Rocky IV is a 1985 American sports film written, directed by, and starring Sylvester Stallone. The film co-stars Dolph Lundgren, Burt Young, Talia Shire, Carl Weathers, Tony Burton, Brigitte Nielsen, and Michael Pataki. Rocky IV remained the highest grossing sports movie for 24 years before it was overtaken by The Blind Side. It is the fourth and most financially successful entry in the Rocky film series.
In the film, the Soviet Union and their top boxer make an entrance into professional boxing with their best athlete Ivan Drago, who initially wants to take on World Champion Rocky Balboa. His best friend Apollo Creed decides to fight him instead, but is fatally beaten in the ring. Enraged by this, Rocky decides to fight Drago in the Soviet Union to avenge his friend and defend the honor of his country.
Critical reception was mixed, but the film earned $300 million at the box office. This film marked Carl Weathers' final appearance in the series. The film's success led to a fifth entry released on November 16, 1990.

Burning heart Two worlds collide, rival nations It's a primitive clash, venting years of frustrations Bravely we hope against all hope, there is so much at stake Seems our freedom's up against the ropes Does the crowd understand? Is it a East vs. West, or man against man Can any nation stand alone? In the burning heart, just about to burst There's a quest for answers, an unquenchable thirst In the darkest night, rising like a spire In the burning heart, the unmistakable fire, in the burning heart In the warrior's code, there's no surrender Though his body says stop, his spirit cries never Deep in our soul a quiet ember Knows it's you against you the paradox that drives us on It's a battle of wills, in the heat of attack It's the passion that kills The victory is y...
The Cold War is a pretty interesting point in history. Absolutely everyone was convinced that America and Russia would start bombing each other any moment, and while Russia was busy training it's youth how to maintain and operate heavy armor America prioritized duck and cover techniques. On the plus side, Hollywood never let up on casting Russia as the bad guy in the 80s, and there's just something nostalgic about the big bad Soviet Union coming to fuck up some shit. Also, this is a Rocky movie. Yup.
