NVM Express, NVMe, or Non-Volatile Memory Host Controller Interface Specification (NVMHCI), is a logical device interface specification for accessing non-volatile storage media attached via PCI Express (PCIe) bus. "NVM" stands as an initialism for "non-volatile memory", which is commonly flash memory that comes in form of solid-state drives (SSDs). As a logical device interface, NVM Express has been designed from the ground up, capitalizing on the low latency and internal parallelism of flash-based storage devices, and mirroring the parallelism of contemporary CPUs, platforms and applications.
By its design, NVM Express allows levels of parallelism found in modern SSDs to be fully utilized by the host hardware and software. As a result, NVM Express reduces I/O overhead and brings various performance improvements in comparison to previous logical device interfaces, including multiple, long command queues, and reduced latency.
NVM Express devices exist both in form of standard-sized PCI Express expansion cards and as 2.5-inch form-factor devices that provide a four-lane PCI Express interface through the U.2 connector (formerly known as SFF-8639).SATA Express storage devices and the M.2 specification for internally mounted computer expansion cards also support NVM Express as the logical device interface.
A solid-state drive (SSD, also known as a solid-state disk although it contains neither an actual disk nor a drive motor to spin a disk) is a solid-state storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies as memory to store data persistently. SSD technology primarily uses electronic interfaces compatible with traditional block input/output (I/O) hard disk drives, which permit simple replacements in common applications. Additionally, new I/O interfaces, like SATA Express, have been designed to address specific requirements of the SSD technology.
SSDs have no moving (mechanical) components. This distinguishes them from traditional electromechanical magnetic disks such as hard disk drives (HDDs) or floppy disks, which contain spinning disks and movable read/write heads. Compared with electromechanical disks, SSDs are typically more resistant to physical shock, run silently, have lower access time, and less latency. However, while the price of SSDs has continued to decline over time, consumer-grade SSDs are still roughly eight to nine times more expensive per unit of storage than consumer-grade HDDs.
SSDs are awesome, but the common SATA interface is becoming a serious bottleneck. However, the new NVMe standard helps take SSD performance to new heights... lynda.com message: Sign up for your 10-day FREE trial at http://lynda.com/techquickie Follow: http://twitter.com/luke_lafr Join the community: http://linustechtips.com License for image used in this video: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.5/legalcode

In this video I discuss the difference between an M.2 SSD and a NVME PCI-Ex4 SSD. From how to tell them apart just by looking at them and little bit about recent computer storage history of that explains how we got to this point. I hope this video clears up the technical mumbo-jumbo using simple, easy to understand language. Today I perform a heap of real world benchmarks (like booting Windows 10, launching Battlefield 1), where I start testing a hard drive vs a ssd vs a nvme m.2 to see what the differences are between these three choices of disk drives, I have a WD 3TB Blue (5400RPM, and yes a 7200RPM will be faster, but not by whole lot to make these benchmarks different) Vs A SSD Vs. a NVMe M.2. Even though the synthetics showed a massive difference, the boot times of games and also the OS showed virtually no difference, and it was here that I thought that most people are not going to really benefit from going from an SSD to an NVMe drive, unless of course they are trying to save time on productitivty workflow (like Adobe Premiere Pro for example). **Note - There are different types of m.2 drives, m.2 dri...

Just how much slower is the Evo SSD when compared to the Pro? Could it be a bargain buy? https://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/storage/samsung_nvme_960_m_2_evo_ssd_review/1 https://www.facebook.com/tinytomlogan/ https://www.instagram.com/tinytomlogan/
To test and visualize how storage performance impacts the user experience in real world scenarios we have recorded how quickly our Core i7-6700K test system completes various tasks using Samsung’s new 960 Evo 500GB SSD. Those findings will be compared with results from the Crucial MX300, an affordable TLC-based SATA SSD as well as a WD Red Pro 4TB mechanical hard drive. se está com ele, está sozinha
e sozinha não quer mais ficar
se está com ele é por que quer
por que não quer mudar
diga adeus
diga adeus ou não diga nada
!diga adeus!
se está chegando o fim da linha
'tá na hora de saltar
se está com ele, está sozinha
e sozinha não quer mais ficar
diga adeus
diga adeus ou não diga nada
diga adeus, diga adeus
diga adeus, diga adeus
vai chover, vai secar, serão águas passadas
diga adeus, !adeus!
