Real Madrid and Wales star Gareth Bale 'will marry fiancée Emma Rhys-Jones at haunted Italian castle in May'... and has asked Beyoncé to be their wedding singer

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale 'will marry his childhood sweetheart in a haunted Italian castle in May' - and reportedly wants Beyoncé to sing at their reception.

The Wales international, 28, and bride-to-be Emma Rhys-Jones, 26, are said to have set their hearts on tying the knot at the historic Vincigliata castle in Tuscany, where Theo Walcott - Gareth's former Southampton teammate - wed four years ago.

And a small army of hand-picked bodyguards will be deployed to protect the couple, who already use a team of ex-SAS security guards after Emma's family was caught up in a drugs feud, when they finally exchange vows.

A family source said: 'The castle is perfect for their big day - it’s a fortress so they will feel safe. Once they and all their guests are inside. the place can be shut down to undesirables or prying eyes.'

They added: 'It’s a good ghost story but Gareth and Emma will have their own protection force on their wedding day. They’ve had a rough year so they don’t want anything to go wrong.'

Emma’s dad Martin Rhys-Jones, 53, will give her away at the ceremony after serving a six-year jail sentence in the US for fraud.

The couple have also approached R&B superstar Beyoncé, 36, to be their wedding singer at the castle in the Tuscan Hills.

Gareth and Emma have invited their families to a second “wedding day” which will be held in Wales next summer.

Their relative said: 'They are having a home and away wedding to keep everyone happy. But the one in Italy will be the glamorous affair with Beyoncé and many of his team mates as the star guests.'

Mother-of-two Emma was left in tears when her grandparents’ home in Cardiff was firebombed by a drug gang looking for a missing suitcase packed with almost £1m in used bank notes.

She was hit by further heartbreak last month when her future brother-in-law died from an apparent suicide.

Vincigliata castle is said to be haunted by Bianca, a bride who saw her groom slaughtered on the day they were due to wed.

Local legend has it that Bianca’s ghosts protects people staying at the castle.
