PASCO, Wash. - A police officer involved in a deadly shooting in Washington state was a defendant in a federal civil-rights lawsuit the city of Pasco settled in 2013 for $100,000.
The Seattle Times reports the lawsuit claimed Pasco officers were inadequately trained in the use of force and how to respond to street confrontations, according to court records.
Residents of the town where police shot and killed a man accused of hurling rocks at officers are calling for calm ahead of an anti-police brutality protest scheduled for noon Saturday.
The death Tuesday of orchard worker Antonio Zambrano-Montes is the fourth fatal police shooting since last summer in Pasco, an agricultural city of 68,000 people about 215 miles southeast of Seattle.

Video captures a Pasco County deputy using a Taser Wednesday night to stop a drug suspect fleeing a traffic stop. Crews for the Spike TV show "Cops" were filming a segment as a deputy's body camera documented the arrest, which occurred around 11:50 p.m. Cameron Ajax Jones, 34, of Hudson, is charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, and possession of methamphetamine. The deputy had pulled over a Toyota Prius after it ran a stop sign and saw that there were hypodermic needles in the car, according to the sheriff's office.
Jones consented to a pat down during which a baggie containing a white rock was found. Jones then ran and threw the baggie into the woods as the deputy tried to detain him. The deputy yelled warning Jones he was going to use a Taser before firing the barb at Jones. According to the sheriff's office, the rock in the baggie tested positive for meth, and they also found .9 grams of heroin, nine packets of heroin, and a syringe that contained heroin.

Cerro de Pasco
Cerro de Pasco (population 70,000) is a city in central Peru, located at the top of the Andean mountains. It is the capital of the Pasco region, and an important mining center. At 4,330 metres (14,210 ft) elevation, it is one of the highest cities in the world, and the highest or the second highest city with over 50,000 inhabitants, with elevation reaching up to 4,380 m in the Yanacancha area. It is connected by road and by rail to the capital Lima, as far as 300 km.

It became one of the world's richest silver producing areas after silver was discovered there in the early 17th century. It is still an active mining center.
Gray Brechin notes that the mines of Cerro de Pasco were a chief source of wealth for William Randolph Hearst and his family.

Climate
At 4,330 metres (14,210 ft) above sea level, Cerro de Pasco has an (E) Alpine Climate (the average temperature of the warmest month is lower than 10 °C (50 °F)). The city has humid summers, dry winters and chilly to cold temperatures throughout the year. Snowfalls can occur sometimes.

1978 Atlantic hurricane season
The 1978 Atlantic hurricane season was the last Atlantic hurricane season to use an all-female naming list. The hurricane season officially began on June 1, and ended on November 30. It was an above average season due to a subsiding El Niño. The first storm, a subtropical storm, developed unusually early – on January 18 – and dissipated five days later without causing any damage. At the end of July and early August, short-lived Tropical Storm Amelia caused extensive flooding in Texas after dropping as much as 48 in (1,200 mm) of rain. There were 33 deaths and $110 million (1978 USD) in damage. Tropical Storm Bess and Hurricane Cora resulted in only minor land impacts, while the latter was attributed to one fatality.
Later in August, Tropical Storm Debra produced widespread effects, though damage was also relatively minor. Hurricane Ella became the northernmost Category 4 hurricane while located at 38°N, and lashed the East Coast of the United States and Atlantic Canada with gusty winds and rip currents. Hurricanes Flossie and Kendra as well as Tropical Storms Hope, Irma, and Juliet caused minimal land impacts as a tropical cyclone. However, the precursor to Hurricane Kendra caused flooding in Puerto Rico. Hurricane Greta brought strong winds, high tides, and flooding to Central America, particularly Belize and Honduras. Greta resulted in about $25 million in damage and at least five fatalities. Overall, the storms of this season collectively caused $191 million in damage and 42 fatalities. Hurricane Greta crossed into the eastern pacific and was renamed Olivia.

Pasco County, Florida
Pasco County is a county located in the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2010 census, the population was 464,697. Its county seat is Dade City, and its largest city is New Port Richey. The county is named for Samuel Pasco.
Pasco County is included in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL. Tampa Bay Area.
It includes numerous parks and trails including along rivers, the Gulf of Mexico, lakes, and highway/ railroad right of ways. Several nudist resorts are located in Pasco. West Pasco includes retirement areas, commercial fishing, and suburbs of Tampa. East Pasco is transitioning from forested and agricultural areas to suburban developments. The Suncoast Highway and U.S. 19 both pass through Pasco.
History
Pasco County was created on June 2, 1887, from the southern third of Hernando County. The same legislation also created Citrus County from the northern third of Hernando County. The county was named for Samuel Pasco, who had just been elected to the United States Senate. Dade City was named the temporary county seat until a popular vote was held in 1889, at which time voters made Dade City the permanent county seat. As early as 1917, residents of the western part of the county proposed forming a separate county or merging with Pinellas County, as Dade City was not centrally located in the county. The issue was finally resolved in the late 1970s with the construction of identical government centers in both Dade City and New Port Richey.

