This was about a 2 kilometers away from COP AJK.
One of the many videos that we captured while over there. This isn't an all out crazy firefight, it was an usual day over there. This isn't the POG life, these are real infantrymen doing what they do best! DUTY FIRST!

The cameraman had this to say to after submitting the footage to FUNKER530:
This patrol was a relief in place and I was on point leading the new guys in for the RIP. We hadn't taken much contact in this area, and it was generally considered a "safe" zone in Logar Province.
We patrolled the area frequently, and the locals would regularly thank us for pushing the Taliban away from their village so they could live their daily lives without constant threat.
The Taliban that we came across during this patrol were actually setting up to shoot down our new surveillance balloon that was launched in the area. The balloon caught the entire fight on camera from above, which confirmed that we killed 3 Taliban fighters during this engagement.
I saw the first guy shoulder his RPG, take a knee, and point it directly at me from about 15 meters away. I'm not sure if it was luck, but I shot first and hit him twice. The rest of the team engaged immediately after.
At the end of the day there were no friendly casualties, and we had eliminated 3 Taliban fighters.
I wanted to share the video with the world because I was sick of hearing all the ignorant things said about what we are doing over there. People need to understand what it's like on the ground for the troops on the front line, and see what we have to deal with on a daily basis without some political spin on the story.
This footage has been edited to exclude the close up graphic footage of the enemy KIA.

" I got a hit a total of 4 times. My helmet cam died and i made it down the mountain on my own. I was also hit in the side of my helmet and my eye pro was shot off of my face. We were doing overwatch on the village to recon and gather intel. I was point heading down the face of the hill with the LT. when we got hit. the rest of the squad was pinned down by machine gun fire. I didn't start the video until a few mins into the firefight for obvious reasons. I came out into the open to draw fire so my squad could get to safety."
"A round struck the tube by my hand of the 203 grenade launcher which knocked it out of my hands. When I picked the rifle back up it was still functional but the grenade launcher tube had a nice sized 7.62 cal bullet hole in it and was rendered useless. "

War in Afghanistan, or sometimes termed Afghan War, is the bane of many would-be conquerors and would-be peacemakers. The British had a conceit of "the Great Game", which involved pitting various countries against one another, especially in the Afghanistan area. The United Kingdom, the Soviet Union and the United States all struggled there.
Warfare in Afghanistan has always been difficult to conclude besides by complete withdrawal. The nation's mountainous terrain and generally sparse population allows for guerilla warfare. Paktika Province, Afghanistan - After spotting Taliban forces on a distant ridge line, U.S. Army mortar teams engage with 60mm mortars. A simultaneous airstrike is called in which accidentally drops a 500 pound bomb on a U.S. Army infantry outpost, mistaking the position for Taliban fighters. Luckily there were no friendly casualties in this rare incident, due to the First Sergeant's decision to bring everyone to "stand to" before the drop. It is still unclear what caused the pilot to target the wrong position. "If it wasn't for the decision of our First Sergeant, three of our guys would have died in that wooden building which was shredded by shrapnel." In June, the prosecution accused al-Tawaiha of voluntary manslaughter, violating military orders, and insulting the dignity and reputation of the armed forces. On Monday, a military court in Amman sentenced him to “hard labor for life”—a punishment that typically lasts 20 years in Jordan, with the possibility of time off for good behavior. According to the court ruling, the incident began on November 4 when a four-vehicle convoy carrying the soldiers approached the King Faisal Airbase in Jordan, eliciting “a low sound of gunfire from a distant and unknown source.” Al-Tawaiha, who was standing guard at the gate, said he opened fire because he believed the vehicles were about to stage an attack. The victims’ relatives have since argued that security camera footage shows al-Tawaiha reloading his gun and aiming at the soldiers, who presented themselves as friendly forces. The court’s ruling appears to confirm this report, arguing that al-Tawaiha “fired a full magazine of ammunition … intending to kill [the soldiers] after it was clear to him who they were.”

