James Taylor

James Vernon Taylor (born March 12, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Taylor was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

Taylor achieved his breakthrough in 1970 with the No. 3 single "Fire and Rain" and had his first No. 1 hit the following year with "You've Got a Friend", a recording of Carole King's classic song. His 1976 Greatest Hits album was certified Diamond and has sold 12 million US copies. Following his 1977 album, JT, he has retained a large audience over the decades. Every album he released from 1977 to 2006 sold over a million copies. His chart performance had a resurgence during the late 1990s and 2000s, when he recorded some of his most-awarded work (including Hourglass, October Road and Covers). He achieved his first number one album in the US in 2015 with his recording Before This World.

Carly Simon

Carly Elisabeth Simon (born June 25, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter, musician and children's author. She first rose to fame in the 1970s with a string of hit records; her 13 Top 40 U.S. hits include "Anticipation" (No. 13), "You Belong To Me" (No. 6), "Coming Around Again" (No. 18), and her four Gold certified singles "Jesse" (No. 11), "Mockingbird" (No. 5), a duet with James Taylor, "You're So Vain" (No. 1), and "Nobody Does It Better" (No. 2) from the 1977 James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me.

After a brief stint with her sister Lucy Simon as duo group the Simon Sisters, she found great success as a solo artist with her 1971 self-titled debut album Carly Simon, which won her the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, and spawned her first Top 10 single "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be". Simon achieved international fame with her third album No Secrets which sat firmly at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 5 weeks, and spawned the worldwide hit "You're So Vain", for which she received three Grammy nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Over the course of her career, Simon has amassed 24 Billboard Hot 100 charting singles, 28 Billboard Adult Contemporary charting singles, and has won two Grammy Awards. AllMusic called Simon, "One of the quintessential singer/songwriters of the '70s". Simon has a contralto vocal range.

Plot: Ben Taylor, a young man from a well-to-do background, arrives at Dr. Jack Kaiser's private practice early one morning. Early for his appointment, he is accosted by one of the creeps sitting with him in the waiting room. Steve Birmingham, a product of the society he is trying to leave, attempts to sell Ben a stock while sneering at the sick and elderly patients around them. When his name is called, Ben escapes the uncomfortable conversation and hastily makes his way into the inner corridors of the clinic and awaits the good doctor. Dr. Kaiser enters the examination room and is startled to see such a young patient in his midst. Since the law was passed legalizing assisted suicide, the doctor has grown accustomed to helping patience much older than the one he sees before him and tries to persuade the kid from following through with his decision to kill himself. Nevertheless, as the law states, Dr. Kaiser is unable to do anything but fulfill his patients' wishes, and so after a frustrating debate which starts to explain a little why Ben has ended up at the clinic, Dr. Kaiser finds himself staring down as a boy who is young enough to be his son, presses the red button and administers the toxins which will slowly do him in. As the light dims on Ben's world, we are taken out into the waiting room where Nurse Annette calls for the next patient on the list.
