A look through time in Logan Utah. This brief movie presents various places in Logan from the 1890's to the 1970's and are compared to the present. A fascinating slideshow depicting photographs of yesteryear. I went back to where these original photographers once tread and show what these various places of interest look like today. I lined up both images precisely in an overlapping slideshow and dissolve them into each other so one can see how time changed exactly in the same area.

Logan, Utah
Logan is a city in Cache County, Utah, United States. As of the 2010 census the population was 48,174, with an estimated population of 48,997 in 2014. Logan is the county seat of Cache County and the principal city of the Logan, UT-ID Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Cache County and Franklin County, Idaho. The Logan metropolitan area contained 125,442 people as of the 2010 census. In 2005 and 2007, Morgan Quitno declared the Logan metropolitan area the safest in the United States.
Logan is the location of the main campus of Utah State University.
History
The town of Logan was founded in 1859 by settlers sent by Brigham Young to survey for the site of a fort near the banks of the Logan River. They named their new community "Logan" for Ephraim Logan, an early fur trapper in the area. Logan was incorporated on 17 January 1866.Brigham Young College was founded here in 1878 (but later closed), and Utah State University – then called the Agricultural College of Utah – was founded in 1888.

Utah is the most religiously homogeneous state in the United States, the only state with a Mormon majority, and the only state with a majority population belonging to a single church.

A fascinating slideshow depicting photographs of yesteryear. I went back to where these original photographers once tread and show what these various places of interest look like today. I lined up both images precisely in an overlapping slideshow and dissolve them into each other so one can see how time changed exactly in the same area.

Traveling to Logan From Salt Lake City, Utah
I took a trip up to Logan, Utah. It was a great time, its elevation is higher than Salt Lake and its always a great time. We always check out the Gossner Cheese Factory and the surrounding beauty of small town U.S.A. On our way up to Logan we love to take I-80 and checkout out Perry, Utah, which has the Rusted Spoon Restaurant; in my opinion one of the best restaurants in Perry. The Oriental Gardens Suite at Anniversary Inn in Logan, UT
For our 25th anniversary, Amy and I spent a couple of days at the Anniversary Inn in Logan, UT. The first night, we stayed in "Oriental Gardens" shown in this video. We really liked this room. It's very pretty and has one of the larger tubs at the Inn. The next night, we stayed in Jesse James Hideout (another video).

Traveling with kids can be challenging. Erin is traveling with the kids across the country. She shares some tips and tricks she is using to make this trip easier. This is day 5 of their journey. Day 5 is the first day they have spent in one place. We didn't drive today! We took it easy this morning. We had lunch and visited with Grandma and Grandpa Great. We heard stories and saw amazing pictures of their travels in Egypt. We did a city tour of Logan, Utah. We ate Aggie Ice Cream. We visited Utah State University, Logan Tabernacle, Logan Temple. During our evening visit with the Great Grandparents we looked at pictures from Russia, Sweden, and family pictures. It was so fun to laugh at the old pictures of all of our family members. My grandma is so beautiful. I can't wait to get a copy of the photos and show you guys. On the way home, we got root beer floats from A&W;.
They were amazing! And may have cause problems at bedtime.

It's very pretty and has one of the larger tubs at the Inn. The next night, we stayed in Jesse James Hideout (another video).

This off-road trail takes you from the Logan side of the Bear River Range near Logan Peak, over to the Bear Lake side connecting with multiple other trails. Due to its elevation and location, it is only open about half of the year. Hunting is popular in the fall season while campers flood the sites during the summer all throughout this network of trails. Spend some time exploring Old Ephraim's Grave or head up to Peter Sinks trails to experience some extreme temperature changes. You will find it hard to not have something to do. As you wind your way through the mountains, you will see a number of campsites to suit your needs. You can find many spots nearby other camps if you have a large number of people or you can easily find a secluded spot off in the trees where you will not be disturbed. Any way you choose, you are sure to enjoy some time within this network of trails.

Glider Flight to Tetons - Longest Gliding Video on Youtube at 5:34:31?
Can you watch all of this 5.5 hour glider flight from Logan, Utah to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming and back home? I was finally able to fix battery issues on my GoPro camera and could record the entire flight. Why not try showing the whole thing? It got pretty tense when I finally flew to the base of the Grand Tetons only to find I couldn't ridge soar the rocks and was quickly getting shot down and needing a low save in between the rocks. Can you watch all of this 5.5 hour glider flight from Logan, Utah to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming and back home? I was finally able to fix battery issues on my GoPro camera and could record the entire flight. Why not try showing the whole thing? It got pretty tense when I finally flew to the base of the Grand Tetons only to find I couldn't ridge soar the rocks and was quickly getting shot down and needing a low save in between the rocks. The asw27 sailplane is just an amazing aircraft and magic carpet ride. It was thrilling as always to fly the Salt River mountains both thermalling and ridge flying as the flight progressed.

A recent aerial survey using new technology was able to discover thousands of ancient Maya structures that were covered in dense Guatemalan jungle this week, ranging from houses, forts, irrigation canals, and even a large pyramid, according to Ars Technica ...
