Hon'ble Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister of State for Micro and Medium Enterprises, Government of India., visited the Sulabh Campus today and he was eagerly greeted by the Neo-Brahmins of Alwar and Tonk, the widows of Vrindavan, the inhabitants of the Trump Village (who now have Sulabh toilets in their homes), and the people from the West Bengal villages (who earlier suffered from arsenic-related diseases but are now cured due to getting purified water from the ponds and wells) as well as the members of Sulabh International. The Hon'ble Minister came and conquered the hearts of every one by bestowing his love and affection on the Sulabh family and the students of the Sulabh Public School. He saw different inventions and discoveries by the Founder of Sulabh International Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak and he was amazed to see the appropriate, affordable, indigenous and culturally acceptable technology. He visited the Sulabh Health Centre and suggested that it should develop the use of homeopathic medicines even for the growth of the plants. He wondered about the magical conversion of human waste into biogas and its different uses like lighting lamps, warming bodies, cooking food and the conversion into energy. He was amazed to see the Waste Water Affluent Treatment plant attached to the Sulabh Public Toilet Complex, where the water is treated so well that it contains less than 10 BOD per mg per litre. He appreciated the fact that this water can be used as a fertiliser in the fields to raise farm productivity and can be safely discharged into the river bodies. He also had a chance to see the different designs of Sulabh Household Flush Toilets invented by Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak and how it was equally suitable for the poor, the middle class and the rich. He also saw how just one litre water was enough to flush human excreta from pan to pits. The Hon'ble Minister Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises,Government of India also visited the Sulabh Public School and the Sulabh Skill Development & Training Centre. He saw how the sanitary napkins were manufactured by the girls of the Sulabh Sanitation Club and how it could be disposed off. He gave his blessings to the students of Sulabh Public School and the Training Centre and sang the national song "Vande Matram" with them. The Hon'ble Minister Shri Giriraj Singh specially pleased to see the Sulabh International Museum of Toilets, one of its kinds in the world. He was amused to see a depiction that shows how elephants in Thailand are trained to use the toilets. The Minister went to the Prayer Hall and attended the prayer. He gave a short and beautiful speech and blessed the Sulabh family. He informed the gathering how fertiliser can be made by combining hair with urine of both humans and animals along with biodegradable material that can raise farm productivity. He also spoke about how cows can be saved from extinction. He praised the efforts of the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi-ji, and he was very pleased to hear the song "Son of India". Because of paucity of time, he took only a glass of coconut water and promised to come again to see the Sulabh campus and discuss in details about exploring different technologies for implementation for the welfare of animals, especially the cows, and how large employment can be generated by making green fertilisers instead of urea and chemical fertilisers to save the people from many diseases, especially cancer. All members of Sulabh family felt obliged by the appreciative gesture shown by the Hon'ble Minister and thanked him for his kind blessings.
