In 1937, Oldsmobile was a pioneer in introducing a four-speed semi-automatic transmission called the "Automatic Safety Transmission", although this accessory was actually built by Buick, which would offer it in its own cars in 1938. This transmission featured a conventional clutch pedal, which the driver pressed before selecting either "low" or "high" range. In "low," the car shifted between first and second gears. In "high," the car shifted between first, third and fourth gears.

Footage of the Nazi airship catching fire, crashing and burning to the ground: This original footage from the British Pathé archive shows impressive shots of the Hindenburg flying overhead on Thursday, May 6, 1937, flying over its landing ground at Lakehurst, New Jersey, and then finally there is footage of the famous crash. 13 out of 36 passengers died, whilst 22 out of 61 crew members died, so many survived the disaster.

Die Wirtschaft erholt sich von der großen Krise, die Volksgemeinschaft fühlt sich zunehmend wohl. Das nimmt auch das demokratische Ausland in Europa und Übersee zur Kenntnis. Aber kritische Geister sind sicher, dass sich hinter dem schönen Schein eine Realität von mörderischem Rassenwahn und kriegslüsterner Revanchepolitik verbirgt. Im Sommer 1937 erhält der amerikanische Dokumentarfilmer Julien Bryan eine Sondergenehmigung, das Dritte Reich zu bereisen und dort Filmaufnahmen zu machen. Er will den Amerikanern die Wahrheit über Deutschland zeigen. Bryan fährt im September und Oktober 1937 mit seiner Kamera durch weite Teile des Landes. Natürlich darf er nur genehmigte Schauplätze filmen, trotzdem gelingt es ihm immer wieder, auch den Machthabern unbequeme Szenen zu drehen. Mit ungewöhnlichen Motiven und Perspektiven schafft Julien Bryan eine unvoreingenommene Darstellung im Sinne des Dokumentarfilms der 30er Jahre als Gegenstück zum Propagandafilm Riefenstahlscher Prägung.

Quarta Constituição brasileira: 10 de novembro de 1937
Foi próximo ao fim de seu mandato que Vargas deu um Golpe de Estado e permaneceu no poder, sua justificativa foi que somente ele no poder poderia salvar o Brasil de ameaças internas e externas, principalmente dos Comunistas e Socialistas. Isso tudo ocorreu após a Intentona Comunista, que foi uma tentativa de golpe e também o Plano Cohen, que também era uma tentativa de golpe, mas que supostamente foi orquestrado pelo próprio governo ou então os seus aliados, para que assim o governo tivesse mais uma desculpa para realizar o golpe.
Com essas duas tentativas de golpe comunista citadas pelo governo, Vargas revoga a Constituição de 1934, dissolve o Congresso e impõem a Constituição de 1937 que instaura a Carta Constitucional do Estado Novo e da ao presidente uma autonomia para permanecer no poder com poderes considerados ilimitados. A Constituição de 1937 ficou conhecida como uma constituição polaca ou fascista, por possuir muita semelhança com a constituição polonesa que na época possuia aspectos fascistas.
A Carta do Estado Novo e a nova Constituição foram ambas oficializadas e impostas em 10 de novembro de 1937 sem qualquer aviso e consulta prévia. O nome da nação continuava sendo Estados Unidos do Brasil. Essa constituição durou até o fim da Era Vargas, sendo substituída pela Constituição de 1946.
As características dessa constituição são baseadas em medidas fascistas, de repressão e antidemocráticas, sendo elas: eleição indireta para presidente com mandato de seis anos, anulação do Poder Legislativo e Judiciário, fim da liberdade de imprensa e partidária, prisão ou exílio de pessoas consideradas inimigos políticos ou da pátria.

- “Estados Unidos do Brasil”.
- Dissolução do Congresso.
- Instauração do Estado Novo.
- Constituição de aspecto fascista, autoritária e antidemocrática.

Pathé News
Pathé News was a producer of newsreels, cinemagazines, and documentaries from 1910 until 1970 in the United Kingdom. Its founder, Charles Pathé, was a pioneer of moving pictures in the silent era. The Pathé News archive is known today as British Pathé. Its collection of news film and movies is fully digitised and available online.
History
Its roots lie in 1896 Paris, France, when Société Pathé Frères was founded by Charles Pathé and his brothers, who pioneered the development of the moving image. Charles Pathé adopted the national emblem of France, the cockerel, as the trademark for his company. After the company, now called Compagnie Générale des Éstablissements Pathé Frère Pt'honographes & Cinématographes, invented the cinema newsreel with Pathé-Journal. French Pathé began its newsreel in 1908 and opened a newsreel office in Wardour Street, London in 1910.
The newsreels were shown in the cinema and were silent until 1928. At first they ran for about four minutes, and were issued biweekly. Even though during the early days the camera shots were taken from a stationary position, the Pathé newsreels captured events such as Franz Reichelt's fatal parachute jump from the Eiffel Tower, and suffragette Emily Davison's fatal injury by a racehorse at the 1913 Epsom Derby.

