Ready for it! Taylor Swift's single for Fifty Shades Darker eligible for Best Original Song at the Oscars
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have narrowed the field down to 70 songs to be considered for nomination in the best original song category.
Among the contenders are some of pop's biggest names, including Taylor Swift's song I Don't Wanna Live Forever from the less than critically acclaimed S&M sequel Fifty Shades Darker.
Mariah Carey is also in the running for a nomination for her song The Star for the Christian animated film of the same name.

In addition Nick Jonas' Home from the animated Ferdinand is a contender, while Mary J Blige (Mudbound) and a posthumous nod to Chris Cornell (The Promise) are all in the running.
While Sufjan Stevens had two songs being considered from the film Call Me By Your Name.

Last year the field was even larger with 93 songs being considered eligible for a spot in the nominees box.
While an obvious snub is Sia, who wrote To Be Human for Wonder Woman.
The field will ultimately need to be narrowed down to just the top five most voted for songs to make into the official nominees.
The nominations, however, will not be announced until January 23 in the new year for the 90th annual Academy Awards.
