Hundreds of volunteers with a heart for deceased military veterans placed seasonal decorations on the U.S. National Cemetery at Fort Smith's 16,000 headstones around noon Saturday. The cemetery's 9th annual Christmas Honors program, which aims to decorate each of the site's headstones with a wreath, drew veterans, volunteers, city officials, law enforcement and school groups to the cemetery to pay their dues to those buried on its grounds.
