Bob Dylan (/ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, artist and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest, although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his generation. Nevertheless, early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements. After he left his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone" altered the range of popular music in 1965. His mid-1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the United States music charts while also attracting denunciation and criticism from others in the folk movement.
Dylan's lyrics have incorporated various political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning counterculture. Initially inspired by the performances of Little Richard, and the songwriting of Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, Dylan has amplified and personalized musical genres. His recording career, spanning 50 years, has explored the traditions in American song—from folk, blues, and country to gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music, embracing even jazz and the Great American Songbook. Dylan performs with guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. Backed by a changing line-up of musicians, he has toured steadily since the late 1980s on what has been dubbed the Never Ending Tour. His accomplishments as a recording artist and performer have been central to his career, but songwriting is considered his greatest contribution.

Plot: With a set of drums and an 8mm color home movie camera, Mickey Jones toured the world in 1966 with Bob Dylan and The Band. He captured on film what became known as "The tour that changed Rock and Roll forever." The booing crowds, the scathing reviews, the stomping feet, the infamous catcall of "Judas!" ... all of this in response to Dylan trading in his acoustic folk guitar for an electric sound. Now, for the first time, drummer-turned-actor Mickey Jones (Sling Blade, Home Improvement), with the help of Director Joel Gilbert, chronicles the legendary 1966 Bob Dylan World Tour through his recently discovered home movies. The updated release includes new, exclusive full-length interviews with Charlie Daniels, Johnny Rivers, 1966 World Tour and Gaslight tapes sound man Richard Alderson, and new insights and revelations by Mickey Jones.

Plot: This epic is a mass amalgamation of three separate film-types that is, contrary to popular opinion, coherent and a unified whole. Bob Dylan is shown in concert, often masked, during the Rolling Thunder Revue. The film also features documentary footage, including Ruben "Hurricane" Carter's struggle against the forces that have imprisoned him. The third element is fictional "role-playing" footage with Bob Dylan in the guise of guitar-strumming Renaldo and his wife Sara as his companion Clara. Ronnie Hawkins takes on the role of Bob Dylan in these sequences. The film includes footage of a visit to the grave of Jack Kerouac, an Allen Ginsberg poetry reading and various friends and acquaintances, namely David Blue (playing pinball by a swimming pool), discussing experiences on the road.

Plot: A committee investigating TV's first uncensored network examines a typical day's programming, which includes shows, commercials, news programs, you name it. What they discover will surely crack you up! This outrageous and irreverent spoof of television launched the careers of some of the greatest comedians of all time.

Hello everyone, New video for today, from the 2017 US Fall Tour. The taper Spot found a way to record the final night of the five shows residency at the magnificent and historical Beacon Theatre. Bob has been to the Beacon multiple times throughout his career, with always incredible shows. This is certainly one of his best. The performances were so good you won't believe your hears. If you're a fan of his current voice, this is a show to be treasured. All the reviews are glowing and I cannot agree more. The set hasn't moved an inch but each song is sublime. Also Mavis Staple made a thundering performance. You really need to hear her new album If All I Was Was Black. I hope you will love what you hear. Below is the review made by boblinks.com. Hello everyone. Today I upload a new concert after being absent for a while. This time, we're jumping in 1978 and what was one of Dylan's darkest period and one of his most controversial tour. A lot of people thought the 1978 World Tour or "Alimony Tour" was bad, due to the Live at Budokan double LP. In fact, it was one of the most exciting, especially in Europe in Summer and the US in Autumn. This tape is from the Pavillon de Paris concert in July. You can find it on the bootleg "Border Beneath The Sun". It was the fourth night from a series of six concerts in Paris. Bob is on fire and you can hear the power of the big band. He's rocking with all he can and the Street-Legal songs are amazing. The sound is excellent. This is a must have for any fan of Bob Dylan during that time. I in...
Concert starts at 6:20 for the Gospel Sisters, Dylan Set begins at 24:25. If you don't hear sound, don't worry, several songs were cut-out due to copyright (the only way to keep this video up). Hello everyone, New video for today, back in 1979 in honour of Dylan Gospel Years and the new bootleg series volume 13: Trouble No More. Due to an issue on my 1997 releases, I decided to post this video instead. The video presented here is from the fourth and final night at the Toronto Massey Hall for the Third Gospel Tour the 20th April 1980. The footage comes from the Elite Series Volume 40 (if you want more information about the code used here, check dvdylan.com). This concert was filmed professionally by Dylan crew for a potential live album release but instead Bob went with the studio album ...
O premio Nobel da Literatura,Bob Dylan With Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Hard to Handle Live
“I had little in common with and knew even less about a generation that I was supposed to be the voice of…”, Bob Dylan writes in his 2004 autobiography “Chronicles Volume One”. Plain words that symbolised his diffi cult relationship with the off stage world. Adored by his fans and thought of as some kind of Messiah by the media, Dylan spent the better part of his life trying to escape their stifl ing embrace. Even Bob Dylan himself can’t deny the social impact of his songs. For four decades, “The thinking man‘s Elvis” (Warhol) has been a captivator, provoker, confuser and innovator who released more than 500 songs and played thousands of sometimes wondrous, sometimes wonderful concerts around the globe. One of those concerts was on May 23rd 1976 when Dylan played in the frame of his “Rolli...