El accidente se registró a la altura del kilómetro 134 de la carretera central, en el tramo que une La Oroya con Huánuco, el bus interprovincial de la empresa Rey Tours, impactó frontalmente contra un camión de carga la empresa Estrella Polar. Producto del fuerte impacto el ómnibus quedo volteado a un lado de la vía. Doce personas muertas y 35 heridos fue el saldo de este fatal accidente de tránsito. Según los primeros reporte una intensa lluvia caía sobre la zona en el momento del choque y según la policía, una mala maniobra de uno de los choferes habría provocado la tragedia, sin embargo, también se baraja a posibilidad de que uno de ellos se habría quedado dormido e invadió carril contrario luego de pasar por una curva. Al lugar llegaron los bomberos y la policía que rescataron a los heridos que fueron llevados al hospital más cercano en Pasco y luego de 10 horas de intenso trabajo retiraron los cadáveres atrapados entre la carrocería de ambos vehículos. According to the sheriff's office, the rock in the baggie tested positive for meth, and they also found .9 grams of heroin, nine packets of heroin, and a syringe that contained heroin.

Video captures a Pasco County deputy using a Taser Wednesday night to stop a drug suspect fleeing a traffic stop. Crews for the Spike TV show "Cops" were filming a segment as a deputy's body camera documented the arrest, which occurred around 11:50 p.m. Cameron Ajax Jones, 34, of Hudson, is charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, and possession of methamphetamine. The deputy had pulled over a Toyota Prius after it ran a stop sign and saw that there were hypodermic needles in the car, according to the sheriff's office.
Jones consented to a pat down during which a baggie containing a white rock was found. Jones then ran and threw the baggie into the woods as the deputy tried to detain him. The deputy yelled warning Jones he was going to use a Taser before firing the barb at Jones. According to the sheriff's office, the rock in the baggie tested positive for meth, and they also found .9 grams of heroin, nine packets of heroin, and a syringe that contained heroin.

El accidente se registró a la altura del kilómetro 134 de la carretera central, en el tramo que une La Oroya con Huánuco, el bus interprovincial de la empresa Rey Tours, impactó frontalmente contra un camión de carga la empresa Estrella Polar. Producto del fuerte impacto el ómnibus quedo volteado a un lado de la vía. Doce personas muertas y 35 heridos fue el saldo de este fatal accidente de tránsito.
Según los primeros reporte una intensa lluvia caía sobre la zona en el momento del choque y según la policía, una mala maniobra de uno de los choferes habría provocado la tragedia, sin embargo, también se baraja a posibilidad de que uno de ellos se habría quedado dormido e invadió carril contrario luego de pasar por una curva.
Al lugar llegaron los bomberos y la policía que rescataron a los heridos que fueron llevados al hospital más cercano en Pasco y luego de 10 horas de intenso trabajo retiraron los cadáveres atrapados entre la carrocería de ambos vehículos.
Las investigaciones continúan para determinar responsabilidades y las causas reales que provocaron este accidente.

Video captures a Pasco County deputy using a Taser Wednesday night to stop a drug suspect fleeing a traffic stop. Crews for the Spike TV show "Cops" were filming a segment as a deputy's body camera documented the arrest, which occurred around 11:50 p.m. Cameron Ajax Jones, 34, of Hudson, is charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, and possession of methamphetamine. The deputy had pulled over a Toyota Prius after it ran a stop sign and saw that there were hypodermic needles in the car, according to the sheriff's office.
Jones consented to a pat down during which a baggie containing a white rock was found. Jones then ran and threw the baggie into the woods as the deputy tried to detain him. The deputy yelled warning Jones he was going to use a Taser before firing the barb at Jones. According to the sheriff's office, the rock in the baggie tested positive for meth, and they also found .9 grams of heroin, nine packets of heroin, and a syringe that contained heroin.