We hadn't taken much contact in this area, and it was generally considered a "safe" zone in Logar Province. We patrolled the area frequently, and the locals would regularly thank us for pushing the Taliban away from their village so they could live their daily lives without constant threat. This patrol was a relief in place and I was on point leading the new guys in for the RIP. We hadn't taken much contact in this area, and it was generally considered a "safe" zone in Logar Province.
We patrolled the area frequently, and the locals would regularly thank us for pushing the Taliban away from their village so they could live their daily lives without constant threat.
The Taliban that we came across during this patrol were actually setting up to shoot down our new surveillance balloon that was launched in the area. The balloon caught the entire fight on camera from above, which confirmed that we killed 3 Taliban fighters during this engagement.
I saw the first guy shoulder his RPG, take a knee, and point it directly at me from about 15 meters away. I'm not sure if it was luck, but I shot first and hit him twice. The rest of the team engaged immediately after.
At the end of the day there were no friendly casualties, and we had eliminated 3 Taliban fighters.
I wanted to share the video with the world because I was sick of hearing all the ignorant things said about what we are doing over there. People need to understand what it's like on the ground for the troops on the front line, and see what we have to deal with on a daily basis without some political spin on the story.
This footage has been edited to exclude the close up graphic footage of the enemy KIA.

We were doing overwatch on the village to recon and gather intel. I was point heading down the face of the hill with the LT. when we got hit. the rest of the squad was pinned down by machine gun fire. I didn't start the video until a few mins into the firefight for obvious reasons. I came out into the open to draw fire so my squad could get to safety."
"A round struck the tube by my hand of the 203 grenade launcher which knocked it out of my hands. When I picked the rifle back up it was still functional but the grenade launcher tube had a nice sized 7.62 cal bullet hole in it and was rendered useless. "

The initial engagement sparks a firefight that lasts 2 hours where over 3,000 rounds, 4 60mm mortars, and 4 Carl Gustav rounds are spent. There were no friendly casualties during this engagement.
The loud snapping sounds heard at the start of the video are caused by 7.62mm rounds flying overhead.

Paktika Province, Afghanistan - After spotting Taliban forces on a distant ridge line, U.S. Army mortar teams engage with 60mm mortars. A simultaneous airstrike is called in which accidentally drops a 500 pound bomb on a U.S. Army infantry outpost, mistaking the position for Taliban fighters.
Luckily there were no friendly casualties in this rare incident, due to the First Sergeant's decision to bring everyone to "stand to" before the drop. It is still unclear what caused the pilot to target the wrong position.
"If it wasn't for the decision of our First Sergeant, three of our guys would have died in that wooden building which was shredded by shrapnel."

Gangs In The US Army Documentary 2017: VICIOUS Gangsters in Serve in The US Military
Sworn to protect us from every enemy, foreign and domestic, and every day the majority of soldiers do just that ! yet some units are being compromised and turn into street gangs.
An FBI report recently showed an increased gang activity within US soldiers.
Not all of the US army and marine soldiers are 100% legit, nor they joined the US armed forces for the right reasons - it seems like more and more gang members joined in order to get free military training and gain new skills that they can use when they are back in their street gangs.
This epidemic of gang members in the US army, marines and even the navy is getting worse. It seems like the background checks aren't that accurate and can't always detect whos legit vs whos a criminal.
Some say, the us army and armed forces deliberately recruit gang members and criminals so they won't have to deal with them and maybe even get rid of them in wars outside the country, but obviously theres no proof that it is true.
The us military is one of the strongest in the world, but what happens when the trained US soldiers turn evil and form gangs ?
Thats exactly what we will find out in this fascinating documentary.

