What’s Black Friday?
Black Friday is a number one shopping event that happens every November where customers can get the biggest discounts and deals of the whole year. It is still relatively new to the UK but in 2015 shoppers in the US spent approximately $12 billion on that weekend and of that figure, almost a quarter was generated by online sales.
Black Friday is a big deal to most online shops, especially when customers are willing to spend big over the course of the weekend. It is continuously growing in popularity with more and more shops around the world taking part and prices becoming more competitive every year.
Black Friday Date
Of course Black Friday has a given date – it is always the first Friday after thanksgiving. However, the sales from different shops start at very different points in time. We have observed the following trends during past years:
Black Friday Week
From Monday on, watch out for the so-called “Black Week”. More and more, brands start their amazing discounts early, satisfying even the most impatient of the shoppers. So start your deal hunting rather earlier than later, and you’re guaranteed to be amazed with this year’s offers.
An “Early” Black Friday
Not every shop starts its sale on Friday at midnight. You can always find some deals upfront. On this page you can already get great deals today, even if not a part of the „official“ Black Friday Offers” yet. Come back later to find some of the best bargains, before the big crowd joins.
The Black Friday Weekend
The “Black Friday Weekend” is the entire weekend following the official date. On Saturday and Sunday you can expect some selected new deals, and significantly more on Cyber Monday. Stay tuned and come back during those days as well!
Black Friday meaning, origin,and history
What Day is Black Friday?
Black Friday is always the Friday after Thanksgiving. As Thanksgiving is always the fourth Friday in November, it traditionally falls in line with the start in the Christmas season. In 2018, it is on November 23rd.
What is the difference between Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
Historically Black Friday occured in store with customers rushing to grab as many deals as possible before they’re all taken. The experience can be rough but many enjoy the thrill of it.
Cyber Monday, on the other hand, is an event that is carried out almost entirely online where customers don’t have to walk in store to fight off other deal-seekers.
Nowadays, as shoppers and retailers appreciate the convenience of online shopping, you can find nearly all sales and promotions online as well. If you are lucky you’ll find discounts that are available exclusively for online customers.
