St Andrews (Latin: S. Andrea(s);Scots: Saunt Aundraes;Scottish Gaelic: Cill Rìmhinn) is a former royal burgh on the east coast of Fife in Scotland, 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Dundee and 30 miles (50 km) northeast of Edinburgh. The town is home to the University of St Andrews, the third oldest university in the English-speaking world and the oldest in Scotland. The University is an integral part of the burgh, and during term time students make up approximately one third of the town's population. St Andrews has a population of 16,680, making it the fifth largest settlement in Fife.
The town is named after Saint Andrew the Apostle. There has been an important church in St Andrews since at least the 8th century, and a bishopric since at least the 11th century. The settlement grew to the west of St Andrews cathedral with the southern side of the Scores to the north and the Kinness burn to the south. The burgh soon became the ecclesiastical capital of Scotland, a position which was held until the Scottish Reformation. The famous cathedral, the largest in Scotland, now lies in ruins.

The University of St Andrews (informally known as St Andrews University or simply St Andrews; abbreviated as St And, from the Latin Sancti Andreae, in post-nominals) is a public research university in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. It is the oldest of the four ancient universities of Scotland and the third oldest university in the English-speaking world (following Oxford and Cambridge). St Andrews was founded between 1410 and 1413, when the Avignon Antipope Benedict XIII issued a papal bull to a small founding group of Augustinian clergy.
St Andrews is made up from a variety of institutions, including three constituent colleges (United College, St Mary's College, and St Leonard's College) and 18 academic schools organised into four faculties. The university occupies historic and modern buildings located throughout the town. The academic year is divided into two terms, Martinmas and Candlemas. In term time, over one-third of the town's population is either a staff member or student of the university. The student body is notably diverse: over 120 nationalities are represented with over 45% of its intake from countries outside the UK; about one-eighth of the students are from the rest of the EU and the remaining third are from overseas — 15% from North America alone. The university's sport teams compete in BUCS competitions, and the student body is known for preserving ancient traditions such as Raisin Weekend, May Dip, and the wearing of distinctive academic dress.
The Other is a 1972 psychological thriller film directed by Robert Mulligan, adapted for film by Tom Tryon from his novel of the same name. It stars Uta Hagen, Diana Muldaur, and Chris and Martin Udvarnoky.
It's a seemingly idyllic summer in 1935, and identical twins Niles and Holland Perry play around the bucolic family farm. Holland is an amoral mischief maker, though sympathetic Niles is often caught in their shenanigans. Niles carries a Prince Albert tobacco tin with him containing several secret trinkets, including something mysteriously wrapped in blue wax paper, and the Perry family ring, which had been handed down from their grandfather, through their father, to Holland, the older twin. Niles asks Holland to confirm that the ring is now indeed his. "Cripes yes, I gave it to you," is the response. Niles asks Holland to take the ring and the wrapped object back, but Holland insists "I gave them to you, they're yours now." Their obnoxious cousin Russell, whom the boys call "Piggy Lookadoo" behind his back, finds them in the apple cellar below the barn—a place they are not supposed to play—and happens to see the contents of the tobacco tin, including the ring. Russell cryptically states that the ring was supposed to be buried, and promises to "tell on" Niles to his father, Niles' Uncle George. Uncle George padlocks the door to the apple cellar to keep the kids from playing there, but there is another stairway inside the barn, giving them access to the cellar.
The Other Guys is a 2010 action comedy film directed and co-written by Adam McKay, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, and featuring Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, Ray Stevenson, Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson.
This film is the fourth of five collaborations between Ferrell and McKay, following Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), and Step Brothers (2008), and followed by Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013). The Other Guys is the only one not to be co-written by Ferrell. It is also the first of two collaborations between Ferrell and Wahlberg, who later reunited in Daddy's Home (2015).
The film was released on August 6, 2010. It received positive critical reviews and was a moderate box office success, grossing over $170 million.
Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) is a mild-mannered forensic accountant. Hot-tempered detective Terry 'Yankee Clipper' Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) is partnered with Allen ever since he mistakenly shot Derek Jeter during the World Series. Allen and Terry receive no respect from the other officers, particularly detectives Martin and Fosse. All but Terry idolize cocky detectives Chris Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and P.K. Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson), who are considered the city's best policemen even though they frequently cause millions of dollars in property damage catching petty criminals. During a pursuit, Danson and Highsmith leap to their deaths after misjudging their ability to survive a fall, which causes the precinct to wonder why they did it and who will take their place.

