Aashiq Abu

Aashiq Abu (born April 12, 1978) is an Indian film director and producer best known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He started as an ad filmmaker. He made his directional debut with Daddy Cool (2009). He is best known for his films Salt N' Pepper (2011) and 22 Female Kottayam (2012).

Personal life

Aashiq Abu was born in Edappally, Kerala to C. M. Abu, and Jameela Abu. Aashiq Abu completed his school education from SRV High School, Kochi. As a pre-degree student at Maharajas College, he was elected to the Students' Union, and was a union member for four consecutive years. Aashiq married actress Rima Kallingal on November 1, 2013, in a simple function held in Kakkanad Registration office, Kochi.

Film career

After working as an assistant Director to Malayalam film director Kamal for about five years, Aashiq Abu made his directorial debut with Daddy Coolin 2009 starring Mammootty. Salt N' Pepper was Aashiq Abu's second directorial effort. Salt N' Pepper’s Tamil, Telugu and Hindi remake rights was bought by actor-director Prakash Raj. In 2012, he directed 22 Female Kottayam which was followed by Da Thadiya, Gangster. Aashiq Abu has also done a short film, 'Lost in Bangalore' for Mathrubhumi. His latest film is Rani Padmini featuring Manju and Rima.

Rima Kallingal

Rima Kallingal is an Indian model and film actress, predominantly appearing in Malayalam cinema. After being named First Runner-up in the Miss Kerala 2008 contest, she went to pursue a career in acting. She made her film debut in 2009 through the film Ritu later appeared in Neelathaamara (2009) and continues to work in Malayalam films. Her notable roles include in City of God, Indian Rupee, Nidra, 22 Female Kottayam and August Club. She has also appeared in a couple of Tamil films.

Biography

Born in Thrissur, Rima Kallingal began dancing when she was three years old. A dancer by profession, she has performed on national and international stages. She studied in Stanes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Coonoor up to Fifth grade. She completed her schooling from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Thrissur, passing out in 2001. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Christ University, Bangalore. She is also skilled in Taekwondo (Korean martial art), Chao (Manipuri martial art) and Kalari.

Kairali TV is an Indian television channel broadcasting in Malayalam language. The channel, headquartered at Trivandrum, has studio facilities at Trivandrum as well as Kochi. Malayalam Communications Limited is the holding company which is chaired by Malayalam film actor Mammootty. John Brittas is the Managing Director.

Rex Vijayan (Malayalam: റെക്സ് വിജയന്; born 26 April 1983) is a guitarist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Kerala, India. He is the lead guitarist for the alternative Malayali rock band Avial. He started out his career as a composer in the Malayalam film industry through Kerala Cafe by giving the score to Anwar Rasheed's segment 'Bridge'.

Early life

He is the son of Albert Vijayan, a music director in Malayalam films. He self-learnt to play various instruments at a very young age and began his musical career by mastering cover versions. He married Chintoo Rex on March 14, 2008 at Kollam.
