Channel 4 goes undercover inside the Royal Mail.
I am a Letter Carrier in the US post office. I found this particular episode to be fascinating as to the inner workings of another country's postal office shortcomings. I uploaded this as I could not find a proper source credit to showing my fellow carriers in the USPS how Royal Mail is struggling, and how privatization may not be the answer.
I will happily delete this video as I do not own it. This is purely educational reasons for me uploading such information for US letter carriers.
Royal Mail employees have been on strike for the last 3 days. This video shows what actually happens when they all return to work.

Here's where Christmas is sorted on a giant scale - a massive postal centre dealing with half a million parcels a day. The giant temporary facility has been set up to handle the avalanche of online shopping over the festive period. More than 300 seasonal staff have been taken on to run the sorting centre in Swindon, Wilts - one of eight set up by the Royal Mail around Britain. It will operate for five weeks and will be at its busiest on December 11th when it will process around 500,000 items.

Royal Mail
Royal Mail plc (Welsh: Post Brenhinol; Scottish Gaelic: a' Phuist Rìoghail) is a postal service company in the United Kingdom, originally established in 1516. The company's subsidiary, Royal Mail Group Limited, operates the brands Royal Mail (letters) and Parcelforce Worldwide (parcels). General Logistics Systems, an international logistics company, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Mail Group.

The giant temporary facility has been set up to handle the avalanche of online shopping over the festive period. More than 300 seasonal staff have been taken on to run the sorting centre in Swindon, Wilts - one of eight set up by the Royal Mail around Britain. It will operate for five weeks and will be at its busiest on December 11th when it will process around 500,000 items.

I uploaded this as I could not find a proper source credit to showing my fellow carriers in the USPS how Royal Mail is struggling, and how privatization may not be the answer. Royal Mail - Grimsby - Past & Present Delivery / Sorting Offices
[Now edited down in size, and with sound throughout, captions & titles]. This was shot in late 1995 and early 1996. Its mostly shows the old Victoria Street (Grimsby) Royal Mail Delivery Office (now Argos). A shorter part nearer the end, shows the newer Fotherby Street Delivery Office, just before, and just after staff moved over from the old Delivery Office.

I am a Letter Carrier in the US post office. I found this particular episode to be fascinating as to the inner workings of another country's postal office shortcomings. I uploaded this as I could not find a proper source credit to showing my fellow carriers in the USPS how Royal Mail is struggling, and how privatization may not be the answer.
I will happily delete this video as I do not own it. This is purely educational reasons for me uploading such information for US letter carriers.
