Though it only has to move around 2,150 lbs, Frank's Lotus makes 680 wheel horsepower with a twin-charged 1.8L engine; giving it a better power-to-weight ratio than Mario Andretti's Formula One Lotus. It's an ongoing project that may never be finished, because of Frank's never-ending obsession with speed. We had to take it for a ride.

Lotus Evora
The Lotus Evora is a sports car produced by British car manufacturer Lotus. The car, which was developed under the project name Project Eagle, was launched as the Evora on 22 July 2008 at the British International Motor Show. The Evora S was launched in 2010 with a supercharged equipped 3.5-litre V6. A facelifted and more powerful Evora 400 model was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Development
The Lotus Evora is based on the first all-new vehicle platform from Lotus Cars since the introduction of the Lotus Elise in 1995 (the Exige, introduced in 2000, and the 2006 Europa S are both derivatives of the Elise). Evora was planned to be the first vehicle of three to be built on the same platform.
Evora is the first product of a five-year plan started in 2006 to expand the Lotus line-up beyond its current track-specialized offerings, with the aim of making Evora a somewhat of a more practical road car that would appeal to the mainstream. As such it is a larger car than recent Lotus models Elise and its derivatives (Exige, Europa S, etc.), with an unladen weight of 1,383 kg (3,049 lb).

As I prepared to eat my weight in burgers on the first day of Wellington's most talked about food festival, I took all the right steps. I wore loose clothing, skipped out on breakfast and walked half-an-hour to the first burger joint ... That was easy, one down, 122 to go ... Price ... I'd swap the various root vegetables for solely lotus chips if I had this burger again....

I was up before dawn one Saturday in late summer 2008. I was on a quest to get my hands on a hard-to-find part for my 1970 Lotus classic car. the silver strip under the doors had fallen off. I’d been searching for months, and finally tracked down a secondhand part at a dealer near Birmingham, who said I had to pick it up in person ... But I could make out the driver ...