A LoloYodel remix ... it had already been upload by the grand Mattman. Here, I took this one back from scratch, remixing both video's (with various color corrections here and there) as well as on the audio. Is it an upgrade ? no idea, maybe yes, maybe no ... A look back at Bob Dylan's amazing career. He's been around for almost 50 years as a musical artist and has remained one of the most unique personalities of all time!
Bob Dylan's 1965 San Francisco televised press conference in full. Recorded on 3 December 1965. Read the full context in the book 'JUDAS!' by Clinton Heylin. https://dylanjudas.wordpress.com/
Bob Dylan opened about his music and songwriting and discussed his relationships with Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and others in a rare and lengthy interview posted to his website Wednesday. In the Q&A; with author Bill Flanagan , Dylan recalled Sinatra telling him, "'You and me, pal, we got blue eyes, we're from up there... These other bums are from down here." A person close to the Dylan camp, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the person was not allowed to publicly talk about the topic, said Dylan wanted to do an interview for his website and Flanagan, a writer and former MTV executive, agreed to do it. When asked during the interview about why Presley didn't show up for a recording session with Dylan and George Harrison, he replied: "He did show up — it was us that didn't."...
Filmed in Bob Dylan's trailer while he was working on the Hollywood movie HEARTS OF FIRE, in which Dylan played a retired rocker called Billy Parker. This clip is part of a BBC 'Omnibus' documentary called 'Getting to Dylan' (1987)

Thought I'd post this previously unseen recording of a Dylan press conference from 1986. I shot it in Brett Whiteley's studio and it's sat on the shelf since then. I found the old tape and thought I'd share it to celebrate the 24th May. Happy Birthday Bob Dylan and thanks for everything you've shared with us over the years. Bob Dylan (/ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American songwriter, singer, artist, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when his songs chronicled social unrest. Early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements. Leaving behind his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone", recorded in 1965, enlarged the range of popular music. Dylan's lyrics incorporate a wide range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning countercult...

This was recorded in 1966 so it was a few years before The Band split and did their own thing. I think it's pretty cool to see Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, and Richard Manuel playing with Dylan at such an early time, so early The Band didn't even look like themselves because this was before they got the look that we're all so familiar with. Hope you enjoy! EDIT: Robbie plays an amazing solo at the very end of the song right after the camera pans away from Richard

Hello everyone, This is a reupload of a video requested from 2006 that was deleted, now fixed. The description is the same as before. This is the 16th concert of the US Spring Tour. The tape comes from LB-3876 and is a complete audience stereo recording. Another good show in New Orleans at the Jazz Festival with Bob and his Band. The sound is full and the audience is really enjoying it. The performance is a classic set from the era, with Maggie's Farm as a rocking intro, and the no holds barred finale with Like A Rolling Stone and All Along The Watchtower. My highlights are Lonesome Day Blues, Watching The River Flow, and Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues. Hope you like them as much as I do. New video for today, back to 2006, as a request. This is the 16th concert of the 2006 US Spring Tour....

The best is of course the duet on guitar and vocals with Elvis Costello on Tears Of Rage. Hope you will like it. Here is the setlist Announcement 00:00 1. Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat 00:59 2. Hello everyone, New video today from the 90's. This is another great compilation from the blog A Thounsand Highways and includes the best of the years 1989 to 1993, with rare performances, studio sessions and more. Also, the first part includes the very rare Bromberg Sessions. Before Good As I Been To You, Bob worked with long-time partner David Bromberg (they first met in 1970 for Self-Portrait) to record a new album. The sessions didn't come to fruition and Bob went on his way. However, thanks to the Bootleg Series Vol.8, we had a preview of how great those sessions were. For now, only three other songs circulate, and they are just perfect. A rare treasure and certainly one of the holy grail of Dylan's career. 1989 to 1993 also offered classic performances, like the 60th anniversary cel...
Hello everyone, New video for today, and certainly one of the best so far. This is another compilation, but one that was asked by many of you: the famous Planet Waves outtakes. Not much is circulating from the last album Bob and The Band did, back in 1973 (released in 1974 and followed by their incredible reunion tour). I gathered all the outtakes and demos I could find and assembled them into a comprehensive collection I'm sure you will like. The first bootleg is very mysterious since it doesn't have any information on where it comes from, apart from a great name, "In The Footsteps Of Planet Waves". On it, you'll find the outtakes, plus great renditions of Planet Waves during the 1974 tour and the rehearsals in Clearwater, Florida, during the famous Rolling Thunder Revue in 1976. Also...
some great commentary and some great early performances.
Hello everyone, Today I present a new compilation of studio material, as a bit of change from the 2017 tour. As you may know, after the 1966 Tour, Bob crashed his motorcycle and stopped touring for almost a decade with a few exceptions (a tribute to Woody Guthrie in 1968, two festivals in 1969, one appearance for the Concert for Bangladesh in 1971, and a guest appearance for the new year's eve show of the Band the same year). When the world came almost tumbling down in 1968, everyone went looking for Dylan "the folk hero, the protest singer, the prophet, the voice of his generation", but no one found him and he didn't answer the calls. During that time, he had fun with his mates between upstate New York, Nashville, and New York City. He tried out new things, way outside the political t...