A* search algorithm
In computer science, A* (pronounced as "A star" (
listen)) is a computer algorithm that is widely used in pathfinding and graph traversal, the process of plotting an efficiently traversable path between multiple points, called nodes. Noted for its performance and accuracy, it enjoys widespread use. However, in practical travel-routing systems, it is generally outperformed by algorithms which can pre-process the graph to attain better performance,
although other work has found A* to be superior to other approaches.
Peter Hart, Nils Nilsson and Bertram Raphael of Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International) first described the algorithm in 1968. It is an extension of Edsger Dijkstra's 1959 algorithm. A* achieves better performance by using heuristics to guide its search.
History
In 1968, AI researcher Nils Nilsson was trying to improve the path planning done by Shakey the Robot, a prototype robot that could navigate through a room containing obstacles. This path-finding algorithm, that Nilsson called A1, was a faster version of the then best known method, Dijkstra's algorithm, for finding shortest paths in graphs. Bertram Raphael suggested some significant improvements upon this algorithm, calling the revised version A2. Then Peter E. Hart introduced an argument that established A2, with only minor changes, to be the best possible algorithm for finding shortest paths. Hart, Nilsson and Raphael then jointly developed a proof that the revised A2 algorithm was optimal for finding shortest paths under certain well-defined conditions.

A Star Is Born is a 1937 American Technicolor romantic drama film produced by David O. Selznick and directed by William A. Wellman, with a script by Wellman, Robert Carson, Dorothy Parker and Alan Campbell. It stars Janet Gaynor as an aspiring Hollywood actress, and Fredric March as an aging movie star who helps launch her career. Other members of the cast include Adolphe Menjou, May Robson, Andy Devine, and Lionel Stander. Contemporary reviews were very positive. Frank S. Nugent of The New York Times called the film "one of the year's best shows" as well as "good entertainment by any standards, including the artistic, and convincing proof that Hollywood need not travel to Ruritania for its plots; there is drama aplenty in its own backyard." At the 10th Academy Awards, A Star is Born was nominated in seven categories, winning in one. Wellman won the award for original story, the only Oscar he was to win during his career. W. Howard Greene received an honorary Academy Award for the film's color photography; this award was recommended by a committee of leading cinematographers after viewing all the color pictures made during the year. -

Follow the Leader is the sales introduction film prepared for dealers to let them know all of sales advantages to be found in a 1937 Oldsmobile. In 1937, Oldsmobile was a pioneer in introducing a four-speed semi-automatic transmission called the "Automatic Safety Transmission", although this accessory was actually built by Buick, which would offer it in its own cars in 1938. This transmission featured a conventional clutch pedal, which the driver pressed before selecting either "low" or "high" range. In "low," the car shifted between first and second gears. "1937 ist Hitlers Diktatur nach innen gefestigt, alle Regimegegner sind emigriert oder mundtot gemacht. Die Wirtschaft erholt sich von der großen Krise, die Volksgemeinschaft fühlt sich zunehmend wohl. Das nimmt auch das demokratische Ausland in Europa und Übersee zur Kenntnis. Aber kritische Geister sind sicher, dass sich hinter dem schönen Schein eine Realität von mörderischem Rassenwahn und kriegslüsterner Revanchepolitik verbirgt. Im Sommer 1937 erhält der amerikanische Dokumentarfilmer Julien Bryan eine Sondergenehmigung, das Dritte Reich zu bereisen und dort Filmaufnahmen zu machen. Er will den Amerikanern die Wahrheit über Deutschland zeigen. Bryan fährt im September und Oktober 1937 mit seiner Kamera durch weite Teile des Landes. Natürlich darf er nur genehmigte Schauplätze filmen, trotzdem gelingt es ihm immer wieder, auch den Machthabern unbequeme Szenen zu drehen. Mit ungewöhnlichen Motiven und Perspektiven schafft Julien Bryan eine unvoreingenommene Darstellung im Sinne des Dokumentarfilms der 30er Jahre als Gegenstück zum Propagandafilm Riefenstahlscher Prägung.

Quarta Constituição brasileira: 10 de novembro de 1937
Foi próximo ao fim de seu mandato que Vargas deu um Golpe de Estado e permaneceu no poder, sua justificativa foi que somente ele no poder poderia salvar o Brasil de ameaças internas e externas, principalmente dos Comunistas e Socialistas. Isso tudo ocorreu após a Intentona Comunista, que foi uma tentativa de golpe e também o Plano Cohen, que também era uma tentativa de golpe, mas que supostamente foi orquestrado pelo próprio governo ou então os seus aliados, para que assim o governo tivesse mais uma desculpa para realizar o golpe.
Com essas duas tentativas de golpe comunista citadas pelo governo, Vargas revoga a Constituição de 1934, dissolve o Congresso e impõem a Constituição de 1937 que instaura a Carta Constitucional do Estado Novo e da ao presidente uma autonomia para permanecer no poder com poderes considerados ilimitados. A Constituição de 1937 ficou conhecida como uma constituição polaca ou fascista, por possuir muita semelhança com a constituição polonesa que na época possuia aspectos fascistas.
A Carta do Estado Novo e a nova Constituição foram ambas oficializadas e impostas em 10 de novembro de 1937 sem qualquer aviso e consulta prévia. O nome da nação continuava sendo Estados Unidos do Brasil. Essa constituição durou até o fim da Era Vargas, sendo substituída pela Constituição de 1946.
As características dessa constituição são baseadas em medidas fascistas, de repressão e antidemocráticas, sendo elas: eleição indireta para presidente com mandato de seis anos, anulação do Poder Legislativo e Judiciário, fim da liberdade de imprensa e partidária, prisão ou exílio de pessoas consideradas inimigos políticos ou da pátria.

