Lincoln Six-Echo (McGregor) is a resident of a seemingly utopian but contained facility in the mid-21st century. Like all of the inhabitants of this carefully controlled environment, Lincoln hopes to be chosen to go to the "The Island"—reportedly the last uncontaminated spot on the planet—until he makes a terrible discovery that everything about his existence is a lie...and that he is actually more valuable dead than alive. Together with a beautiful fellow resident named Jordan Two-Delta (Johansson), Lincoln makes a daring escape to the outside world he's never known. Now, with the forces of the institute that once housed them relentlessly hunting them down, Lincoln and Jordan engage in a desperate race for their lives.

Blockbuster action director Michael Bay delivers a striking look at a strange world of the future in this sci-fi action drama. Midway through the 21st century, Lincoln Six Echo (Ewan McGregor) lives in a confined indoor community after ongoing abuse of the Earth has rendered most of the planet uninhabitable. One of the only places in the outside world still capable of sustaining life is an idyllic island where citizens are chosen to live through a lottery. Or at least that's what Lincoln and his fellow citizens are taught to believe; the truth is that Lincoln, like everyone he knows, is actually a clone who is kept under wraps to provide needed organs when the person who supplied his or her DNA falls ill. When he becomes aware that his existence is a fraud, Lincoln escapes to the outside world with a fellow clone, Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson), though the powers that be are determined to see that no one gets away alive. The Island also stars Steve Buscemi, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Sean Bean.

The Island (2005 film)
The Island is a 2005 American science fiction action thriller drama film directed by Michael Bay, starring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson. It was released on July 22, 2005, in the United States and was nominated for three awards, including the Teen Choice Award.
It is described as a pastiche of "escape-from-dystopia" science fiction films of the 1960s and 1970s such as Fahrenheit 451, THX 1138, Parts: The Clonus Horror, and Logan's Run. The film's plot revolves around the struggle of McGregor's character to fit into the highly structured world he lives in, isolated in a compound, and the series of events that unfold when he questions how truthful that world really is. After he learns that the compound inhabitants are clones who are used for organ harvesting and surrogate motherhood for wealthy people in the outside world, he escapes.
The film cost $126 million to produce. It earned only $36 million at the United States box office, but earned $127 million overseas, for a $162 million worldwide total. The original score for the film was composed by Steve Jablonsky, who would go on to score Bay's further works. It was also the first film directed by Bay that was not produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Coordinates: 51°23′28″N 0°49′52″E / 51.391°N 0.831°E / 51.391; 0.831
The Isle of Sheppey is an island off the northern coast of Kent, England in the Thames Estuary, some 46 miles (74 km) to the east of London. It has an area of 36 square miles (93 km2). The island forms part of the local government district of Swale. Sheppey is derived from the ancient Saxon "Sceapige", meaning isle of sheep, and even today the extensive marshes which make up a considerable proportion of the island provide grazing for large flocks of sheep.
Today's island was historically known as the "Isles of Sheppey" which were Sheppey itself, the Isle of Harty and the Isle of Elmley. Over time the channels between the isles have silted up to make one continuous island. Sheppey, like much of north Kent, is largely formed from London Clay and is a plentiful source of fossils. The Mount near Minster rises to 250 feet (76 metres) above sea level and is the highest point on the island. The rest of Sheppey is low-lying and the southern part of the island is marshy land criss-crossed by inlets and drains.

This location was fenced off and there was no easy way in without climbing a fence, so I just filmed the outside. This shelter was built in WWII as a Civil Defence surface shelter. The shelter was reused in 1955 as a Cold War sub control. The shelter was closed in 1968 following the stand down of the Civil Defence and was not used again. "Forgotten Sheppey" - A One Off Short Historical Documentary
So guys, all I can say is I tried something different. But it is all evolving around the same key idea of exploring old forgotten locations, but it was done in a documentary style way. I understand that this may not be for all of you but I always think it's good to experiment every once in a while, I must point out that the footage used in this is not all 100% accurate to the Isle Of Sheppey but it does represent what happened there. By the way, I only have one more week left of school and then I'm off for Easter Break, which means a lot more exploring and filming for you guys. This was the hardest video to makes due to the hours of editing and voice over work I had to do for it, so I hope it was worth it for you. Tornado Funnel Cloud Formation - Isle of Sheppey
Our Storm Chaser Damon Webb captured a Tornado funnel cloud formation. It did not touch down in the end and headed out to sea. If it did we would of loved to get readings from it. It is very rare to see this happen here. Our IT Department went down for 3 minutes because of the strikes from the thunderstorm. It sounded like bombs falling out of the sky. It was an amazing capture by our Storm Chaser Damon Webb. We would not say this was huge but it is very rare for it to happen here.