New edit of my previous video, with the usual corrections regarding copyrights. I'll upload the two other volumes in the next days, as well as several requests gigs from 1989 and onwards. "Hello everyone, After a small absence due to work, here is another video. I've decided to upload some videos first before continuing the requests you've submitted. The first three will be the famous Genuine Bootleg Series. When the first Bootleg Series was announced in 1991, many fans felt a bit frustrated that some of Bob's material wasn't included. The bootlegger decided to do better than Sony. Like they did for Biograph with the legendary Ten of Swords box set back in the 80's, they upgraded the Bootleg Series with three 3-discs box set of rare material, comprising studio outtakes, rehearsals and l...
Hello everyone and happy new year, This is a reupload of an old video with new additions like an alternate mix of Idiot Wind (without the organ overdubs) and the rare Meet Me In The Morning from the Duquesne Whistle Single. Again Blood On The Tracks is one of, if not the best, album of Dylan's career, relating his relationships issues with his wife Sara until the divorce in 1978. His son Jakob described the songs of the album as "his parent's talking". The album was recorded in two different locations. The first was in New York, with just an acoustic guitar and a very simple rhythm. Until late in December, the record was ready and pressed with the New York Sessions. But Bob wasn't satisfied and with the help of his brother David he rerecorded several of the songs with a local band in Min...
Hello everyone, This is a repost of my previous video on the Desire Sessions. The mix was considered copyrighted and I had to edit it out with several other songs so that the video could be available again. I will post a new tracklist but for reference purposes, I included the description from the previous video so you have an idea of the material in the bootleg. I hope you will like it as much as I do. "Although not as revered as Blood On The Tracks, Desire is still one of Dylan's strongest album with incredible songs like the protest song Hurricane about Rubin Hurricane Carter, a black boxer wrongfully accused of murder. The song launched the Rolling Thunder Revue across New England to plead for his release from prison, culminating with a concert at Madison Square Garden and another ...

Well, if I had to do it all over again,
Babe, I'd do it all over you.
And if I had to wait for ten thousand years,
Babe, I'd even do that too.
Well, a dog's got his bone in the alley,
A cat, she's got nine lives,
A millionaire's got a million dollars,
King Saud's got four hundred wives.
Well, ev'rybody's got somethin'
That they're lookin' forward to.
I'm lookin' forward to when I can do it all again
And babe, I'll do it all over you.
Well, if I had my way tomorrow or today,
Babe, I'd run circles all around.
I'd jump up in the wind, do a somersault and spin,
I'd even dance a jig on the ground.
Well, everybody gets their hour,
Everybody gets their time,
Little David when he picked up his pebbles,
Even Sampson after he went blind.
Well, everybody gets the chance
To do what they want to do.
When my time arrives you better run for your life
'Cause babe, I'll do it all over you.
Well, I don't need no money, I just need a day that's sunny,
Baby, and my days are gonna come.
And I grab me a pint, you know that I'm a giant
When you hear me yellin', "Fee-fi-fo-fum."
Well, you cut me like a jigsaw puzzle,
You made me to a walkin' wreck,
Then you pushed my heart through my backbone,
Then you knocked off my head from my neck.
Well, if I'm ever standin' steady
A-doin' what I want to do,
Well, I tell you little lover that you better run for cover
'Cause babe, I'll do it all over you.
I'm just restin' at your gate so that I won't be late
And, momma, I'm a-just sittin' on the shelf.
Look out your window fair and you'll see me squattin' there
Just a-fumblin' and a-mumblin' to myself.
Well, after my cigarette's been smoked up,
After all my liquor's been drunk,
After my dreams are dreamed out,
After all my thoughts have been thunk,
Well, after I do some of these things,
I'm gonna do what I have to do.
And I tell you on the side, that you better run and hide