Jordanian soldier was sentenced to life in prison on Monday for fatally shooting three U.S. military trainers outside an army base in southern Jordan last November. The soldier, 39-year-old Maarik al-Tawaiha, previously pleaded “not guilty,” arguing that a vehicle containing the now-deceased soldiers—Matthew Lewellen, Kevin McEnroe, and James Moriarty—appeared to pose a threat to the base. In June, the prosecution accused al-Tawaiha of voluntary manslaughter, violating military orders, and insulting the dignity and reputation of the armed forces. On Monday, a military court in Amman sentenced him to “hard labor for life”—a punishment that typically lasts 20 years in Jordan, with the possibility of time off for good behavior.
According to the court ruling, the incident began on November 4 when a four-vehicle convoy carrying the soldiers approached the King Faisal Airbase in Jordan, eliciting “a low sound of gunfire from a distant and unknown source.” Al-Tawaiha, who was standing guard at the gate, said he opened fire because he believed the vehicles were about to stage an attack. The victims’ relatives have since argued that security camera footage shows al-Tawaiha reloading his gun and aiming at the soldiers, who presented themselves as friendly forces. The court’s ruling appears to confirm this report, arguing that al-Tawaiha “fired a full magazine of ammunition … intending to kill [the soldiers] after it was clear to him who they were.”

Sworn to protect us from every enemy, foreign and domestic, and every day the majority of soldiers do just that ! yet some units are being compromised and turn into street gangs.
An FBI report recently showed an increased gang activity within US soldiers.
Not all of the US army and marine soldiers are 100% legit, nor they joined the US armed forces for the right reasons - it seems like more and more gang members joined in order to get free military training and gain new skills that they can use when they are back in their street gangs.
This epidemic of gang members in the US army, marines and even the navy is getting worse. It seems like the background checks aren't that accurate and can't always detect whos legit vs whos a criminal.
Some say, the us army and armed forces deliberately recruit gang members and criminals so they won't have to deal with them and maybe even get rid of them in wars outside the country, but obviously theres no proof that it is true.

This 1943 educational / training film (originally titled as ‘A Welcome to Britain’) introduces US soldiers to Britain and tells them what to expect, how to behave and how not to behave in Britain during World War 2. The film aims to explain British culture and character. Starting with the ubiquitous pub visit, the film breezes through geography lessons, food, entertainment and traveling on the British Home Front. It was made by the Ministry of Information (United Kingdom) with the assistance of the US Office of War Information. Remarkably the film is not a patronizing propaganda piece like so many other similar productions made during the war.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND / CONTEXT
The United States and Great Britain have been firm allies for a century. Their mutually beneficial relationship particularly deepened during World War 2, when the circumstances of war brought hundreds of thousands of Americans through the British Isles.
The United States entered the war in December 1941, and American ground forces arrived in Belfast the following month. By February 1942 members of the U.S. Eighth Air Force were on the ground, building towards a strategic bombing campaign. American and British naval and air units cooperated in fierce battles for the control of the Atlantic. The U.S. troop build-up progressed quickly at first to support Operation Bolero, the buildup for a proposed invasion of France. Bolero was suspended amidst concerns that a 1942 or 1943 cross-channel invasion would be premature, and troops were diverted to North Africa and the Mediterranean. In the second half of 1943 the American buildup in Great Britain resumed in earnest.
The United Kingdom served as a critical base for American operations throughout the war. U.S. troops embarked from there for the invasion of North Africa in November 1942, and for subsequent operations in the Mediterranean. American units participating in the Combined Bomber Offensive and the air war over Europe were based in England. Great Britain served as the training ground and staging area for Operation Overlord, the massive amphibious invasion of Europe through Normandy on June 6, 1944 – D-Day. Over 1,600,000 American servicemen and women were in Great Britain as the invasion was launched. Numbers dwindled thereafter, but as late as April 30, 1945 there were still over 224,000 airmen, 109,000 communications zone troops, and 100,000 in hospitals or preparing to serve as individual replacements.
At the height of the American presence in Great Britain, American servicemen and women were ubiquitous through much of the island nation. They built or occupied vast encampments of their own, but also spent time in local pubs and establishments, toured the countryside, and befriended British families. Both nations established impressive programs to bring the two cultures together amicably, and to accommodate and entertain the visitors. Tens of thousands of American servicemen married English women, bringing them back to the United States after the war ended. American Forces Radio Network broadcast from the United Kingdom, bringing music and news from “home” to the British air waves. American Red Cross Service Clubs opened to entertain American servicemen off their bases. Pieces of American life and culture were seen and felt across the United Kingdom throughout the war, and Americans in turn took pieces of British life and culture home with them.