This is a video showcasing the old Kingsferry Lifting Bridge connecting the Isle of Sheppey with the county Kent, not far from Sittingbourne and south from Southend. The Isle of Sheppey is a small island located in the Northern region of Kent. The island has a small population of 38,000 and Sheerness is the largest town situated in the western corner. There are 2 bridges which cross The Swale between the Isle Of Sheppy and the county Kent. The first bridge made for transport to use was a railway bascule bridge built in 1860 as part of the London, Chatham and Dover Railway. This got replaced in 1904 by a different bascule bridge. Our Storm Chaser Damon Webb captured a Tornado funnel cloud formation. It did not touch down in the end and headed out to sea. If it did we would of loved to get readings from it. It is very rare to see this happen here. Our IT Department went down for 3 minutes because of the strikes from the thunderstorm. It sounded like bombs falling out of the sky. It was an amazing capture by our Storm Chaser Damon Webb. We would not say this was huge but it is very rare for it to happen here.

This is a video showcasing the old Kingsferry Lifting Bridge connecting the Isle of Sheppey with the county Kent, not far from Sittingbourne and south from Southend.
The Isle of Sheppey is a small island located in the Northern region of Kent. The island has a small population of 38,000 and Sheerness is the largest town situated in the western corner.
There are 2 bridges which cross The Swale between the Isle Of Sheppy and the county Kent. The first bridge made for transport to use was a railway bascule bridge built in 1860 as part of the London, Chatham and Dover Railway. This got replaced in 1904 by a different bascule bridge. Between 1922 and 1960, the bridge got replaced to how it is today, carrying both rail and road across the Swale.
Due to the increase in traffic, in 2006, the A249 Sheppey crossing was constructed and opened which allowed 2 lanes of traffic each way over the Swale, without the need to wait for large vessels and ships to pass. The Sheppey crossing also caused one of the worst pile up collisions in UK following thick fog at the top of the bridge one morning.
Today, the Kingsferry Lifting Bridge is still in use. It occasionally lifts to allow boats to pass through but this is usually quite rare and I've never seen it active. The road is reasonably quiet since most vehicles now use the Sheppey crossing which is much faster. It is so unique to have a railway line travelling alongside the road which both lift at the same time. Swale railway station is about 400 yards down the road from the bridge and sees usually 4 trains an hour.
The bridge also serves road vehicles which cross here very quickly. Originally, the bridge had old GEC/SGE Halogen white bordered wigwags but these have unfortunately since been replaced (surpiringly) with Unipart Rail LED wigwags. I am very glad to see the vertical/traffic light style SGE Halogen wigwags with a white border. These are very rare with being only 1 out of 2 places in the UK with white borders. There are some level crossings in the Isle of Man like this but with red/white borders instead.
As-well as old wigwags, very old motorized swing gates are used here which slowly swing closed alternately to block off traffic. A loud electronic bell is used, each side, as an audible alarm.
There is many warning signs on the approach to this bridge, most likely because vehicles travel very quickly over it.

The Isle of Sheppey is an island off the Kent coast and is a popular caravan destination. You might know that fact. But there are facts about the island that you probably don't know. Did you know that the first British powered flight by a British citizen took place on Sheppey in 1909? Or that for a brief few days in 1667, the Dutch occupied the island and used the island's weapons? Those are just two of the facts in this video.
Also, I made this video whilst travelling to the island and the leisure park, and so I thought I'd share some facts about the island that I researched on the journey. I'd also like to apologise for making this video on iMovie and not on Camtasia Studio as I was travelling.

They say the skies of Lebanon are burning
Those mighty cedars bleeding in the heat
They're showing pictures on the television
Women and children dying in the street
Ant we're still at it in our own place
Still trying to reach the future thru' the past
Still trying to carve tomorrow from a tombstone.
But hey! Don't listen to me!
Cos this wasn't meant to be no sad song
We've heard too much of that before
Right now I only want to be here with you
Till the morning dew comes falling
I want to take you to the island
And trace your footprints in the sand
And in the evening when there's no one around
We'll make love to the sound of the ocean.
They're raising banners over by the markets
Whitewashing slogans on the shipyard walls
Witch doctors praying for a mighty showdown
No way our holy flag is gonna fall
Up here we sacrifice our children
To feed the worn out dreams of yesterday
And teach them dying will lead us into glory
But hey! Don't listen ...
Now I know us plain folks don't see all the story
And I know this peace and love's just copping out
And I guess these young boys dying in the ditches
Is just what being free is all about
And how this twisted wreckage down on Main Street
Will bring us all together in the end
And we'll go marching down the road to freedom