Kuba and I headed to St Andrews for the day to take advantage of the sunshine. It's rare to get a sunny day here in Scotland during the winter so we wanted to walk around the beach bit and try out Taste Cafe for some lunch. A stroll through the scenic back streets of St Andrews, one of the prettiest towns Scotland has to offer. Take a look at the old stone buildings, a glimpse of the castle ruins and have a giggle at one of the street names... FYI - I mention the 'Kingdom of Fife' in this clip. I have since found out that Fife was once a Pict Kingdom called Fib (the Pictish were the largest tribe of people in what is now Scotland during the Dark Ages). Fife is still referred to as a Kingdom in honour of this.

The New Course, St Andrews, Scotland - Designed by Old Tom Morris in 1895, The New Course at St Andrews is a classic test of links golf. Adjacent to the same sacred ground as the Old Course at St Andrews, The New Course plays clockwise which many find to be the more natural routing. This means all the trouble is on the left, and since there is only one double green, it makes for a more traditional links design. The New Course boasts undulating fairways carved through blankets of gorse bushes, along with challenging-but-normal-sized greens, which naturally are defended by normally obnoxious bunkers. This great links is simply one of Scotland’s most hidden of hidden gems, even as it sparkles in such plain sight – The New Course, St Andrews. BLOG http://www.perrygolf.com/blog/the-new-cour...

The Castle Course, St Andrews, Scotland - The newest addition to St Andrews Links, The Castle Course opened in 2008, making it the seventh course at the Home of Golf. Scotsman architect David McLay Kidd, creator of Bandon Dunes, transformed featureless farmland with more than a mile of clifftop waterfront into a "modern links" comparable to Kingsbarns and Castle Stuart. The setting is striking with wonderful views of St Andrews, plus a collection of seaside holes played along, around and over the cliffs. The holes on each nine play up from the clubhouse to higher ground before gliding back down toward the North Sea. The feature hole is No. 17, a three par played across a ravine requiring a “do or die swing” where anything short or right is gone. A caddie is well worth your employ at the...

(Spoken) Speak the truth and speak 'ever
Cost it what it will
For he who hide the wrong he did
Did the wrong thing still
Come back sweet St. Anne, come love me again
Cause I'm broke again, broke, broke
Yeh I'm broke again, broke, broke
And down on St. Andrew
I'll buy it back from you
But you ain't no lover, lover, lover
No, no your just a pusher, pusher, pushing, pushing
I've been down to St. Andrew
To pay for my sins on you
Love come save me
Love come save me soon
Now I've sung midnight choirs
With beatsets, drunks and liars but there's never fighting, fighting, fighting
No never got higher, higher, higher
So long since I walked a road
Amongst these midnight souls
They were only stealing, stealing, stealing
Yeah we're stealing for feeling, feeling, feeling
I've been down to St. Andrew
To pay for my sins on you
Love come save me, love come save me soon
Yeah love come save me soon
Love come save me soon
Yeah love come save me
Love come save me soon
One day my time will end
And who I've been I've been
And bells they are ringing, ringing, ringing
Yeah the band it is marching, marching, marching, marching
I've been down to St. Andrew
To pay for my sins on you
Love come save me
Love come save me soon
Yeah love come save me soon
Yeah love come save me soon
Yeah love come save me