WATCH OUT CHINA the US Military is turning up the heat on Chinese computer hackers in new documentary. JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. - The widespread usage of computer networking has become one of the U.S. military's greatest advantages.
On the battlefield, computers are valuable force multipliers, greatly aiding commanders in the command and control of their forces.
Our enemies also use computers, however, and can turn our advantage into a disadvantage if soldiers don’t follow proper security procedures.
To aid in combating this threat, October has been designated National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
“Cyber security means ensuring the integrity, availability and confidentiality of information on the DoD network,” said Jack Potter, information security manager for the Mission Support Element G-6 here.
Hostile nation-states can employ state-of-the-art technology to attempt to breach our cyber security methods. Any networked computer can come under attack.
“Whether it’s attempting to gain access to a military network or steal your personal information, the threat is always out there,” said Sgt. 1st Class James Stephenson, a Fort Worth, Texas, native, and non-commissioned officer-in-charge of the I Corps Information Assurance section.
“I can turn off a computer, lock it in a safe, and bury the safe. That's the only way to make a computer completely secure. As soon as I plug it in, put it on the network, and connect a user to it, there are vulnerabilities,” Potter said.
The majority of those vulnerabilities are related to how the computer is being used, Potter said.
Hackers long ago learned that while it was possible to break into a computer system through trial and error, the easiest way to gain access was tricking legitimate users into letting them in.
“The best advice I can give the average user is to always be aware of what you're looking at. Don't visit websites you don't know, don't trust, and don't need. Always be aware that there are risks,” Potter said.
Some computer attacks seek to gain access to secure networks, while others attempt to gain personal information about the computer user.
The popularity of social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, has brought a corresponding level of cyber security risk.
“If a unit has a Facebook page, and puts information about unit missions on that page, they have made that information available to adversaries who may be looking for it,” Potter said.
Social networking also puts personal information at risk. Seemingly harmless information, such as birthdays or anniversaries, can be a risk.
Most social networking sites allow users to control the privacy settings of their information.
Users of government computers should remember that such computers are meant for official use only.
“Your government computer is not your personal computer. Your government computer is a weapons system. You wouldn’t take your Stryker to the grocery store, and you wouldn’t drive your Honda Accord across the battlefield. They both have the capability, but they aren’t made for that. Your computer is the same way,” Potter said.

“If a unit has a Facebook page, and puts information about unit missions on that page, they have made that information available to adversaries who may be looking for it,” Potter said.
Social networking also puts personal information at risk. Seemingly harmless information, such as birthdays or anniversaries, can be a risk.
Most social networking sites allow users to control the privacy settings of their information.
Users of government computers should remember that such computers are meant for official use only.
“Your government computer is not your personal computer. Your government computer is a weapons system. You wouldn’t take your Stryker to the grocery store, and you wouldn’t drive your Honda Accord across the battlefield. They both have the capability, but they aren’t made for that. Your computer is the same way,” Potter said.

