you on the edge of your seat, wondering how on Earth anyone's going to get out of this. Allegedly, Frank asked United Artists to remove this film from circulation after he learned Lee Harvey Oswald had seen the movie prior to assassinating President Kennedy in 1963. True or not, this film is indeed a classic, and came a full 9 years before that terrible event. If anything, and with no disrespect to the late JFK, that assassina...

The Pawnshop was Charlie Chaplin's sixth film for Mutual Film Corporation. Released on October 2, 1916, it stars Chaplin in the role of assistant to the pawnshop owner, played by Henry Bergman. Edna Purviance plays the owner's daughter, while Albert Austin appears as an alarm clock owner who watches Chaplin in dismay as he dismantles the clock; the massive Eric Campbell's character attempts to rob the shop. This was one of Chaplin's more popular movies for Mutual, mainly for the slapstick comedy he was famous for at the time. Duck and Cover was a social guidance film produced in 1951 by the United States federal government's Civil Defense branch shortly after the Soviet Union began nuclear testing. Written by Raymond J. Mauer and directed by Anthony Rizzo of Archer Productions and made with the help of schoolchildren from New York City and Astoria, New York, it was shown in schools as the cornerstone of the government's "duck and cover" public awareness campaign. The movie states that nuclear war could happen at any time without warning, and U.S. citizens should keep this constantly in mind and be ever ready. All of these reviews are for a laugh and are DEFINATELY NOT to be taken seriously. Review #2, Atom Age Vampire, a crud piece of cinema that doesn't actually involve a vampire... Dont mail me claiming youve got rights or a license because you dont, You CANNOT claim rights to films that are 'Public Domain', you Retards!!
It's William Shatner's first ever film role! Well, he's only playing "a crook" for a few minutes, but hey. Well, since it's not really about him, let's talk about the movie instead. An early example of Quebec cinema, this somewhat amusing film follows Roche LaRousse (Paul Colbert), a social worker of a boy's club, and his attempts to marry "The Girl" (Mary Lou Hennessy) and get a big cheque from her father (Eric Workman) to buy/develop a camp for his wards. Unfortunately, the butler (Peter Sturgess) is in love with The Girl, and will even try to frame LaRousse for murder if it means getting rid of him. I would go into more detail, but honestly the plot of the film is a little hard to follow. It seems awkwardly cut in places, and this being the only copy we have at 57 minutes, whilst IMDB g...
I have recently been contacted by youtube reguarding the Talking Magpies cartoon wich was as far as I know public domain. Apparently GoMedia Group has somehow recopyrighted the cartoon. As of yet it is still on youtube. Just wanted all of the youtube uploaders who believe they have uploaded a public domain video that some corporation out there could some how purchase rights to something that doesn't belong to anyone anymore. Just imagine finding something buried for years in your back yard and someone comes up to you and demands you give it back to them.
Grabbed some solo releases and hope you enjoy the list

This Pac-Man clone has 32 levels, after that, the game continues from level 1 (but the level counter don't reset) again, but with the extra bonus food stuff to the left and the current score intact (of course). As the game repeats itself after level 32, I kill myself to show the high-score stuff (54:35), followed by showing the level editor (55:07). I make my own level and play it (57:54). I like the short animation every fourth level :)
ENGINEERED FOR THE STREETS | SINCE 1984 | NEVER COMPLY In June of 1988, Stacy Peralta and Craig Stecyk arrived at Wildberry Court in Edison, NJ to film me for Bones Brigade Video Four: Public Domain. They carried with them the very first samples of my first ever Pro-Model skateboard, which I would be seeing, holding in my hands and riding for the first time. For the next 2.5 days we would film in New Jersey, New York and Washington DC. This footage is basically a long-form version of my part in Public Domain, gently edited down by Mark Nisbet. Not all of the footage is here, there’s a few missing clips / spots but for the most part this is the raw footage that made up Public Domain. Enjoy! — Mike Vallely

i keep an open door
give me one good reason for a war
that keeps raging on
we've all been here before
now we've got to stand up once more
to sing this song
peace on earth
peace on earth
peace on earth
you leaders you seem a bit
out of control
do you see a part of it
do you see the whole
the day is dawning
and look what this age does bring
the world is calling
and you are part of everything
now it's all up to you
i tell you that it's not that hard to do
to get along
we are all waking up
feeling like we've had more than enough
we sing this song
peace on earth
peace on earth
peace on earth
