Biery [ˈbjɛrɨ] (German: Bierau) is a village in Gmina Jasienica, Bielsko County, Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. It has a population of 1,233 (2009). It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia.
The village was created in the 16th century by the owners of Grodziec. Originally it was named Birowy, and first appeared on a map from 1563. However other source from 1610, issued by Adam Wenceslaus, Duke of Cieszyn, cites a privilege from 1554, where the village was already supposedly mentioned.
There is a Catholic Heart of Jesus church in the village.
Inventor Józef Bożek was born here in 1782.
O Sacrum Convivium is a Latin prose text honoring the Blessed Sacrament. It was included as an antiphon to Magnificat in the vespers of the liturgical office on the feast of Corpus Christi. The text of the office is attributed with some probability to Saint Thomas Aquinas. Its sentiments express the profound affinity of the Eucharistic celebration, described as a banquet, to the Paschal mystery : "O sacred banquet at which Christ is consumed, the memory of his Passion is recalled, our souls are filled with grace, and the pledge of future glory is given to us."
O Sacrum Convivium exists in Gregorian and Ambrosian chant forms. Some of the many composers who have set the text are as follows:
Ubi caritas is a hymn of the Western Church, long used as one of the antiphons for the washing of feet on Maundy Thursday. The Gregorian melody was composed sometime between the fourth and tenth centuries, though some scholars believe the text dates from early Christian gatherings before the formalization of the Mass. It is usually sung at Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and on Holy Thursday evening at the Mass of the Lord's Supper. The current [Catholic Church|Catholic]] Missal (1970, 3rd typical edition 2000) reassigned it from the foot-washing mandatum to the offertory procession at the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper, and it also is found in current Anglican and Lutheran hymnals.
In the second typical edition (1975) of the current Roman Missal, the antiphonal response was altered to read "Ubi caritas est vera, Deus ibi est," after certain very early manuscripts. This translates as: "Where true charity is, there is God."

Schönhausen-Chor Krefeld Conductor: Joachim Neugart Recorded at Church of Vårfrukyrkan, Skänninge, Sweden 2011 This is a setting of the complete traditional Maundy Thursday Latin text (the famous Durufle motet only includes the first stanza) written in the style of MorningStar's best-selling "O Sacrum Convivium." Using sumptuous harmonies, it features a recurring statement of the text, "Where true love and charity are found, God is there." The chant-like verses inspire us to set aside petty quarrels and to experience, as one family, God's limitless and pure joy. This piece can be used throughout the year.

SAN ANTONIO (June 1, 2011)--A federal judge in South Texas has banned public prayer at a high school graduation ceremony after the agnostic parents of a senior went to court. The ruling from Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery in San Antonio came as Medina Valley High School in Castroville prepares for Saturday's graduation. Biery's order, released Tuesday, was in response to a lawsuit filed by Christa and Danny Schultz on behalf of their son, Corwin, to block use of prayer. The judge said graduation speakers cannot call on audience members to bow their heads, join in prayer or say "amen." Assistant Superintendent Chris Martinez said school officials will follow the order against public prayer, but they do not believe the district has done anything wrong. http://www.kwt...

Ein gebrochener Arm, ein gebrochenes Herz
Mitten im Höhenflug, ein Häufchen Elend
Dann diese Augen, Dein Blick
Bringt die Wende, bringt mir Glück
Hast mich getröstet, hast mich gepflegt
Bedingungslos, freier Eintritt in meine Seele
Schlafende Geister geweckt
Dummheit gedeckt
Neuen Mut in mich hineingelacht
Oh, nimm Dir, was ich brauch'