Footage shows U.S. Soldiers from U.S. paratroopers assigned to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division during intense jungle survival training led by French army instructors inside the French jungle warfare school to learn how to fight, survive, navigate and set up booby traps inside the deadly green hell of the african jungle.
The soldiers conduct tense Physical Training, a Land Navigation Course and a team obstacle course before they are teached how to fight and set up booby traps inside the junge aswell.
Also the U.S. paratroopers assigned to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division learn new first aid techniques and how to treat a casualty with an IV at the French Jungle Warfare School.
Jungle warfare is a term used to cover the special techniques needed for military units to survive and fight in jungle terrain.
It has been the topic of extensive study by military strategists, and was an important part of the planning for both sides in many conflicts, including World War II and the Vietnam War.
The jungle has a variety of effects on military operations. Dense vegetation can limit lines of sight and arcs of fire, but can also provide ample opportunity for camouflage and plenty of material with which to build fortifications.
Jungle terrain, often without good roads, can be inaccessible to vehicles and so makes supply and transport difficult, which in turn places a premium on air mobility. The problems of transport make engineering resources important as they are needed to improve roads, build bridges and airfields, and improve water supplies.
Jungle environments can also be inherently unhealthy, with various tropical diseases that have to be prevented or treated by medical services. Likewise the terrain can make it difficult to deploy armoured forces, or any other kind of forces on any large scale. Successful jungle fighting emphasises effective small unit tactics and leadership.
The Jungle Warfare School ran its first course in 1983. Since then, the French school's top priority has been to train their African partners, in addition to some European troops. This is the first time any U.S. servicemember has attended the course, which focuses on terrain unfamiliar to today's ordinary Soldier.
Soldiers navigated the two to four-hour long obstacle course twice, once as individuals and once in squad-sized groups. Most events invovled moving across shaky surfaces over murky waters, requiring strength, concentration and the ability to persevere past pain and fear. Soldiers relied on one another to push through mental doubts.
In addition to enhancing their overall operational readiness, Soldiers of 3-7th Infantry also improved their ability to communicate across cultural and language barriers.
After a strenuous week in the jungle, Soldiers were ready for hot food, showers and air conditioning. Even though Hubbard said he was not much of an "outdoorsy" person before, he is now upon completing the course.
Following Jungle Warfare School, the Soldiers joined others of 2nd IBCT, the regionally allocated force for U.S. Army Africa, to train side by side with their Gabonese and other African and European partner nations during Central Accord 2016. U.S. Army Africa's exercise Central Accord 2016 is an annual, combined, joint military exercise that brings together partner nations to practice and demonstrate proficiency in conducting peacekeeping operations.

The Lockheed C-5 Galaxy is a large military transport aircraft built by Lockheed. It provides the United States Air Force (USAF) with a heavy intercontinental-range strategic airlift capability, one that can carry outsize and oversize cargos, including all air-certifiable cargo. The Galaxy has many similarities to its smaller C-141 Starlifter predecessor, and the later C-17 Globemaster. The C-5 is among the largest military aircraft in the world.
The C-5 Galaxy had a complicated development; significant cost overruns were experienced and Lockheed suffered significant financial difficulties. Shortly after entering service, fractures in the wings of many aircraft were discovered and the C-5 fleet were restricted in capability until corrective work was conducted. The C-5M Super Galaxy is an upgraded version with new engines and modernized avionics designed to extend its service life beyond 2040.
The C-5 Galaxy has been operated by USAF since 1969. In that time, it has been used to support US military operations in all major conflicts including Vietnam, Iraq, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan; as well as in support of allies, such as Israel during the Yom Kippur War and NATO operations in the Gulf War. Please read before commenting: A very basic overview of some of the main U.S. military rifles since the 18th century. We mainly look at the evolution of the technology in primary issue rifles or rifles similar to them that I happen to own.
Since I chat unscripted without a leash for 35 minutes, you can imagine that I have a little clean-up to do. :-) I'll add needed correction here in the description below. I won't add much elaboration, as this is not meant to be a video about the entire history or everything about these specific firearms; it's more of a basics video, as I state at the beginning, to give folks something of a picture of the major stepping stones in military musket / rifle development through the last 200 + years.
Some clarification or further BASIC information:
1. The Brown Bess is a smooth bore musket, like most shotgun barrels. I mistakenly call it a rifle in the video. I don't think I mention it, but the 1858 Enfield used in the Civil War has a rifled barrel, as do all the firearms on the table after the Brown Bess.
2. The tubular magazines of lever guns are not safe with pointed bullets. Think about it. :-) The 1895 Winchester lever gun solved this by not using the tubular magazine, but with most lever guns, we were limited to flatter-nosed bullets. The bolt gun, with rounds stacked on top of one another, allowed as sharp a point on the bullet as we wanted.
3, For some reason (Brain fade), I failed to show you how the Garand loads. Guess most of you have seen it in the movies, at least, and hopefully, in our Garand videos. :-)
4. I believe Eugene Stoner was developing the AR-10 even before the '60s, but the AR15/M16 did not get into soldiers hands until the '60s, I believe.
