The Relationship
The Relationship is an American rock band formed in 2006 by Weezer guitarist Brian Bell and Nate Shaw of Die Hunns. The band includes bassist Jon LaRue and drummer Anthony Burulicich.
In November 2010, the band released their debut album, The Relationship, on Golden State Records.
First Album
Recording of The Relationship's first album is taking place at Bell's private home studio in the city of Los Angeles on an analog 8 track. Sean Lennon mentioned in a recent interview that he will appear with Bell on The Relationship's debut record. Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo and Bell co-wrote a song together for the project titled "Hand to Hold," however, Bell has stated he that does not think it will be on their debut album.
Bell has posted twenty songs to date on the band's Myspace page: "You Rock My Heart," "Please Help Me," "Something More," "Together Tomorrow," "Thought I Knew," "Happiness," "Amy Magazine," "3rd Gnossiennes," "In Love with Love," "Are You Gonna Be?," "Hand to Hold," "Will I Ever See Her Again?," "Mother Night," "Ugly Things," "Mow the Lawn," "Young Temptations," "Mistake Maker," "Sweet on You," "Oh Allen," and "Clown Song."

Bell
A bell is a simple idiophone percussion instrument. Although bells come in many forms, most are made of metal cast in the shape of a hollow cup, whose sides form a resonator which vibrates in a single tone upon being struck. The strike may be made by a "clapper" or "uvula" suspended within the bell, by a separate mallet or hammer, or—in small bells—by a small loose sphere enclosed within the body of the bell.
Bells are usually made by casting metal, but small bells can also be made from ceramic or glass. Bells range in size from tiny dress accessories to church bells 5 metres tall, weighing many tons. Historically, bells were associated with religious rituals, and before mass communication were widely used to call communities together for both religious and secular events. Later, bells were made to commemorate important events or people and have been associated with the concepts of peace and freedom. The study of bells is called campanology.
A set of bells, hung in a circle for change ringing, is known as a ring or peal of bells.

Brian
Brian (sometimes spelled Bryan) is a male given name of Irish and Breton origin, as well as a surname of Occitan origin. It is common in the English-speaking world. It is possible that the name is derived from an Old Celtic word meaning "high" or "noble". For example, the element bre means "hill"; which could be transferred to mean "eminence" or "exalted one". The name is quite popular in Ireland, on account of Brian Boru, a 10th-century king of Ireland. The name was also quite popular in East Anglia during the Middle Ages. This is because the name was introduced to England by Bretons following the Norman Conquest. Bretons also settled in Ireland along with the Normans in the 12th century, and 'their' name was mingled with the 'Irish' version. Also, in the north-west of England, the 'Irish' name was introduced by Scandinavian settlers from Ireland. Within the Gaelic speaking areas of Scotland, the name was at first only used by professional families of Irish origin. It was the fourth most popular male name in England and Wales in 1934, but a sharp decline followed over the remainder of the 20th century and by 1994 it had fallen out of the top 100. It retained its popularity in the United States for longer; its most popular period there was from 1968–1979 when it consistently ranked between eighth and tenth.

The Films of Brian Bell (P.H.S.) 2016
A three part film created by the Preston Historical Society from material provided by Mr. Brian Bell of Preston. The film was first shown a meeting of the Preston Historical Society in November 2016. The first part "Between the Wars" dates from c.1930 and captures rare moving images in and around the town of Preston. The second part shows moving images from the 1952 Preston Guild. The final part shows the erstwhile site of Preston Dock c.1985 after port operations has ceased in 1981. A short bonus slide collection at the very end shows still images of the dock during the ports operation.

Abstract: During the course of this workshop, we will cover a broad set of data science how-to’s using Python and several popular industry-standard open source libraries, including pandas and scikit-learn. Starting from a real world dataset, we will do some data cleansing, exploratory data analysis, and finally build a predictive model using a robust cross-validation framework.The material presented is intended for those new to data science, and only assumes basic familiarity with Python.
Bio: Brian Bell is an engineer at DataRobot. He is also on the teaching staff for “Tackling the Challenges of Big Data,” a course offered by MIT Professional Education. Previously he was a researcher in Machine Learning with MIT’s Evolutionary Design and Optimization Group and worked as a data analyst in finance and medicine. He studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at MIT.

In the late 1960s, Bell Laboratories computer scientists Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson started work on a project that was inspired by an operating system called Multics, a joint project of MIT, GE, and Bell Labs. The host and narrator of this film, Victor Vyssotsky, also had worked on the Multics project. Ritchie and Thompson, recognizing some of the problems with the Multics OS, set out to create a more useful, flexible, and portable system for programmers to work with.
What's fascinating about the growth of UNIX is the long amount of time that it was given to develop, almost organically, and based on the needs of the users and programmers. The first installation of the program was done as late as 1972 (on a NY Telephone branch computer). It was in conjunction with the refinement of the C programming language, principally designed by Dennis Ritchie.
Because the Bell System had limitations placed by the government that prevented them from selling software, UNIX was made available under license to universities and the government. This helped further its development, as well as making it a more "open" system.
This film "The UNIX System: Making Computers More Productive", is one of two that Bell Labs made in 1982 about UNIX's significance, impact and usability. Even 10 years after its first installation, it's still an introduction to the system. The other film, "The UNIX System: Making Computers Easier to Use", is roughly the same, only a little shorter. The former film was geared towards software developers and computer science students, the latter towards programmers specifically.
The film contains interviews with primary developers Ritchie, Thompson, Brian Kernighan, and many others.
While widespread use of UNIX has waned, most modern operating systems have at least a conceptual foundation in UNIX.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra music director Robert Spano, whose ties to the BSO go back two decades, returns to lead a work given its United States premiere by the BSO under his direction in 2001-Osvaldo Golijov's La Pasión según San Marcos ("The Passion According to St. Mark"). The Jewish, Latin American-raised Golijov was one of four composers from different religious and musical traditions asked to compose a Passion setting to mark the 250th anniversary of Bach's death and the end of the second millennium. Golijov's vibrant, immediate, pan-Latin American approach draws on multiple musical and Christian traditions in presenting this universal narrative. The BSO is joined by a cast of stylistically diverse performers central to the original creation of this remarkable piece.
