(en) Czech, afed: Against the politics of fear - Report from the Friday demonstration against the meeting of representatives of the European Fascist Parties in Prague [machine translation]
Date

Okamura's SPD picked up the votes of most of the other xenophobic projects that have been
bidding for voters' favor in the recent elections, which hears well on the argument that
refugees and Islamists are particularly vulnerable to their problems, regardless of
whether or not they are at all. So that after the partici- pation came to Parliament, no
one left in doubt, with whom she was honored, was invited by her chairman to Prague, a
representative of the Europe of Nations and Freedom (ENF) faction, which brings together
right-wing populist parties in the European Parliament. In addition to the French National
Front , based on an open fascist tradition, the Dutch Freedom Party, the Austrian Freedom
or the Italian League of the North are associated.
Such a meeting of fascist prominent people could not be resolved. And so an anti-fascist
coalition of Christian feminists, young greens, anarchists, socialists and others summoned
two protest actions. One on the eve of the conference, 15 December, in front of Prague's
InterContinental Hotel on Parížská Street. The aim of the action was to point to two
things. On the one hand, these parties (and in their gratefulness of their politics, they
are in favor of many traditional political parties) use a policy of fear and hatred on the
political scene, which in turn leads to the denial of racist violence, systemic exclusion
and stigmatization of minorities. Another intention was to point out that there are still
people who do not want to tolerate such a policy and are fully aware of its consequences.
Thus, in the evening after six hours, the InterContinental held 450 people. The mood was
relaxed and the sound of the mobile sound system and the samba band contributed to the
atmosphere. Six o'clock arose from one of the organizers to briefly present the reason for
the event and the subsequent program. Then, with a very good sound, she read out the
organizers' speech, inter alia: "Right-wing populism has become a major threat in recent
years. These are not easily dispersible, and homogeneous movement, while individual groups
from each other on different bases differ significantly - some are neoliberal, other
social (albeit only for those who know how to be born in the right place with the right
skin tone). Some are anti-Semitic and the other, on the other hand, are protecting the
Jews from Muslim evil. But they have one important link. To gain the power they use the
fears and uncertainties brought about by the crisis of modern society. Their policy is a
policy of exclusion. They are building false alternatives based on nationalism, racism,
Islamophobia, or sexism. However, current events are not a manifestation of barbarity that
has a source outside of our society, as right-wing populists claim to be. On the contrary,
it is a product of the antisocial capitalist forces that formed a modern Europe. Not by
chance, the leaders of these movements are often associated with capital and the business
environment. Their policy is not really social - focusing on all those who need help. "She
further emphasized that the current boom of right-wing populism is in particular a
response to the crisis of modern society. Finally, she offered a completely different
alternative - liberated from the rule of man over man: "We strive for a society organized
by the bottom of the social self." Their policy is a policy of exclusion. They are
building false alternatives based on nationalism, racism, Islamophobia, or sexism.

After that, a parade led by the transparency "Against the Fear of Politics! Right-wing
populism is not an alternative. " There were also other thematic banners and pickeys. The
whole march, which led the street on November 17, Krížovnická and after Smetana's
embankment to continue with Národní trída at the National Theater, was accompanied by loud
chanting and singing songs with texts adapted to known melodies. In order to get everyone
involved, song lyrics have been handed out, and it has to be said that the whole event has
been greatly revived, not counting the endless rhythms of samba bandu.