Contemporary reviews were very positive. Frank S. Nugent of The New York Times called the film "one of the year's best shows" as well as "good entertainment by any standards, including the artistic, and convincing proof that Hollywood need not travel to Ruritania for its plots; there is drama aplenty in its own backyard."
At the 10th Academy Awards, A Star is Born was nominated in seven categories, winning in one. Wellman won the award for original story, the only Oscar he was to win during his career. W. Howard Greene received an honorary Academy Award for the film's color photography; this award was recommended by a committee of leading cinematographers after viewing all the color pictures made during the year.

Wellman, with a script by Wellman, Robert Carson, Dorothy Parker and Alan Campbell. It stars Janet Gaynor as an aspiring Hollywood actress, and Fredric March as an aging movie star who helps launch her career. The fourth and last of the George A. Hirliman-produced films starring George O'Brien (preceded by "Daniel Boone", "Park Avenue Logger" and "Hollywood Cowboy") that were distributed by RKO Radio. Hirliman sold O'Brien's contract to RKO, which then produced 18 series westerns starring O'Brien that ended when O'Brien went into the Navy at the outbreak of WW II. Long-time (past and future) O'Brien director David Howard served as Hirliman's Associate Producer on this film. In 1937, Oldsmobile was a pioneer in introducing a four-speed semi-automatic transmission called the "Automatic Safety Transmission", although this accessory was actually built by Buick, which would offer it in its own cars in 1938. This transmission featured a conventional clutch pedal, which the driver pressed before selecting either "low" or "high" range. In "low," the car shifted between first and second gears. In "high," the car shifted between first, third and fourth gears.

Im Sommer 1937 erhält der amerikanische Dokumentarfilmer Julien Bryan eine Sondergenehmigung, das Dritte Reich zu bereisen und dort Filmaufnahmen zu machen. Er will den Amerikanern die Wahrheit über Deutschland zeigen. Bryan fährt im September und Oktober 1937 mit seiner Kamera durch weite Teile des Landes. Natürlich darf er nur genehmigte Schauplätze filmen, trotzdem gelingt es ihm immer wieder, auch den Machthabern unbequeme Szenen zu drehen. A Star Is Born is a 1937 American Technicolor romantic drama film produced by David O. Selznick and directed by William A. Wellman, with a script by Wellman, Robert Carson, Dorothy Parker and Alan Campbell. It stars Janet Gaynor as an aspiring Hollywood actress, and Fredric March as an aging movie star who helps launch her career. Other members of the cast include Adolphe Menjou, May Robson, Andy Devine, and Lionel Stander.
Contemporary reviews were very positive. Frank S. Nugent of The New York Times called the film "one of the year's best shows" as well as "good entertainment by any standards, including the artistic, and convincing proof that Hollywood need not travel to Ruritania for its plots; there is drama aplenty in its own backyard."
At the 10th Academy Awards, A Star is Born was nominated in seven categories, winning in one. Wellman won the award for original story, the only Oscar he was to win during his career. W. Howard Greene received an honorary Academy Award for the film's color photography; this award was recommended by a committee of leading cinematographers after viewing all the color pictures made during the year.

The fourth and last of the George A. Hirliman-produced films starring George O'Brien (preceded by "Daniel Boone", "Park Avenue Logger" and "Hollywood Cowboy") that were distributed by RKO Radio. Hirliman sold O'Brien's contract to RKO, which then produced 18 series westerns starring O'Brien that ended when O'Brien went into the Navy at the outbreak of WW II. Long-time (past and future) O'Brien director David Howard served as Hirliman's Associate Producer on this film. "Windjammer" finds O'Brien as a subpoena server ordered to serve a subpoena on Brandon Evans (The Commondore) for a senate inquiry or lose his job. Posing as a playboy, he boards the Commodore's yacht during a yacht race, and the yacht is wrecked by a gun-running windjammer commanded by Captain Morgan (William Hall.) All hands are picked up by the windjammer, including the Commodore's daughter (played by Constance Worth, at her blonde, plumpish best) and put to work as galley slaves and such, but it isn't long before O'Brien starts knocking heads, and making the gun-runners wish they had left him swimming.
