Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Monday today, has placed two state of art coaches on the tracks near the Sadar Bazar metro station of the upcoming Magenta Line. It was done to expedite trial runs on a 13-km-long section between the Janakpuri West, one of its ends, and IGI Airport (domestic terminal) stations. The other end of the line is at Botanical Garden in Noida. Phase III will see the implementation of the Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) technology for the first time. Executive Director Corporate Communication Anuj Dayal informed that presently these trains are being run with driver but later can be run without drivers.
The remaining four coaches of the train will be positioned on the tracks in the next few days after which the process of starting trials will begin which may continue for few months.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Monday today, has placed two state of art coaches on the tracks near the Sadar Bazar metro station of the upcoming Magenta Line. It was done to expedite trial runs on a 13-km-long section between the Janakpuri West, one of its ends, and IGI Airport (domestic terminal) stations. The other end of the line is at Botanical Garden in Noida. Phase III will see the implementation of the Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) technology for the first time. Executive Director Corporate Communication Anuj Dayal informed that presently these trains are being run with driver but later can be run without drivers.
The remaining four coaches of the train will be positioned on the tracks in the next few days after which the process of starting trials will begin which may continue for few months.

With 179 stations, nine lines and over 2.3 billion users each year, the Tokyo Metro is the heart of Tokyo’s public transport system. This film goes behind the scenes to explore the mind-set, skill and technology behind its astonishing reliability and punctuality. The Tokyo Metro is so punctual that people set their watches by the arrival of the trains; if a train is more than a minute late, the driver has to make a personal apology. This film explores the reasons behind the Metro’s reputation for running on time, to reveal a long-established culture focused on avoiding failure through contingency planning for any event – from terrorism to earthquakes - and the introduction of new technology to improve safety and systematic preventative maintenance. Cops to monitor CCTV footages of Metro stations

In order to increase the security of Metro stations, Mahametro and city police have decided to make close circuit television (CCTV) camera footages of the stations available to cops on real time basis. A link will be established between operational control centre (OCC) of Nagpur Metro and police control room so that cops are able to monitor the CCTV camera footages at the click of a mouse....
