James Christian "Jimmy" Kimmel (born November 13, 1967) is an American television host, producer, writer, comedian, voice actor, musician and radio personality. He is the host and executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a late-night talk show that premiered on ABC in 2003. Kimmel also hosted the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 23, 2012.
Prior to hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he was best known as the co-host of Comedy Central's The Man Show and Win Ben Stein's Money. Kimmel has also produced such shows as Crank Yankers, Sports Show with Norm Macdonald, and The Andy Milonakis Show.
Kimmel was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in the neighborhood of Mill Basin the eldest of three children of Joan (née Iacono), a homemaker, and James John Kimmel, an IBM executive.
He is, and was raised, Catholic, and as a child served as an altar boy. Kimmel's mother is of Italian ancestry; two of his paternal great-great-grandparents were German emigrants, and his family's surname was "Kümmel" several generations back. The family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, when he was nine years old. He graduated from Ed W. Clark High School.
"Want To" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music duo Sugarland. It was released in August 2006 as the first single from the album Enjoy the Ride. It was their first single not to feature former member Kristen Hall, although Jennifer Nettles had previously been featured on Bon Jovi's Number One country hit, "Who Says You Can't Go Home", the song was also the first regular Number One hit of Sugarland's career in the U.S., spending two weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in late 2006. The duo's members, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, wrote the song along with Bobby Pinson. The song has sold 856,000 copies in the US as of April 2013.
The Young Turks (TYT) is an online American liberal/progressive political and social commentary program hosted by Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian; the show has an associated network of online shows and is owned by a company of the same name (The Young Turks LLC). TYT was founded in 2002 by Uygur as a talkshow on Sirius Satellite Radio.
The Young Turks claims to be "the world's largest online news show"; YouTube video views for the TYT Network stood at a total of 2 billion as of July 2014. The show offers internet-only video content via their YouTube channel, which in April 2012 averaged 750,000 views a day, and by November 2014 over 1,400,000 views a day. The Young Turks also have a network of other affiliated shows on separate YouTube channels, known collectively as the TYT Network.
From 2011 to 2013 a second show, called The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur aired on Current TV. After Current TV was acquired by Al Jazeera America, the TV show was discontinued.
The Young Turks as a show began when Cenk Uygur started a talk show similar to a public-access television cable-TV show he had done previously called The Young Turk. With the help of friend Ben Mankiewicz (with whom he had previously worked), his childhood friend Dave Koller, and Jill Pike, he began The Young Turks as a radio show in 2002 on Sirius Satellite Radio. The show's name derives from the English-language phrase "Young Turk", meaning a reformist or rebellious member of an institution, movement, or political party.
Attendees at both political conventions become very passionate when speaking about the other side. We decided to do an examination into this. It wasn't always this way for the Republican Party. Watch the history of the Democratic Party: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6R0NvVr164 Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Today’s Republican Party opposes big government. It’s culturally conservative. Its demographic support is strongest among white voters, and it usually dominates elections in the South. And its 2016 presidential nominee has been heavily criticized for inciting racial tensions. But things weren’t always this way. Over the past 160 or so years, the party has undergone a remarkable transformation from the party of Abraham Lincoln… to the party of Donald Trump. I get asked all the time why I hate Republicans. And given some of the videos I've posted bashing Republicans, I can see where they're coming from. I've either explicitly or implicitly said that they're racist, homophobic, bigoted, out of touch, and a whole bunch of other nasty things. But here's the thing: just because I have beef with the Republican Party doesn't mean I hate conservatives. In fact, I was raised on conservative values and keep many of them near and dear to my heart. So I thought I might post this video to clear the air a little bit. Yes, I hate the Republicans. But my beefs with the Republican Party are pretty well founded, I think. Hopefully you will too after you hear me out. That's increasingly the case with net neutrality: a handful of Republican Representatives have joined their voices to those asking the FCC to delay the vote that would eliminate net neutrality, or for legislation that establishes the principle perm...
In an attempt to force the Republican Party’s hand on the tax bill, Senate Democrats proposed adding a new provision to their corporate giveaway legislation that would have forced companies to spend their tax cuts on workers and wages, something that Republicans say will happen if we give corporations more money. Every single Republican in the Senate voted against that measure, and Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins offers up some explanations as to why that happened. President Trump celebrated the final passage of the Republican tax bill surrounded by House and Senate Republicans at the White House today. The President singled out Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and others for praise for getting this done. “It’s always a lot of fun when you win,” Trump said. “If you work hard and lose, that’s not acceptable.” Both McConnell and Ryan spoke as well, with Ryan praising Trump’s leadership on this issue.
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday morning that he will be holding a White House press conference to celebrate the passage of the GOP’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was approved by the House and Senate this week. Trump spent the day tweeting about the bill, congratulating Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for his work on getting it passed — and bashing the “fake news” media for its coverage of the plan: I would like to congratulate SenateMajLdr on having done a fantastic job both strategically & politically on the passing in the Senate of the MASSIVE TAX CUT & Reform Bill. I could have not asked for a better or more talented partner. Our team will go onto many more VICTORIES! — Donald J. Trump The Tax Cuts are so large and so meaningful, and yet the Fake News is wor...
