Adema is a rock band from Bakersfield, California. The band formed in 2000 with members lead vocalist Mark Chavez, vocalist/guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. After their first two albums, Adema, and Unstable, the band was plagued with years of conflict and lineup changes. Ransom left the band in 2003 due to conflicts with Chavez followed by Chavez later in 2004 due to conflicts with the rest of the band. Luke Caraccioli replaced Chavez in early 2005 for one album, Planets, but then left a few months later in late 2005. Vocalist Bobby Reeves and guitarist Ed Farris, both from the band Level, were recruited to join as well, but only released one album, Kill the Headlights in 2007, before entering a hiatus. The band's original line up reformed in late 2009 and toured, but both Ransom and Chavez left again before any new music would be recorded. Since 2011, Fluckey took over lead vocals. The lineup released an EP, Topple the Giants, in 2013, which also featured new guitarist Marc DeLeon. However, DeLeon left the band soon after with Ransom returning once again, solidifying the current line-up. This current line-up contains all the band's original members, excluding Chavez.
The Way may refer to:
"The Way You Like It" is the second single from Adema's self-titled debut album, Adema.
The song is about how fame changes people, how it can control people, and how it changes people into something they are not. Mark Chavez uses his regular lyrical style to put his message across. However, this song is known for being slightly faster and bouncier than other Adema singles.
The music video, directed by Gregory Dark, depicts Adema playing to a large crowd of people in what appears to be an underground style moshpit. As the band plays, the video cuts away to Adema driving around town, with various scenarios along the way. As the band drives through town:
"Giving In" is the first single to be released from the band Adema's self-titled debut album. The song appeared on Now 9, as well as on a commercial for AT&T Mobility.
The music video for "Giving In" (directed by Paul Fedor) features the band playing on what appears to be an outdoor rooftop under a dark sky, moving as if on a conveyor belt, while lead singer Mark Chavez moves through different rooms. The rooms and scenarios that are shown while the band are playing include a hotel room with a couple, a little girl sitting on a rocking chair watching a violent movie, and a woman in a glass tank. As the video progresses, certain changes take place. People who are apparently either invisible or are meant to be there stand around the bed watching the couple have sex. A car crash takes place behind the little girl, and a man starts kissing the woman in the tank that has now been filled up with water.

I'm always gonna be one life behind
That's why I'm all alone
What's it gonna take to make you see
That we are fallin' apart?
I wonder, can we throw away the past
So we can stop the screaming match
I'm not gonna break down anymore
I've found my way to the door
I can see through both of us
It's an issue over trust
It's killing me, it's killing me
To watch you leave me
(Leave me, leave me)
I've tried to talk about what's really wrong
I see that look of discontent
The volume starts to rise and then it's on
That's why I have to go
Dealin' with the pain is all that's left
Because we cannot get along
You wanna put the blame on me again
I think that we have reached the end
I can see through both of us
It's an issue over trust
It's killing me, it's killing me
To watch you leave
I can see through both of us
It's an issue over trust
You keep blaming me, blaming me
For what you do to me
It's your turn to watch me leave you
It's your turn to watch me leave you
It's your turn to watch me leave you, haa aaa
I can see through both of us
It's an issue over trust
It's killing me, it's killing me
To watch you leave
I can see through both of us
It's an issue over trust
You keep blaming me, blaming me