El accidente se registró a la altura del kilómetro 134 de la carretera central, en el tramo que une La Oroya con Huánuco, el bus interprovincial de la empresa Rey Tours, impactó frontalmente contra un camión de carga la empresa Estrella Polar. Producto del fuerte impacto el ómnibus quedo volteado a un lado de la vía. Doce personas muertas y 35 heridos fue el saldo de este fatal accidente de tránsito.
Según los primeros reporte una intensa lluvia caía sobre la zona en el momento del choque y según la policía, una mala maniobra de uno de los choferes habría provocado la tragedia, sin embargo, también se baraja a posibilidad de que uno de ellos se habría quedado dormido e invadió carril contrario luego de pasar por una curva.
Al lugar llegaron los bomberos y la policía que rescataron a los heridos que fueron llevados al hospital más cercano en Pasco y luego de 10 horas de intenso trabajo retiraron los cadáveres atrapados entre la carrocería de ambos vehículos.
Las investigaciones continúan para determinar responsabilidades y las causas reales que provocaron este accidente.

Upon contact with driver, 34 year-old Cameron Ajax Jones of Hudson, hyperdermic needles were observed in plain view. According to the deputy, he was extremely nervous and was asked to step out of the vehicle. He consented to a pat down and in his left pocket of his shorts, the deputy felt a plastic baggie. He claimed that he did not know what it was. Jones remove it from his pocket and placed it on the trunk of his car. Inside of the plastic bag, the deputy observed a clear rock like substance inside of another bag. As the deputy attempted to detain Mr. Jones, he pulled away and grabbed the bag and took off running on foot. Segundo tiempo del encuentro jugado el domingo 25 de Junio del 2000 en el estadio Daniel Alcides Carrión de Cerro de Pasco (4338 msnm). Aquí luego de un partido inolvidable la "U" se coronó (a falta de dos fechas) Campeón del Torneo Apertura 2000 venciendo [2-1] al Unión Minas. Los cerreños habían adelantado a los 50' por intermedio de W. Cavero, luego la "U" le dio vuelta con dos goles de Luis Alberto "Beto" Carranza. El primero de ellos fue a los 86' a través de un penal tras falta a Mario Gómez, el segundo el inolvidable, el definitivo, el del campeonato, el que nos hizo parar de nuestros asientos fue a los 91', el "Beto" lo anotó en una espectacular corrida desde el campo crema avanzando con la pelota dominada sin que nada ni nadie pudiera detenerlo llegando al área rival y marcando el gol del triunfo con un tiro rasante junto al palo derecho del portero Mosquera aún con aire tras anotar el "Beto" Carranza siguió corriendo para festejar con la Trinchera y desatar la alegría en todo el pueblo crema ¡INOLVIDABLE!. Un momento imperecedero y una muestra más de lo que significa la Garra Crema.

Upon contact with driver, 34 year-old Cameron Ajax Jones of Hudson, hyperdermic needles were observed in plain view.
According to the deputy, he was extremely nervous and was asked to step out of the vehicle. He consented to a pat down and in his left pocket of his shorts, the deputy felt a plastic baggie. He claimed that he did not know what it was.
Jones remove it from his pocket and placed it on the trunk of his car. Inside of the plastic bag, the deputy observed a clear rock like substance inside of another bag. As the deputy attempted to detain
Mr. Jones, he pulled away and grabbed the bag and took off running on foot.
Jones then threw the bag into the woods and after several verbal commands to stop were ignored, he was tasered in the back by Cpl. Brett Morris and detained.
Inside of the plastic bag were .8 grams of field tested postive meth, .9 grams of powdered heroin, and 9 individually wrapped foil packets of heroin packaged for sale (less than .1 gram each).
Inside of the car was a loaded syringe which field tested positive for heroin, the weight of the liquid was .5 grams. An additional 15 syringes were located inside the vehicle.
Jones invoked his rights and did not wish to talk. Based on the investigation, he was arrested for possession of herion, possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, resisting officer without violence, and tampering with physical evidence. He was booked into the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center on $20,300.
In 2003, Jones was arrested during “Operation Bahama Breeze” where a number of defendants brought 55 pounds of cocaine a month from South Florida to Pasco/ Pinellas for distribution.

Santa Ana de Tusi, es conocida también como "La Tierra de los Caminantes", ya que desde hace muchos años, sus pobladores se dedicaban al comercio, caminando de un lugar a otro, llevando mercancía el cual cambiaban con ganado, productos de pan llevar y dinero. El aniversario del Distrito se celebra el 12 de enero de cada año y la fiesta patronal en honor a la Madre Santa Ana (su patrona), es el 26 julio de cada año, la misma que empieza desde el 16 de julio con la elaboración de la chicha de jora hasta el 30, 31 de julio.
