The W

The W is the third studio album by the American hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan. It was released on November 21, 2000, by Loud Records. After their 1997 album Wu-Tang Forever, several of the group's members released solo projects before The W, which has a more rugged, less polished sound than that of most Wu-Tang related albums from that era. The album also features guest appearances from Isaac Hayes, Redman, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, and Junior Reid.

The W debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, and number one on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart with 301,000 copies sold in the first week. It produced several singles, which also charted as well. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 14, 2000, and has sold 1.1 million copies in the United States. Upon its release, The W received generally positive reviews from most music critics based on an aggregate score of 80/100 from Metacritic.

Chief Keef

Keith Cozart (born August 15, 1995), better known by his stage name Chief Keef, is an American rapper and record producer from Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood, Keef began rapping at an early age, and used his mother's karaoke machine and blank tapes to record his music. During his teenage years and while under house arrest, Keef's music videos were met with acclaim from local high school students. His increasing popularity led to him being the subject of a brief bidding war among labels. Ultimately, Keef signed a major record deal with Interscope Records and later signed with 1017 Brick Squad. Keef also became the CEO of his own record label, Glory Boyz Entertainment, which later developed into Glo Gang. His debut album Finally Rich was released on December 18, 2012.

Since becoming famous, Keef has continued to experience ongoing legal issues. These legal issues, accompanied with Keef's notability within Chicago's drill music genre, have caused Keef to gain a gangster-like image, which has been compared with past gangsta rappers, such as 50 Cent. Despite being dropped from Interscope in late 2014, Keef continued self-releasing mixtapes through his Glo Gang label. Although Keef had originally planned Bang 3 to be released as his second album, a then-track from the album, "Nobody", developed into its own project. Keef released Nobody as a full-length album in December 2014, while continuing to delay the often-pushed back Bang 3.

Wu-Tang Clan

The Wu-Tang Clan /ˈwuːtæŋklæn/ is an American hip hop group from New York City, originally composed of East Coast rappers RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa and Ol' Dirty Bastard. The group was formed in and is associated with the New York City borough of Staten Island.

The Wu-Tang Clan has released seven gold and platinum studio albums with worldwide sales of more than 40 million albums, including members' solo projects, since 1992. Its debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), is considered to be one of the greatest albums in hip-hop history and it is said to have been groundbreaking for hip-hop and one of the most important albums of the hip-hop golden age.

The Wu-Tang Clan has introduced and launched the careers of a number of affiliated artists and groups, often collectively known as the Wu-Tang Killa Bees and it has been mentioned to be one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all-time. In 2008, About.com ranked them the No. 1 greatest hip hop group of all time". Kris Ex of Rolling Stone called Wu-Tang Clan "the best rap group ever". In 2004, NME hailed them as one of the most influential groups of the last ten years.

Park Bo-ram

Park Bo-ram (Hangul: 박보람; born March 1, 1994) is a South Korean singer. She first appeared on Mnet's SuperStar K2 as a contestant in 2010. Park made her debut with the single "Beautiful" featuring Zico on August 7, 2014. That year, she won Artist of the Year for August at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards and was nominated for Best New Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, and Melon Music Awards.

Career

Pre-debut

In 2010, Park Boram participated in SuperStar K2, where she finished in the Top 8. Talking about her experience in the singing competition, she stated: "I also gained the experience of performing on stage through Superstar K2. I realized that I need to feel comfortable in order to not make mistakes." After the show, she trained under Jellyfish Entertainment before moving to MMO Entertainment for her debut. In 2011, Park recorded the song "Always" for SBS's 49 Days OST. At the end of 2011, Jellyfish Entertainment released a Christmas-themed single featuring the company's artists, including Park. In March 2014, she made a surprise appearance in Hong Dae Kwang's "Thank You My Love" music video. Before her debut, she gained attention for having lost 32 kg since her Superstar K2 days.

Fredo Santana

Derrick Coleman (born July 4, 1990), better known by his stage name Fredo Santana, is an American rapper from Chicago, Illinois. He is the older cousin of Chicago rapper Chief Keef He was co-CEO of Chief Keef's record label Glory Boyz Entertainment and has also started his own record label Savage Squad Records. His debut studio album Trappin' Ain't Dead was released on November 20, 2013 via Savage Squad.

Music career

Fredo's first mixtape, "It's a Scary Site" , was released on September 20, 2012 and featured production by TM88, Young Chop, 12Hunna, Leek E Leek, J-Hill, C-Sick, Paris Bueller as well as guest appearances from Chief Keef, Lil Reese, King Louie, Gino Marley, Frenchie, Lil Herb, Lil Bibby, Lil Durk, Santana's second mixtape, Fredo Kruger, was released on February 28, 2013 and featured production by 808 Mafia, Young Chop and Mike WiLL Made It, as well as guest appearances from Migos, Juelz Santana, Soulja Boy, Young Scooter, Fat Trel, Alley Boy, Lil Durk and Lil Reese among others. It would later be released for retail sale via iTunes on May 7, 2013.
