Hello everyone, New video for today, and certainly one of the best so far. This is another compilation, but one that was asked by many of you: the famous Planet Waves outtakes. Not much is circulating from the last album Bob and The Band did, back in 1973 (released in 1974 and followed by their incredible reunion tour). I gathered all the outtakes and demos I could find and assembled them into a comprehensive collection I'm sure you will like. The first bootleg is very mysterious since it doesn't have any information on where it comes from, apart from a great name, "In The Footsteps Of Planet Waves". On it, you'll find the outtakes, plus great renditions of Planet Waves during the 1974 tour and the rehearsals in Clearwater, Florida, during the famous Rolling Thunder Revue in 1976. Also, you have a small collaboration between Bob and Booker T. Jones on his album Chronicles with his wife Priscilla. The song was recorded in Jones Ranch in Malibu in June 1973 and shows you how talented Bob is with his harmonica. The outtakes are of course the most interesting part, with the soul-crushing acoustic version of Going, Going, Gone, the beautiful version of House Of The Risin' Sun, and more. The second part is a compilation made by the blog Thousand Highways that gathers the very best of the studio outtakes of 1973-1975, from Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid to Desire. This should definitely be part of the next bootleg series, focusing on Blood On The Tracks and scheduled for November 2018 (according to multiple sources). You may be familiar with a lot of this material by now, with the multiple videos I made on those years, but you'll never find a better compilation of those golden years, where Bob came back as strong as he'll ever be in all his musical career.
